Chapter 7 - Chapter 7 - Isekai Punchbag

BOOM!!!

A white lightning bolt pierced perfectly downward, the object enveloped in a faint blue light striking the tower instantly, its form appearing faster than the sound of the explosion, which was capable of rendering a person's hearing sensors useless for some time. The environment went dark for a full second as the giant beam descended to pierce the ground, the difference in light it produced creating a striking contrast in vision. Unlike bombs that explode and destroy the surrounding area with their instant destructive energy, lightning slips through cracks in the ground and forcibly vaporizes water, causing the surface to crack. Although the result is not as powerful as an exploding bomb, the lightning strike creates an elegant appearance.

The mother boiling at a temperature of 30,000°C had successfully burned the target below, while the children who looked like roots falling from heaven were still busy dancing merrily with whispers echoing in the room. The temperature five times hotter than the surface of the sun, causes the dragon's body to emit smoke. In a single second, it doesn't even have a chance to realize or avoid it, so using magic in this position is impossible; even if it always uses protective magic to guard itself, it is nothing more than a foolish act of wasting precious Essence (which will only weaken it when the real enemy appears).

With inhuman precision, the armor created from superior materials deflected attack after attack that hit it, the reddish-black color of the scales decorating it according to nature's demands. Meanwhile, on the other side of the battle in the same place, the destruction of the formation caused the attacking battalion to scatter in different directions without anyone's command, some of them turning, the majority of them crashing. As for the lucky minority, the cunning electric fibers took advantage of the gaps between their biological shields, the threads of lightning moving more intensely than sound, gently and softly burning it skin from the inside.

The surface of the tower split and cracked evenly, its destruction distributed perfectly from the center, which was the position where the dragon was attacked by the foreign lightning magic. Above, the sky was still cloaked in gray with black patterns, characteristic of a painting polished with charcoal which was commonly found. The dragon knowing this, and immediately used its magic. At that moment, as the spell came out of its giant jaws, a reddish-orange fire burned its body with the appearance of wheels on its back close to its two wings. Although faint until the shape disappeared, its large body was covered with a hexagonal weave that formed a garment instead of a round circle.

More obvious than a collection of revolutionary communist promises, the lightning that accurately struck only one large highland was most likely caused by magic; and even if it guess was wrong, it would not lose anything. In a fantasy world, even if a newborn baby became a fast food worker the next second, nature should allow such strange phenomena and it would not be a surprising novelty to the people around.

Below, the healthy, nutritious soil was covered with tall grass and large, fresh, colorful flowers. Far from the location of the lightning strike, just behind a tree, Cassius observed everything that was happening while assessing his opponent's maximum strength. His body was engulfed in flames like a dragon on one of the tower tops, blue flames burning brightly with a holographic wheel slowly spinning behind his back when Body Ascent was activated; similar to when he used support magic, offensive magic displayed a complex diagram in the form of a digital bracelet on his left hand. The pragmatic trick he had accidentally discovered was about using the system, he didn't always have to say "Essence" every time he wanted to check his statistics; he just had to stretch out his hand as quickly as possible, and the soul book chained to his chest would appear and open instantly.

'With Body Ascent, the attribute problem has been solved. As long as this avatar isn't destroyed by excess Essence, my HP, SP, STR, DEX, INT, and CONS will never decrease by even a single digit,' he thought to himself as he proudly looked at the cheater's stats.

He continued his dialogue as if anyone cared, 'Godhead can't directly tell me about an item's data or enemy stats. This is most likely because I set the rules in the initial prompt before roleplaying. So, if I want to know an item's strengths and weaknesses, I have to use it first. For example... The monster meat I ate was immediately analyzed by the chatbot, and the results would be explained in the prompt when I asked for answers about the monster (of course, not down to detailed information like lineage).'

In the dragon's lair, high above, the gray sky echoed with its faint cries as it prepared for a second attack. 'Even if the lightning doesn't burn my skin, it's wiser to avoid it,' the dragon thought to itself as it watched the creatures' tracks around it. Its broad majestic wings stretched out, revealing its large powerful body. With one flap of its two wings sewn onto its giant back, two waves of powerful wind were created, and it shot into the stratosphere as fast as a jet taking off.

At that altitude, the cumulonimbus clouds looked like mountains wandering across a bright blue ocean. These clouds, which are one of the creators of lightning, have an average height of 6,000 meters above land (as a parameter, commercial aircraft typically fly at an average altitude of 9,000 to 12,000 meters, and even 15,000 to 21,000 meters for more exclusive and military types). Lightning is more likely to strike sideways into other clouds or downwards towards the earth than upwards into the sky; therefore, if something flies high enough above the source, the potential for being struck is drastically reduced. Even if such a forced attack is successful, the damage it causes will not be as severe as it would be in the normal direction, and its effects are more likely to be neutralized or even eliminated in some conditions.

Even though Cassius was able to create skills from nothing with his unlimited amount of Essence, he was still not a true god who could do anything without risk, so analyzing the enemy and increasing vigilance was the most rational step even for someone as superior as him.

The large figure appeared blurry from his view as it flew away through the electrified clouds. Cassius thought, 'Wyvern? No, it's a dragon. If my enemy were the cliché type of creature that was almost always consistently portrayed as the strongest, then I would have to cross out my assessment of the magic aspect, which was like trying to guess whether Asian nerd were good at playing the piano or not (of course they are good at playing the piano; after all, that is one of the absolute rules of the universe). Since I hadn't exchanged a single move yet, I couldn't conclude its reactions and patterns. This NPC is smart enough to fly when it knows my skill is lightning-type, because it knows that flying high will reduce the effectiveness of the attack and even make it disappear. But... Wait—damn it!" In the outside world, Luke woke up in a slight panic and straightened his back. Inside, Cassius immediately ran at full speed.

A yellow pillar of fire created a BWOOSH!!! sound, the chemical reaction piercing the cumulonimbus cloud and dumping itself right on the tree Cassius had previously occupied. The texture of the ground instantly became crispy, its resistance decreasing by the second as the deadly blast progressed.
