I'm halfway to the car door when Tony's phone buzzes.
He looks at the screen, and his face goes dead white.
"Katherine. Stop."
Something in his voice makes me freeze, with my hand on the doorknob. It was not the commanding tone from before; this was different... more like out of fear.
He crosses to me in three strides and shows me his phone.
A photograph of me. Getting into the car downstairs. Taken minutes ago.
The message below: She left you. Good. This makes my job easier when she's alone, vulnerable, heartbroken - exactly how I want her.
Thanks for the assist, boss.

My blood runs cold.
"He's watching." Tony's voice is low. "Right now. Waiting for you to leave so he can-" He can't finish.
I look at my packed bag, at the door, and at freedom that suddenly feels like a trap, then I step inside with him.
"I'm not running from this." But my voice shakes. "I'm running from you treating me like-"
