"Come on, let's test the efficiency of your synthetic body and see how it performs."
Victor said, as Mercer returned to the surgical chair.
Once the data cables were connected and the scan started, Old Wei's voice came from next to his ear, "Let's first test the time dilation ratio of your Synaptic Accelerator."
Mercer answered with a hum, and with just a thought, the Synaptic Accelerator in his brain was activated.
Similar to the Krenzikov, the Synaptic Accelerator is a neural enhancement device that puts one into a bullet-time state upon activation.
Mercer felt everything in front of him suddenly slow down, but the scene seemed strangely familiar to him.
As he pondered, he realized why it felt familiar — wasn't this the same accelerated thought state he instinctively entered during deep diving?
He could feel his brain becoming extremely active at that moment, while the exhaust panel on his back suddenly opened with a mechanical hum emanating from his body.
Mercer could clearly sense the cold liquid circulating within his body, whether it was blood or coolant fluid, rapidly speeding up its flow to cool down his system.
His heart pounded violently, blood being nearly squeezed out by the machinery to participate in the circulation as his lungs were forcibly expanded by the synthetic body to enhance his breathing.
Mercer heard the sound of air being inhaled and exhausted from his back, with the cooling systems connected to his lungs practically oxygenating them with machinery.
Meanwhile, the cooling pipes used wind power to dissipate heat, with large amounts of heat being expelled directly out of his body while cold air from outside was drawn in to circulate through the synthetic body and himself...
This series of powerful cooling measures provided Mercer with a greatly enhanced thinking acceleration powered by the Synaptic Accelerator.
Silent, Mercer patiently observed for about seven or eight seconds before he manually turned off the Synaptic Accelerator.
Once his thoughts returned to normal, he felt slightly dizzy, with faint pain in his lungs and heart.
"How is it?"
Victor's expression was a bit tense, "The data I see is somewhat exaggerated...
Technically, although your Synaptic Accelerator can theoretically achieve up to 72% time dilation, it doesn't mean everyone can directly adapt to and achieve such peak speeds.
You've almost overclocked the Synaptic Accelerator, how does your body feel? Can it handle it?"
"I can handle it. It feels pretty much the same as when I was deep diving — I've once directly connected to a large server, using its computing power and professional cooling, experienced similar situations during deep diving.
It's fantastic, Old Wei, this means I can accelerate my thoughts in the real world just like during deep dives!"
Mercer's expression was one of excitement, "Let's try networking. I need to test this new Network Access Vault!"
"Alright... take it easy, it's best to let your body adapt first." Victor's face showed concern.
"Let's test to see how much of my capability this Network Access Vault can unleash." With these words, Mercer eagerly initiated the Network Access Vault in his head.
Mercer's eyes flickered with a faint light, "Fantastic! The speed and amount of data transmission are almost double that of my previous junk model!
The delay is very low, incredibly low! Almost close to the delay I experienced during deep dives!
I have to try the limits after Brain-Machine Overclocking..."
Before Old Wei could respond, he had already initiated Brain-Machine Overclocking.
The cooling system behind Mercer roared back into action, and as he sat cross-legged on the chair, Old Wei could even feel the heat emanating from his back.
"Very good, excellent! For the first time, I didn't feel my head heating up the instant I overclocked... the cooling is enough to support at least fifteen seconds of Brain-Machine Overclocking without any impact!
What about with the Synaptic Accelerator?"
In the state of Brain-Machine Overclocking, Mercer activated the Synaptic Accelerator in his brain.
At that instant, he felt the world come to a standstill.
Ordinarily, Brain-Machine Overclocking would already accelerate his thought processes, but with the additional Synaptic Accelerator, his brain's operational speed and information processing surpassed even the speed he experienced during deep diving!
His brain started uncontrollably heating up again.
The cooling hum roared almost like a beast, and Mercer felt as though his chest was housing a car engine, rumbling thunderously.
Mercer attempted data transmission using the Network Access Vault, eying the equipment in Old Wei's clinic.
Cameras... Hacked in 0.2 seconds, with all feeds connected to the Prosthetic Eye's display signal.
The networked computer in Old Wei's room, infiltrated into the target subnet, then uploaded Sorcery Puppet to gain control... only took 0.5 seconds!
This wasn't Mercer's limit; rather, the machines themselves had limited data intake per millisecond. Any faster, and they'd risk overheating from excess data reception.
For Old Wei, everything happening was somewhat terrifying — Mercer's cooling system roared like an engine in an instant, and the heat from his back almost formed a white mist.
All the networked devices in the room emitted noises they normally wouldn't make, with their processors and cooling systems working overtime.
"Hey! Mercer!"
Victor raised his voice anxiously.
Mercer finally blinked and halted his actions; before he could speak, his expression suddenly changed slightly.
