What game was he running now?
I pivoted to face him, rage coursing through my veins like molten steel.
Chad shook his head, wrestling with whatever words threatened to spill from his lips.
"Look, I wanted to mess with your head, Kermit. Payback for that whole situation with Glenda. Hell, I never imagined I'd be standing here defending her. But I'm not completely heartless, and I just figured out she's actually decent. She doesn't deserve what you're putting her through. The girl has no clue what really went down that night."
"If you've got something to say, spit it out fast, Chad."
My tone cut through the air sharp as a blade. My patience had reached its breaking point.
But truthfully, his words had hooked my attention.
