Chapter 581 - Chapter 131: Rebecca's Night

The top-tier penthouse in Gem Cyan, after being renovated according to Mercer's requirements, can almost be said to fulfill all of Mercer's aspirations for a luxury home.

The duplex design of the top-floor penthouse has a living room, kitchen, gym, equipment room, conference room, security room, and nanny's room on the first floor.

From the living room, there is a huge terrace, outdoor swimming pool, barbecue rack, and even a massive outdoor projection film area.

Moreover, a part of the terrace is deliberately elevated to serve as a parking area—in fact, apart from the hovercar, it could even accommodate a helicopter.

As for the duplex's second floor, although its area is slightly smaller than the first floor, its configuration is equally complete.

The master bedroom, guest bedroom, and a remodeled study for deep diving, as well as a workshop for storing personal equipment.

The master bedroom and two guest bedrooms are very spacious, with the master bedroom designed as a suite with a separate small living room, bedroom, and a large study connected.

Although the guest bedrooms don't have separate living rooms, they come with individual walk-in closets and bathroom configurations, while the entire second floor also has a shared small living room by the glass railing, overlooking the first-floor living room, and equipped with a bar storing drinks.

Looking out from the top floor, the distant views are unobstructed, and one can even see the large Ferris wheel of Taiping Prefecture; at night, the scenery of Dog Town, though lacking some appeal, reveals the neon lights of Night City in the distance.

When Mercer stood at the outdoor bar, squinting and feeling the high-altitude wind blow past him, it seemed as though even the stench pervasive in Night City had diluted significantly.

It was only at this moment that Mercer somewhat genuinely felt a sense of 'success and fame.'

"Hey, Old Wei is here, Mercer, stop zoning out there, at least help entertain the guests!"

V's voice complaining inside the house brought Mercer back to reality, as Old Wei, now looking around with admiration, upon seeing Mercer, couldn't help but ask: "Did you have another surgery on your upper body?"

"You can tell?" Mercer laughed as he returned from the balcony, without further ado, embracing Old Wei warmly.

Old Wei gave his back a strong pat: "Have you really turned yourself into Adam's Hammer?"

"Just a little modification on the upper body..." Mercer smiled and changed the subject: "How is it? My new home?"

Victor marveled at the living room's decor: "It's really nice, I never thought there would be such a good place in Dog Town."

He usually didn't keep up with the activities of the upper class; in most people's understanding, Taiping Prefecture is shabby enough, and Dog Town even worse.

Mercer laughed heartily: "Take a seat, Old Wei, I'll get you something good."

Without further ado, he retrieved a bottle of exquisite whiskey and cigars from the liquor cabinet—these were part of Hansen's collection, all pricey items.

In the kitchen, V, Lucy, and Dolio were bustling around.

Jack and Mann were still playing billiards on the first floor's pool table; upon seeing Old Wei arrive, Jack cheerfully put down his cue and walked over: "Old Wei, long time no see, how have you been lately?"

"Just the same, unlike you all, living in places like this." Victor shook his head in amazement, then curiously asked: "Didn't you invite Misty?"

"Of course I did, but she's now downstairs with my mom in my room, said she'll come up later..."

Jack said, while Mercer, who was sitting on the sofa ready to take a rare drink with everyone, asked with interest: "What does your mom think of Misty? Is she satisfied?"

"At first, she thought Misty was a bit... um, not like a good girl, but once they really talked, she had no complaints; you know, Misty is a good girl."

After Jack finished speaking, he complained happily: "It's just now she's always urging me to get married soon... I don't know why my mom is in such hurry."

As soon as he finished speaking, there was a sound at the door, and Mrs. Wilson stepped out of the elevator together with Misty.

The two ladies slowed their steps slightly upon seeing the luxurious decor before them.

"Welcome to my new home! Mrs. Wilson, and Misty." Mercer smiled warmly as he stood up to welcome them.

Mrs. Wilson was meeting Mercer officially for the first time—though she'd seen him once at the Wild Wolf Bar, she'd only really chatted with V, who occasionally went drinking and bragging.

At the moment, she was slightly awkward and uneasy, considering Mercer could be seen as Jack's big boss, yet his youthful looks resembled a just-turned adult, which made her somewhat uncomfortable.

But only for a moment, then this streetwise lady quickly composed herself, greeting politely yet warmly: "Mr. Mercer, thank you for inviting us to your home."

"Just call me Mercer; Jack is my brother, and Mrs. Wilson, you can treat me as your junior." Mercer smiled and lightly embraced Mrs. Wilson, then turned to Misty with a smile: "Long time no see, Misty."

"Long time no see, Mercer, congratulations on moving into such a great new home." Misty smiled and gave Mercer a hug, before naturally finding a spot beside Jack.
