Chapter 545 - Chapter 217: The Old Man!

Rhode furrowed his brows. The kind of cannon that could turn a Transcender into a Magic Crystal with just a flash of light sounded very dangerous. It might even work on those of them who had Magic Power within their bodies.

And why would they make a move on Extalia at this critical moment? Isn't it clear that the more troublesome enemy is the group seizing Magic Crystals?

Kildas reminded them, "Kids, more guests are coming."

He moved his shoulders, seemingly eager for a fight.

Everyone looked into the distance, and ten Legion were flying this way, each with two soldiers carrying cannons.

"This is bad!" The Transcenders panicked.

The mages, however, were eager to try.

Erza stood up to meet the enemy, while Mira patted Carla on the back, tilted her head in Shargate's direction, and then gave her an encouraging look.

Carla bit her lip, lowered her head, and said nothing.

Shargate looked at Carla and said to Rhode:

"These big monsters, they have many more. This is just one small team. Right now, they're only here to capture us, but if they find out you've moved the Magic Crystals... you better find a way to escape before the main force arrives!"

If he recognized his daughter now, she might not want to leave and would be dragged down with him. It's better not to acknowledge her so she and her companions can escape without hesitation.

"Since you've said that, we can't just leave you alone." Rhode smiled, "Besides, if they've provoked the most troublesome guild in the world, they're the ones who should be thinking about escape."

"Hahaha..." Kildas laughed, patting Rhode on the back, "No wonder the old man likes you so much. Those words are just in the spirit of Fairy Tail."

Mira laughed, "I think the President likes Rhode not because of that."

Wolian said, "Rhode, someone asked how you're going to fight next."

Rhode said, "Well, how else to fight? There are only a few enemies; first come, first served."

As soon as he finished speaking, gunfire suddenly rang out from the east side of the Floating Island, and in an instant, 10 out of the 20 people on the Legion fell.

The 'public channel' became chaotic, with many people chattering:

"Alzack, Bisca, too sneaky!"

"Shoot when they're closer!"

"Damn, I haven't even had a chance to act!"

Alzack and Bisca didn't respond, but the gunfire sounded again, and 9 of the remaining 10 fell, with only one deploying a Magic Shield out of caution.

But then there was another round of gunfire, ripples appeared on the Magic Shield, and it shattered.

The soldier was hit by the bullet, electric arcs appeared all over his body, and a faint rumble of thunder could be heard from afar.

Clearly, it was Alzack's Gun Bullet Magic once again.

Alzack's voice finally rang out, "Sorry, sorry, I'll leave those 10 big ones for you guys."

"Bastard!"

Bisca immediately followed, "If you don't want them, we'll take them."

"You two!"

The group had no way to deal with this pair of sharpshooter lovers, who could see far and shoot far.

Kildas scratched his ear, "It's amazing how they can be so noisy even when fighting outside."

Lisana smiled softly, "None of us have changed at all."

The guild's atmosphere was harmonious (probably), and no one paid attention to those ten riderless Legion.

The residents of Magnolia felt at ease seeing the enemies fall from the sky before even getting close.

The number one guild in Fiore was beside them; no one was more reliable than them at a time like this.

"To think it was so easily..." The Transcenders were amazed at their power.

With such powerful people, if they could hide here, maybe they could survive!

Hope rose in Shargate's heart; perhaps this was the last chance for Transcenders to survive.

Li Li, lying on the ground, hadn't had time to think about these things because as soon as he heard the distant thunder, his body trembled uncontrollably.

He looked around, worried about being seen.

But sometimes the more you worry, the more likely it is to happen.

When he lay there not moving, no one noticed him, but as soon as he looked around, Shargate immediately saw his profile, "Li Li?!"

Li Li opened his mouth but couldn't speak.

Too much had happened today, and his feelings were incredibly complex.

In such a short time, the Royal Capital was upended by a few people, he was captured, and then the King's Army attacked Extalia, forcing even the Queen to flee.

Li Li found himself at a loss.

He was expelled from Extalia for aiding an injured human.

He thought he should hate the Queen, hate that country, but upon hearing news of its downfall, he was deeply saddened.

Even regret welled up within him.

—Why didn't I notice the King's intentions sooner? Why couldn't I prevent the fall of Extalia?

He had often called them foolish, but upon hearing such news, Li Li felt a gripping pain.

Li Li felt a hand patting his shoulder, and an old and kind voice sounded in his ear:

"Regret is an important feeling. Because there's regret, you feel remorse; because there's love, there is regret.

"Remember this feeling, but don't immerse yourself in remorse. Try to stand up, and then think about what you can do for those you love.

"Young one, your journey is still long, and everything is not over yet. And if you feel lonely, try reaching out; perhaps a trustworthy companion is right by your side."

Li Li lifted his head with effort, and a kindly smiling face came into view.

Immediately, Rhode, Mira, Erza... many people exclaimed:

"President!"

"Old man!"

"Master Makarov!"

Some were from guild members, some from the people of Magnolia, but each cry was full of infinite joy and trust.

Whether it was Rhode, Erza, or Kildas, they brought a sense of reassurance, but something always seemed missing.

And when Makarov appeared, every worry seemed to disappear.

Li Li was surprised by the prestige of this small old man, and in a sudden realization, he thought he had heard this voice somewhere before...

King? No, impossible, that person could never speak such gentle words.

But the voice was indeed identical...

"Hey, everyone still spirited?" Makarov smiled, his mustache curling up as if nothing had happened.

"President!" Rhode ran to Makarov with the medicine bottle, Mira and Erza naturally gathering over.

"Hmm." Makarov nodded at them, maintaining his gentle smile, "I've heard the situation from someone, you've done well, thank you for your hard work."

Makarov was genuinely pleased.

With only a few people left in all of Magnolia, and even Magic being limited, for the children to persevere to this point filled Makarov with pride.

Besides that, before coming here, Makarov asked Hapi about some details.

Especially upon learning that Rhode had used the Moon's Drop, which he had only heard mentioned once, and also worked so smoothly with Lucy's Celestial Spirit Magic, even managing to utilize the special environment to the fullest,

Makarov wished he could immediately find Hibiki and use Ancient Document Magic to fill Rhode's head with the knowledge of the Fairy Tail Library.

He was eager to see what kind of surprises a knowledgeable Mage like Rhode could bring him.

Everyone wore smiles; being praised by the President was a joy, but more importantly, it was seeing him in such times.

Rhode handed over the medicine bottle, though there weren't many pills left.

But Makarov waved it off, "Save it for the others; I don't need it."

In their puzzlement, they saw Makarov's hands glowing with golden light.

—Magic!

Straight-up magic use, without needing medication!
