Chapter 50: Sora Shiun'in Reappears
"Raidraptor - Rise Falcon can attack all of the opponent's monsters once each! Go! Brave Claw Revolution!"
Shun Kurosaki waved his hand, and Rise Falcon whistled into the sky, raining down a barrage of projectiles toward the three knights below.
Shun Kurosaki put away his Duel Disk, ignoring the fiery explosions behind him. He walked straight back to Yūga Hōzumi's side and said coldly, "A bunch of fools who never learn."
"The ones who truly never learn have arrived," Yūga Hōzumi said, standing up.
In the open ground before them, a massive dimensional gate appeared out of thin air. Wave after wave of duelists, moving in perfect unison, clad in blue uniforms and wearing masks, emerged from it.
The one leading them was none other than Sora Shiun'in, who had escaped that day.
"I'm surprised you have the guts to come back," Yūga Hōzumi said coldly.
"It's you. Last time, I wasn't taking things seriously, and I let you steal a victory. This time, you won't be so lucky." Sora looked up at the two at the temple's entrance, licked his lollipop, and gave a cruel smile.
"You all go search for the target. Leave these two XYZ Remnants to me. If anyone resists, deal with them on the spot." With a wave of his hand, the Obelisk Force behind Sora activated their Duel Disks and scattered in all directions.
However, before they could take more than a few steps, dozens of duelists in LDS uniforms emerged from all corners of the city to intercept them.
"So this is Reiji Akaba's backup plan?" Yūga Hōzumi watched the suddenly appearing LDS legion with interest.
Just then, a communication request from Reiji Akaba lit up on both of their Duel Disks.
"Let LDS handle these minions. I'm leaving their elites to you two," Reiji Akaba said calmly once the video call connected.
"Leave this guy to me. You go deal with that traitor," Shun Kurosaki said, staring intently at Sora. "I haven't forgotten what he did to Heartland City."
"Then he's all yours," Yūga Hōzumi said, turning to leave.
"Hey, are you running away?" Sora shouted.
"He has more important things to do than waste time on a loser like you," Shun Kurosaki said coldly.
"So they sent you out to die instead?" Sora wanted to give chase, but Shun Kurosaki blocked his path.
"Die? By your hand?" Shun Kurosaki sneered.
"Fine. I'll use you as an appetizer before the main course. Don't worry, after I defeat you, I won't turn you into a card right away. It'll be much more fun to turn you into a card right in front of his eyes," Sora sneered wickedly.
"Duel!" x2
"My turn!" Sora declared, taking the first move.
"I activate the Continuous Spell, Toy Pot!"
"Toy Pot's effect! Once per turn, I can discard one card to draw one card and show it to you. If it's a 'Fluffal' monster, I can special summon one monster from my hand. Otherwise, the drawn card is discarded."
"The card I drew is Fluffal Owl! I'll special summon this monster!"
"And now, the effect of the Edge Imp Chain I discarded for Toy Pot's cost activates!"
"When this card is sent from the hand or field to the Graveyard, I can add one 'Frightfur' card from my Deck to my hand. I add the Continuous Trap 'Frightfur' to my hand!"
"Fluffal Owl's effect activates! When this card is normal or special summoned from my hand, I can add one 'Polymerization' from my Deck to my hand."
"Next, I summon Edge Imp Saw in Attack Position!"
"Edge Imp Saw's effect! When this card is summoned, I can send one 'Fluffal' monster from my hand to the Graveyard to draw two cards. Then, I place one card from my hand on either the top or bottom of my Deck."
"I activate the Spell Card, Polymerization! I fuse the Edge Imp Chain and Fluffal Cat in my hand!"
"Chains of the demon! Vicious beast! Become one and reveal your new power! Fusion Summon! Appear, the chained beast that binds all! Level 5! Frightfur Sheep!"

"Iron teeth that house a demon! Merge with the fanged beast and reveal your new power and form! Fusion Summon! Appear, king of beasts that rends all to pieces! Level 7! Frightfur Tiger!"

Two Fusion Summons in a single turn, plus three set cards in his backrow. Sora grinned triumphantly. "See that? This is the true power of an Academy elite. Last time, I wasn't even trying."
Facing Sora's provocation, Shun Kurosaki, standing atop the temple steps, gave him a cold glance before speaking slowly. "Are you finished?"
"I'm not like Yūga Hōzumi. I have no interest in chatting. I will simply crush you to avenge our fallen comrades! My turn! I draw!"
"I summon Raidraptor - Vanishing Lanius in Attack Position."
"I activate the effect of Raidraptor - Vanishing Lanius!"
"On the turn this card is normal or special summoned, I can special summon one Level 4 or lower 'Raidraptor' monster from my hand."
"Appear! Raidraptor - Rudder Strix."
"Raidraptor - Rudder Strix's effect activates! When this card is special summoned from the hand by a 'Raidraptor' card's effect, inflict 600 points of damage to the opponent!"
A volley of shells shot out from between the newly summoned bird's wings, speeding toward Sora.

"You bastard!" Sora, his face smudged with soot and grime from the thick smoke of the explosion, gritted his teeth and glared at Shun Kurosaki.
"Since I control another 'Raidraptor' monster, I can special summon this card!"
"Appear! Raidraptor - Fuzzy Lanius!"
"I overlay my three Level 4 monsters on the field!"
