Chapter 300 - Chapter 79: Day of Vengeance (Part 3)

After taking all the money and gold bars, Mercer turned and looked at William James, saying, "How much money is in the vault?"

"...Not much, probably only a few hundred thousand Euros."

After William James finished speaking, Mercer sneered, "Are you joking with me? Just the group of gamblers in the lobby downstairs have transactions worth hundreds of thousands in one night. Do you guys move all your cash out every day?"

"I'm telling the truth! Large wagers are paid via online payment or Money Chips. Those large funds, whether from online payments or Money Chips, we move them out every day. Only the large volumes of cash settle weekly."

William James said mournfully, "We're just a small casino here, where do we have millions of Euros of reserve funds? When we need to pay large amounts, we also use anonymous Money Chips to transfer money.

If you'd give me a bit of time, I..."

Mercer shook his head and looked at Rebecca, "Go downstairs, take the money and leave."

"Okay!"

Rebecca angrily grabbed William James's only remaining intact arm, directly dragging him from the ground towards the door.

William James's wailing echoed through the corridor, silencing the VIP room on the second floor, but Mercer remained indifferent and continued dragging William James down the stairs.

As he walked, Mercer hacked into the first-floor cameras and took control of the Sixth Street Gang in the lobby.

By the time Rebecca dragged William James down to the first floor, the lobby had already descended into chaos.

Mercer signaled Rebecca to fire a shot, and then Rebecca lifted Iron Gall and blasted the ceiling.

"Everyone get out!"

The hall descended into chaos, screams filled the air, and some people took advantage of the chaos to collect chips and loot. What Mercer needed to do was send a Sound Wave Shock to those who weren't running yet, telling them not to waste time.

Rebecca did the same. Seeing some taking advantage of the chaos, and even some seemingly wanting to 'play hero', she picked up Iron Gall, aimed at a card table, and fired again, scaring a female dealer into screaming and dropping her pistol before turning and running.

The gamblers fled one after another, and only then did Mercer and Rebecca drag William James to the room next to the chip exchange.

William James cooperatively opened the door to that room; the cash vault was just behind it.

At this moment, all the employees inside had long fled, so William James could only plead with Rebecca to let go before he got up to input the vault code and opened the vault.

Mercer stood at the door, not going in. He then turned to Rebecca and said, "Don't go in, keep an eye on him, I'll get the money bags."

Having already planned to rob the casino, Mercer naturally prepared bags for the money in advance, but he hadn't brought them inside for convenience.

"Okay!" Rebecca nodded and then looked at William James, who looked pitiful and was leaning against the wall.

Mercer left quickly and returned with the large bags for cash, only to see William James, with even broken legs, feebly sitting against the wall.

"He just tried to crawl in."

Rebecca immediately explained.

"Well done, this vault is reinforced with concrete, this guy probably wanted to crawl in and hide. You go pack the money, I'll watch here for you to avoid being locked inside." Mercer cautiously instructed.

With that, William James's lingering hope was completely dashed.

He indeed had such a plan; whether to lock these two inside or hide himself, he could activate the vault's emergency lock system to seal the vault door entirely.

Rebecca gave James a cold glance, took the large suitcase, went inside, and began packing the money. She roughly stuffed all the cash from the racks in the bag, not knowing how much she packed.

Until the suitcase pillaged from William James's office was full, she zipped it up and picked up two heavy bags with one hand, "Let's go!"

Mercer nodded, giving William James one last look, "Finish him."

Rebecca silently looked at William James leaning against the wall, his eyes devoid of hope, and finally raised Iron Gall with one hand: "How does it feel to have everything taken from you? Huh?"

William James just let out a sad laugh, "Give me a quick death! Can you?"

He knew he was doomed. If he could die quickly, it would be a relief.

Rebecca gritted her teeth and pulled the trigger silently two seconds later.

Iron Gall blasted his head into pieces against the wall, and Rebecca turned away without hesitation, looking at Mercer, "Let's go."

"That's it?" Mercer was somewhat surprised by her decisiveness.

Rebecca felt no sense of cathartic revenge, only an inexplicable emptiness. She nodded gently, "That's it."

Mercer knew this wasn't the time to talk, so he didn't press further. He just overclocked the server and set the casino server room on fire.

Because in this world, most buildings are made of shoddy polymer materials; once a fire starts somewhere, it quickly spreads and burns the entire building.

Then, Mercer and Rebecca walked out together. At that moment, at the end of the street, Polaris came roaring over with its unmanned Jun Mizutani.
