Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: An Unwelcome Guest Arrives

Let's rewind half a day prior. Yesterday evening.

Miles, stimulated by Peter's analysis and overwhelmed by the immense power he contained, felt lost and decided to temporarily leave the house to calm down by himself. He left Aunt May's house and headed toward Brooklyn. He didn't dare go home, so he went to his uncle Aaron Davis's apartment. Unfortunately, his uncle wasn't home. Miles left a note for his closest relative, the uncle who always indulged his wild ideas.

Just as he was about to leave, The Prowler suddenly arrived at his uncle's house! Worse, through the open window, The Prowler realized there might be someone inside! Fortunately, in that moment of crisis, Miles activated his Camouflage ability.

The Prowler's goggles were equipped with infrared detection. But, just as Peter (Earth-616) had theorized, Miles, when fully camouflaged, could even block infrared detection! So initially, The Prowler didn't detect Miles. Even though Miles was sitting on the floor right in front of him, only inches away!

Just then, his boss called. "Hello, Mr. Fisk," The Prowler answered the phone (referencing Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin). "I got the video footage from the tunnel. If he's still here, I'll find him. You know me, sir, I never give up."

The Prowler dismissed the feeling that he was being watched. He hung up the phone, took off his mask, and prepared to grab a bottle of liquor. The face revealed beneath the mask was that of Miles's beloved uncle—Aaron Davis!

Miles's pupils constricted. He had been chased by The Prowler once before, when the other Spider-Man died, and the sheer pressure from the villain forced him to clamp his hands over his mouth, holding his breath completely to avoid detection.

The Prowler turned and walked to the liquor cabinet, picking up a bottle. Miles seized the chance and quickly scrambled out the window. However, in his haste, he accidentally knocked over a plant on the windowsill.

The Prowler, who had just picked up the bottle, instantly sensed the disturbance. He put the bottle down and immediately rushed out in pursuit. Miles's body heat generated during the chase exposed him, making him visible to The Prowler despite being camouflaged. A chase ensued on the streets.

After narrowly escaping The Prowler, Miles didn't dare return home. He spent the night hunkered down on a street corner like a vagrant. Dragging his exhausted body, he headed straight for Aunt May's house in Queens. Upon arrival, he encountered Peni, who had just finished working on The Gadget, and Spider-Man Noir, who had just returned from training.

This was why Peter (Earth-616) and the others walked in on the shocking scene.

Miles was running, completely out of breath, his face etched with terror and confusion. Middle-Aged Peter walked behind him, lightly patting his back: "Hey, kid, take it easy." Seeing him, Miles calmed down slightly and stated: "My uncle, he's The Prowler. He works for Kingpin, and he tried to kill me!"

"Doesn't that plot a bit simple and brutal?" Spider-Man Noir commented from the couch, looking over. "Hey!" Peni slapped him angrily. The kid was already so hurt, shocked, and distraught; how could Noir say something like that?

Middle-Aged Peter pulled Miles into a hug, comforting him with a firm pat on the back: "It's okay, it's okay. We'll figure this out."

However, just then, Peter (Earth-616), Gwen, and Spider-Ham, who were standing in the yard, all reacted instantly. The Spider-Sense was blaring!

CRASH! A figure dropped from the sky, slamming heavily onto the concrete driveway in front of Aunt May's house, cracking the pavement. It was a woman in a teal-green metallic suit, her hair tied back in a large bun, wearing goggles over her eyes, hiding her expression. Most crucially, several monstrous, clawed tentacles writhed behind her! Doctor Octopus!Dr. Olivia "Liv" Octavius! Unlike in most other universes, the Doctor Octopus of this world was female. But the heroes did not underestimate her for an instant. Regardless of gender, Doctor Octopus is Doctor Octopus—a high-tech, high-intelligence mad scientist!

"Nice place. Took us a while to find it," Doctor Octopus (or Madam Octopus) said. "Wow, so many Spider-Men... I apologize; did I interrupt something?" She looked at Peter, Gwen, Spider-Ham, Middle-Aged Peter, and Miles, a cruel smile on her face.

"I think... I was followed," Miles lifted his head from Middle-Aged Peter's embrace. "It's Liv. Miles, get inside the house," Middle-Aged Peter pulled Miles behind him and adopted a fighting stance. "Guys, I think we have big trouble!" Peter (Earth-616) shouted, looking up at the sky.

WHIRR WHIRR WHIRR— A helicopter hovered in the air. The side door of the helicopter was open, clearly where Doctor Octopus had arrived from. And now, a second figure appeared in the doorway. It was a man in a black suit with metallic silver-gray, almost stone-like skin and an enormous build. His name is Lonnie Thompson Lincoln, one of New York's biggest crime bosses. He is an African-American man with albinism whose cold, ruthless nature was shaped by ridicule in his youth. After exposure to an experimental chemical (Diox-3), he gained superhuman durability and near-invulnerability. Of course, he is better known by his nickname: Tombstone!

THUD! Tombstone leaped down from the helicopter, which was hovering dozens of feet up, smashing the concrete into pieces upon landing. "Looks like there's plenty of fun to be had here," Tombstone stood up, walked next to Madam Octopus, and gave Peter and the others a vicious smile.

"Look at these pathetic little spiders," another voice boomed from the helicopter. Then, a third figure dropped down. This was a grotesque man wearing a mechanical scorpion battlesuit, complete with four articulated mechanical legs and a long, mechanical scorpion stinger tail raised behind him. His name is MacDonald "Mac" Gargan. He was originally a private investigator hired to discover Spider-Man's true identity. Based on the principle that the scorpion is the spider's natural enemy, his employer created a high-tech scorpion suit for him. The major flaw was that the suit would eventually erode his mind, turning him into a destructive force called The Scorpion. MacDonald had become a puppet of the armor. His name: The Scorpion!

In the distance, a motorcycle roared toward them, braking suddenly and leaving a long skid mark on the street. A fourth figure in a purple, high-tech battlesuit appeared before the group. It was Miles's own uncle—The Prowler (Aaron Davis)!

With that, Kingpin's Four Lieutenants were assembled!
