Before I could respond, Lu Xiaoran said, "Grandpa Zhou, you don't need to worry about anything. Coincidentally, I have my own issues with Lin Chen, so he won't have time to bother with you. I'll make sure of that." He said this with a smile, while Jessica, walking beside him, glanced at him and blushed a bit. This guy now talks like a typical hero every time he opens his mouth. I think I should provide some more training for both of them. As I thought about this, I remembered Roman. I hadn't heard from him since he took that woman named Sherry. Just then, I received a call from Roman on my system watch.
When I connected to the call, I asked, "Roman, are you alright? Is everything okay on your end?"
Roman replied, "Master, I am fine, but the plan has gone a bit wrong."
Vik: "What happened?"
Roman: "Master, I think I accidentally killed Sherry."
After hearing that, I told him I would reach his location soon. I then looked around and told Lu Xiaoran, "Lu Xiaoran, you need to take these villagers back to society, then go straight to the mansion. I have some important work to do."
With that, I left him with Old Man Zhou and the other villagers. After walking a little distance away, I looked for anyone nearby. Not finding anyone, I teleported to Roman's location.
When I arrived, I found myself on the outskirts of the city in an abandoned warehouse. Roman was standing there, and in front of him was Sherry, the admissions counselor from some academy who had helped Lin Chen. She was as quiet as a corpse.
I walked closer to Roman and asked, "Roman, I told you not to go overboard."
Roman replied, "Master, I just punched her once, and after that, she fell into this state. Her heart isn't beating."
Vik: "And how did you punch her?"
Roman: "I used my thunder element power in my fist, condensing it, then releasing it when I connected with her. I came up with this move; I call it 'The Superman Punch.'"
This move sounds like something out of a fighting TV show, where wrestlers pretend to fall. Now, this guy had punched her, possibly killing her in the process. This could get serious because we needed to deal with this body.
As I thought about how to dispose of her, the system chimed in, "Host! She is still alive."
Vik: "What do you mean?"
System: "Host! She is in a coma. If Roman could give her a shock, she might wake up."
After hearing this, I ordered, "Roman, give her an electric shock."
Roman followed my command and summoned a large electric spell, sent it to her chest, and with a jerk, she woke up. Seeing her awake, I let out a sigh of relief. She looked around with confusion. I worried she might have serious brain damage.
Sherry: "Where am I? Who am I?"
Now that she said that cliché line, I knew I had to be careful. I had Roman stay alert, ready to give her another shock if needed, but I stopped him. Seeing Sherry's state made me feel pity, so I said, "Roman, let's take her with us. Once she gets her memory back, we can ask her about Lin Chen's secrets."
Following my order, Roman looked at Sherry and said, "Your name is Sherry, and you need to come with us."
Sherry: "I remember you. You're that electric guy who shoots electric shocks from his hands."
Vik: "???"
I think she misunderstood Roman, but I didn't have time to waste. I teleported all of us into the manor. There, I saw Lu Xiaoran sitting on the sofa. He must have dropped off those villagers and returned.
Seeing Sherry, he asked, "Master, who is she?"
I explained everything to him. Since Sherry didn't know anything, she needed care and medical treatment. I asked the system to prepare a special room for her, equipped with medical supplies. I told Roman to put her there. She resisted a little, but Roman calmed her down like a child; he had experience with that.
With Sherry's problem temporarily solved, I sat back on the sofa with both of my disciples in front of me. Looking at them, I said, "Disciples, today's plan was successful, but now we have to prepare for the next step."
Lu Xiaoran asked, "Master, what will be our next step?"
Vik: "Disciple, our next step will involve gathering information about Lin Chen's crimes. We need to find out more about his friends and partners. We're going to make him isolated by slowly taking down the people around him."
Roman spoke up, "That will be a tough job, Master. Lin Chen is well-connected with the prominent people in this city, including those from major families like the Richards, Backels, and the most powerful, the Xia family."
When he mentioned the last name, he looked at Lu Xiaoran. I guess that family is related to his ex-fiancée. I remember that the Xia family originally supported the Lu family, but now they stand with Lin Chen.
Lu Xiaoran looked at me and said, "Master, I want to add something. The current Lu family is also supporting Lin Chen. We can't forgive them, even if they were my family."
Hearing this, I smiled and said, "Lu Xiaoran, we only need to identify the possible enemies. It's not like we're going to kill every one of them. We're not bloodthirsty demons."
Vik: "These plans are secondary. My first goal is to make you stronger because against absolute strength, all schemes are useless."
