Chapter 213 - Chapter 213: We Are All in Trouble

Surfing was not difficult for Beta. Sino guided her hand-in-hand, and Beta learned it quickly.

Sino created waves, and the two moved in front of the waves, feeling the thrill of surfing.

At this moment, a large fish leaped out of the wave.

It crashed towards Beta.

Beta hadn't expected a large fish to suddenly appear in the sea.

She remembered that there shouldn't be such large fish in this part of the ocean.

Sino was the first to spot the fish.

With a wave of his single hand, a Magic Hand gripped the large fish and threw it directly onto the shore.

The large fish struggled on the shore, but it was in vain.

"That fish will be perfect for a barbecue!" Sino said.

Beta nodded.

Soon, the two felt that surfing had lost its novelty.

They started playing beach volleyball together.

But they couldn't use magic.

Without magic, it was all about reaction time.

But both of them had quick reactions, and they played for an hour without either making a mistake.

Finally, Sino chose to let Beta win.

After all, today was Beta's birthday.

It was better to let her win.

Then, the two divided the labor to prepare the large fish.

As Beta worked with Sino, she looked at him with tender affection.

"Working with Brother Sino feels like we're a married couple. It's truly too blissful!" Beta thought, beaming with self-satisfaction.

Soon, the two worked together to roast the large fish.

Beta fed Sino, and Sino fed Beta.

They fed each other... Unconsciously, the sun began to set, and it was already dusk.

Beta felt very happy today; Sino had played with her all day.

The sunset reflected on the sea, creating a beautiful scene.

Beta lay in Sino's arms, and they watched the beautiful sunset together.

"Brother Sino, I want it!" Beta said, her face flushed, as she gazed at Sino.

"Little glutton, this is the fifth time today!"

"But it feels so incredibly blissful! The feeling of becoming one with Brother Sino is truly wonderful."

"Then..."

...Late at night, Sino brought the sleeping Beta to Susan's room.

Since she was already asleep, it wasn't suitable for long-distance travel.

It was too late to ask Susan to arrange a room, so bringing her to Susan's room was the best solution.

It would only disturb Susan.

Susan had just been sleeping when she suddenly sensed someone, only to find that there was an additional Lady Beta in her bed.

The sleeping Beta was still giggling foolishly and drooling.

Susan silently wiped away Beta's drool.

She intended to completely forget the incident of Beta drooling in her sleep.

"Beta will stay with you for now. I have something to do, so I'll be leaving!"

"Yes, Lord Phantom!"

Sino could tell that Susan was one of the few women in Shadow Garden who had no designs on him.

So he didn't want to stay and bother her.

In truth, Susan wasn't entirely without thoughts; she had simply recognized her place, believing that Lord Phantom would certainly not touch a small-time person like her.

After all, she wasn't an outstanding presence in Shadow Garden.

A few days later.

Epsilon woke up on time, as usual. As soon as she got out of bed, someone informed her that she had mail.

"Mail for me? Who could it be?"

Epsilon opened the envelope.

It was a letter from Beta, detailing everything that had happened on Beta's birthday.

Sino's intimate actions towards Beta were described in extreme detail, using exaggerated rhetoric.

As Epsilon read, her back molars nearly ground to dust.

Epsilon calculated her own birthday; it was still half a year away.

"Darn Beta, using her writing skills to deliberately write this for me to see."

Epsilon took out a piece of paper, intending to write about her previous date with Sino.

As soon as she recalled the event, Epsilon began to giggle foolishly.

She had no desire to write at all.

When she came to her senses and looked at the paper, she realized she seemed unable to write.

She could imagine the scene, but she couldn't express it in words.

Epsilon stared at the blank paper for a long time, without any idea how to even begin writing.

Epsilon remembered Sino's words.

Everyone is different; they have different talents. For example, Epsilon, you have a very good musical talent.

And Beta has a talent for writing.

Competing in writing with Beta, who has a talent for writing, was indeed not very rational.

Epsilon found the King of Oriana and asked if anything had happened recently.

He said nothing had happened.

Then Epsilon stated that she had something to do and would be away for a while, and would not return unless something important happened.

Currently, the Oriana Kingdom only had minor matters, which didn't require Epsilon's presence at all.

And so, Epsilon departed. She intended to find Sino.

Recently, she had suddenly found inspiration; a certain melody lingered in her mind.

She felt that as long as she saw Sino, she would be able to successfully compose her first piano piece.

When Sino taught Epsilon piano, he discovered that Epsilon was a genius.

Epsilon could firmly remember a piece after hearing it just once.

She completely memorized the piano keys after being told about them only once.

Some pieces, Epsilon could even play after Sino had played them just once.

She was indeed a genius in music... In the Midgar Kingdom, Sino returned to his residence as usual.

Two figures appeared in his room: Christina and Alexia.

The two often came to Sino's place to stay overnight.

Sino didn't bother them and went to sleep himself.

Alice, in her own room, was not asleep.

That day, after Alice left the Crimson Knight Order, the members of the Crimson Knight Order reported that Marc had injured their members and escaped.

This infuriated Alice.

Marc had been severely injured by her at the time.

Could those people not even capture a severely injured man?

And they were even injured by him in return.

Coupled with Sino's domineering presence, Alice had been hiding in the palace for the past few days, afraid to go out.

She was terrified that Sino might still want her to do something humiliating.

She didn't have the courage of Princess Rose to casually call Sino 'Master' in front of outsiders.

Let alone any further contact.

Just thinking about it made Alice tremble with fear.

In that instant, she felt truly weak, afraid of Sino and only daring to hide in the palace... Meanwhile, in a dark corner of the Midgar Kingdom's capital.

