Chapter 243 - Chapter 242: Similar Magic, Evenly Matched Opponents

Letting him go alone, Rhode still felt uneasy, so he assigned a squad of Stone Beetles, a squad of Beaked Birds, and a squad of Shadow Wolves as reinforcements.

This way, even if they encountered a large enemy force, there would still be a chance to escape.

As for the Red, Blue, and Nest Insects which consumed more magic power...

Under these circumstances, sending them out would be somewhat disrespectful to one's own life.

"Oh? A touching farewell drama? But unfortunately, I have no desire to watch such a performance."

Rastillos waved his hand again, "Guardian Saint Beast: Belfast the Hurricane!"

Another gigantic monster appeared out of thin air.

It looked like a dinosaur, dragging a long tail behind it, clad in the same steel armor as the previous one, roaring as it chased after Elfman.

"Summoning, Crimson Marked Tree Monster!"

The Tree Monster swung its sharp claws, striking the 'dinosaur' on the mouth with crimson flames.

With a clang, sparks flew from the steel armor, and a piece of armor was sent flying.

The massive body of the dinosaur staggered from the Tree Monster's slap, shaking its dizzy head and roaring before lunging at the Tree Monster.

The four massive creatures engaged in a tangled battle, with clanging metal sounds constantly ringing out as the surrounding wild grass, shrubs, gravel, and flat ground all suffered damage.

The golem and the horned beast seemed evenly matched; one occasionally losing stone chips, the other's steel armor dented and pitted from the blows.

The Tree Monster had a slight advantage in its fight against the dinosaur monster, likely taking down the dinosaur monster shortly.

Yet, the two who summoned these giants weren't focused on the creatures, both considering a mutual issue:

According to the common sense of the Magic Realm, if the opponent was a Summoning Element Mage and their summoned beast was strong, then the body should be weak!

Rhode thought individuals skilled in both aspects should be exceptions.

Rastillos also thought his companion, who used Summoning Magic but had a strong body, was also an exception.

The two strangers reached a bizarre understanding at that moment, though their gazes towards each other became quite aggressive.

Let's give it a try!

"Let me show you my imagination—Sword of Damocles!"

"Summoning, Deep Red Beaked Bird, Flying Feathers!"

Dozens of intricately and luxuriously crafted treasure swords shot at Rhode, and over a hundred feather-like red projectiles soared at Rastillos.

Faced with the dense attacks, both ascended into the air simultaneously.

A pair of small white wings appeared on Rastillos' feet, while Rhode's arms turned into red wings:

"On my feet exist the Celestial Horse Wings that allow free flight!"

"Receiving Magic: Deep Red Beaked Bird!"

The ornate longswords and feathered flying knives lodged where they stood, both startled at each other's ability to fly.

However, Rhode had a smooth mini-combo, being able to use 'Flying Feathers' after receiving the Beaked Bird.

Another hundred feathered flying knives fired at Rastillos in mid-air, with Rhode calculating his opponent's flight speed, slightly expanding the coverage.

"In my left hand is the Shield of Gold that repels everything!"

A peculiarly shaped golden shield appeared out of nowhere, deflecting all the feathered flying knives meant for Rastillos.

Again, both formed a similar thought: "This guy isn't an ordinary Summoning Mage."

"Receiving Magic?"

"Requip Magic?"

Rastillos was certain of his judgment, yet Rhode overturned his own guess.

Although the showcased method seemed similar, Rhode believed the person before him wasn't using typical Summoning or Requip Magic.

As a mage understanding both summoning and requip aspects, Rhode sensed no spatial fluctuation characteristic of those magic types.

Could it relate to the 'imagination' he mentioned?

It couldn't possibly be that whatever he imagined became reality! Otherwise, why bother raiding this small village?

Both landed back on the ground, still positioned on opposite sides of the four beast battlefield.

"Hahaha, quite a performance!" Rastillos now cared little for the fleeing white-haired man, assuming someone would handle him.

This guy in front is more interesting, able to continuously use magic similar in function to his own.

But still...

"Do you think you can withstand unlimited imagination?" Rastillos spread his arms.

Purple-black magic power, possibly magical effects, gathered and swirled around him like a vortex.

Rhode felt the opponent's immense magic power.

Purely in terms of magic volume, he couldn't compare.

However, if the battle dragged on, then leveraging the recovery ability of the Crown of Insight, a victory wasn't unattainable.

Besides the foe in front, Rhode worried over two other places.

Using the River Crab's vision, he saw Elfman reach the mountain edge without issues for now.

Yet Warm and another River Crab found a town, successfully borrowing a Communication Magic Crystal.

Warm couldn't use it, but a black-suited official helped connect to Fairy Tail's Communication Magic Crystal.

Viewing Mira through the Communication Magic Crystal, via River Crab's vision, felt oddly uncanny.

As Warm showed two handwritten notes from Rhode, Mira's expression in the Magic Crystal turned anxious.

Soon Mira's picture disappeared, replaced by the President.

Uncertain of what was said, the black-suited official started writing, then showed it to the River Crab.

"Do not rashly engage in conflict, I'm sending reinforcements immediately."

Rhode smiled bitterly, conflict's already begun.

Luckily, Demon's Heart shouldn't be out in full force; otherwise, surrounded by seven Rastillos-like beings, he'd probably be finished.

Once the communication was severed, Black Suit quickly contacted the Advisory Council, clearly knowing about Demon's Heart's Dark Guild weight.

Fearful perhaps of such dangerous figures near the town, bringing ruin like Monotropa.

Boom!

"Aow~~" The steel-armored dinosaur monster was hit again by the Tree Monster, finally collapsing with a sorrowful cry, its body gradually dissipating.

"Belfast!" Rastillos didn't expect his Guardian Saint Beast to fall so quickly.

Noticing Rhode's state, rage surged: "You insolent fairy, facing demons yet distracted! Don't think you're in control!"

"Reveal yourself! My third Guardian Saint Beast, Arctic Ice!"

"And the fourth, Blizzard Antakotic!"

An ice-crystal giant bear and a snowy mammoth appeared at his sides, each letting out a skyward roar, thundering towards the Tree Monster.

Rhode winced; can this guy summon an endless swarm of these creatures?
