Chapter 291 - Chapter 290: Dragon Soul (Clickbait, Caution)

"It's just Fairy Tail causing trouble again."

A short sentence quickly spread from near to far into the ears of all the people who had come out to seek refuge.

After listening, everyone grumbled a few words and then went home.

They're used to it.

Before Magnolia's 'Kildas Mode' was developed, things like this were even more frequent, and every time there was some unlucky fellow who needed to rebuild their house.

This time there wasn't any damage, which is a good thing, just think of it as a disaster drill.

Among the crowd, there were actually mages from Fairy Tail.

After seeing the towering figure of the President and hearing his apologetic voice, they steadily went home to sleep.

At most, they would add a complaint:

"Damn, they're sticking together even at night, having a date on the President's shoulder is too much!"

"Sorry, President, for causing you trouble."

"No, I should be thanking you," Makarov said with great relief, "thank goodness you suggested going to such a far place."

Mira laughed, "If we listened to the President and found any place outside the city, it would certainly cause more trouble."

"Alright, I'm heading back; I need to apologize to the mayor tomorrow. As for Rhode..."

Mira raised a hand, "I'll take him back."

"Okay, rest well." Makarov nodded and left with his hands behind his back.

Mira opened her arms to Rhode, "Want me to carry you back?"

Rhode thought for a moment, "How about trying a piggyback ride?"

"Sure~" Mira found it amusing. She crouched down a little, placed her hands under Rhode's thighs, let him lie on her back, and gently lifted him up.

Anyway, it wasn't heavy for her, carrying or holding made no difference.

However, she quickly found out it wasn't the same.

"Don't let your hands hang down!"

"Oh."

After a few steps, Mira asked, "That dragon, are you planning to absorb it as well?"

"It doesn't need to be absorbed," Rhode said, "I mean, it doesn't need to be absorbed like other wild creatures."

"What do you mean?"

"Hmm... it gave me something called Mountain Dragon Soul. With that, I can directly use its power... In other words, it's like I've already absorbed it for the first time."

Mira was delighted, "Isn't that amazing?"

"But judging from today's summoning, the consumption could be terrifying. I'll show you tomorrow, maybe it'll be really cool."

Mira laughed, "Should I look forward to it then?"

As she spoke, she slightly turned her head, and Rhode took the opportunity to kiss her cheek.

"Hmm." Mira's hum wasn't angry at all; she merely nudged his head gently with hers.

Rhode smiled and hugged her tightly.

After a short distance, Mira let go and put him down, a bit flushed.

"Ahem." Rhode was a little awkward, "Maybe I should walk on my own?"

"No need, I have a better way."

"Huh?"

"Satan's Soul!"

"Hey, hey, hey..." Surely a natural reaction is not a crime worthy of death, right?

But Mira didn't hit him; instead, she hoisted Rhode onto her shoulder, spread her wings, and flew back in less than a minute.

She didn't even use the door, crashing straight through the second-floor window.

Glass shattered all over the floor; Mira casually shook off the shards from her body and tossed Rhode onto the bed.

Rhode looked at the dark ceiling, feeling complicated, like he had been taken as a mountaintop bride by bandits.

The lights in the room were turned on, and Mira was back to her usual self, looking a bit embarrassed at her own angry 'masterpiece'.

"Did you get hurt?" With insufficient magic power, mages are quite easy to get hurt.

Rhode pointed to his chest and then to his lips, "It hurts here; you need to do this to make it better."

"Sorry, it's your fault..."

Mira, blushing, leaned down and gently kissed him.

As she was about to get up, Rhode extended his hand and held her tight.

"Ah..." Mira fell into Rhode's arms, and then her body was turned, swapping positions with Rhode.

Rhode saw Mira seemed a bit flustered and placed his right hand on her cheek; when she closed her eyes, he lowered his head and pressed his lips onto hers.

Mira wrapped her arms around Rhode's neck, and the two indulged for quite a while.

Rhode's hands started to develop their own intentions.

Mira's face became increasingly flushed and alluring, her breath becoming quicker.

But when Rhode's hand touched her belt, he was caught by the wrist.

"No, you can't!" Mira turned over and pinned Rhode down by the shoulders, "You... you need to rest!"

"I'm not tired!"

"You are tired!"

Mira got off the bed to flee... but couldn't open the door.

The door was locked from the outside; she had come in through the window.

Breaking another door would be too much, so Mira had to tiptoe back.

Rhode was sitting by the bedside, looking bothered, trying to figure out whether she was angry, shy, or just worried about his condition.

Mira felt awkward too; staying would be inappropriate, but leaving might make her seem angry, and that could upset him. Maybe she should say something...

"Um..." *2

They looked at each other, and Rhode took her hand, "I was too hasty, don't be mad at me."

"I'm not, that's not what I meant, today you... we'll tomorrow... no, next time... not that! I mean in the future... anyway... ahhh!"

Mira was incoherent, her face growing redder by the minute, this kind of thing was hard to articulate: "Anyway, anyway... I'm leaving, see you tomorrow!"

It seemed like nothing was said, yet everything was said.

Rhode smiled, helping her tidy up her slightly disheveled clothes and hair, "See you tomorrow."

Mira escaped, flying out the window with a particularly graceful move, "I'll find someone to fix your window tomorrow!"

"Saying something like that while escaping makes me feel like a flower thief..."

Rhode sprawled back onto the bed, like he had finished collecting flowers before leaving?

...

While practicing at home, Elfman suddenly felt a powerful magic power approaching.

He opened the door to see Mira in Satan's Soul form, confused, "Sister? Is there an enemy?"

After a pause, he asked again, "Why is your face so red?"

Mira resisted the urge to touch her face.

She looked up and down at Elfman, bursting into laughter when she saw the sweat on him, "Training? Great, feels like it's been a long time since I coached you."

"Sis... sister?" Elfman was about to shut the door.

Mira grabbed Elfman's wrist and threw him into the courtyard, "Come on, use the Beast King's Soul."

...

The next morning, Rhode and Mira were handling guild matters as usual.

Mira nervously asked, "Feeling better?"

Rhode nodded, "Yeah, my magic power is fully restored."

Mira was a bit tense, her pen almost about to snap, "Why didn't you come for breakfast (at my place) this morning?"

"Ah, well, maybe I was a bit tired, woke up too late this morning."

Rhode stuttered, not about to admit he took a shower and washed his clothes, which delayed him.