Elisa, carrying some ordinary but warm food, actively distributed it to some beggars.

Perhaps because she had once been a beggar, she could empathize with them.

As she was distributing the food,

A beggar holding a magic sword said, "Thank you."

Elisa felt as if she had seen this person somewhere before.

The beggar also found Elisa familiar.

Their eyes met, and they recognized each other.

This beggar was Marc.

Marc had been branded a traitor, dared not stay anywhere, and did not want to harm others, eventually falling into beggary.

He now possessed great strength but had become a beggar.

Seeing Elisa, Marc remembered everything.

From the moment he saw Elisa, the gears of fate began to turn.

He was discovered and pursued by Elisa, then she spared him, then Christina appeared, then Sino appeared.

Marc still remembered Sino's words.

"You have the face of a protagonist, but do you have the fate of a protagonist?"

Marc gradually understood his meaning; from that moment on, Sino knew his fate would be turbulent.

But at the time, he didn't understand; he only wanted to serve Lady Alice and become a useful person.

Faced with Alice's false accusations, Marc didn't know what meaning any of this had, or what the meaning of all his efforts was.

The moment he recognized Elisa, Marc felt some hatred. This woman was the beginning of everything.

But when he saw the other beggars like himself, all holding steaming hot buns,

Marc decided that the person in front of him couldn't be a bad person. Bad people wouldn't give alms to beggars, and she had given him a bun too.

Elisa couldn't understand how Marc had fallen to such a state.

Although Marc's strength wasn't particularly great,

He was still a figure of some standing.

Even her strongest subordinates couldn't take down Marc in a short time.

One must know that she was now essentially the spokesperson for the underground forces in the Midgar Kingdom's capital.

Her guards were still very strong.

Even so, they couldn't defeat Marc.

She didn't harbor any hatred towards Marc. Christina had already told her not to worry about Marc; that list wasn't anything important, so it was fine if Marc knew about it.

Elisa and Marc were merely strangers who knew each other's names.

"Why are you here?" Elisa asked.

"What about you?"

"I'm giving alms to beggars. I used to be a beggar myself."

Elisa didn't think that having been a beggar was anything shameful.

On the contrary, it was proof of her growth.

"Someone like you was a beggar?"

"Aren't you the same?" Elisa retorted.

Marc didn't know how to answer.

"Come with me! I will provide you with a clean place to stay," Elisa said.

"Then why don't you take care of the other beggars?" Marc asked.

"The Chasing Stars Society doesn't need the weak. This world is about the survival of the fittest. People without any value are not worth saving, but you have value."

"To put it plainly, you just need my strength!"

"Everyone is like that. I am just one of them. If I had no value, perhaps I would have died already!"

"People without any value are not worth saving, so why are you giving food to these beggars?" Marc retorted.

"I want to, so what's it to you!" With that, Elisa turned and left.

It was as if whether Marc followed her or not was irrelevant.

Marc eventually followed her.

No single sentence in their previous conversation had moved Marc, except for the very last one.

"I want to, so what's it to you."

"Clearly kind-hearted, yet she tries to act cold and ruthless," Marc thought to himself.

Elisa arrived at her home. This was originally a house under her father's name, which later became someone else's property.

Not long after she became the acting head of the Chasing Stars Society, this mansion was hers again.

Calling it a mansion wasn't quite accurate; it was an estate.

The guards at the gate, seeing Elisa, immediately pushed open the large doors.

At the same time, they bowed their heads to Elisa.

Just as the guards were about to drive away Marc, who was dressed as a beggar,

Elisa stopped them.

"Let him follow me!"

Marc followed Elisa into the mansion.

The maid opened the door, welcoming the owner of the estate.

"Take him to wash up and prepare a clean set of clothes for him."

"Yes!" the head maid respectfully replied.

Elisa returned to her room and began to write some plans for the future of the Chasing Stars Society.

At the same time, she began to consider what she needed to do to help Princess Alexia successfully become the King of the Midgar Kingdom.

A moment later, the maid knocked on the door.

"Mistress, Mr. Marc, whom you brought, has finished washing up."

Elisa tucked what she had written into a drawer.

"Come in!"

Marc walked in.

"Sit down and tell me your story! How did you end up as a beggar?"

Marc's experiences were only known to Shadow Garden and The Order; the Chasing Stars Society didn't have the capability to know about Marc's affairs yet.

Marc hesitated for a moment but still recounted his experiences... "The Order is indeed terrifying! They can easily twist black and white."

"You know The Order?"

"I do. You should have heard of the Thirteen Night Swords, right?"

"I've heard a little; they were the underground organization in the capital before, weren't they?"

"Let me tell you what I know! The Order existed before the Thirteen Night Swords appeared; they were the Thirteen Night Swords' partners. Rather than partners, The Order was the superior of the Thirteen Night Swords. They are the darkest organization in the world, basically capable of anything."

"Then why haven't I heard of The Order before?"

"Because you weren't qualified. Such secrets are only known to people at the level of kings, and some kings don't even know the name of The Order."

"The Order has existed for over a thousand years!"

"Over a thousand years? That's as long as this country has existed!" Marc exclaimed.

"And from beginning to end, our Chasing Stars Society has kept a respectful distance from The Order, not daring to cause them any trouble."

"Then how do you know these things?"

"Lady Christina told me, and Lady Christina's information came from Alexia. I don't know anything more about The Order."

"And what about Shadow Garden?" Marc asked.

"I know absolutely nothing about that. Although Shadow Garden is an organization that has only appeared in recent years, it is even more mysterious and powerful than The Order. I can't find any information about them."

"Yet, they know everything about me."

"How do you know that?" Marc asked.

"A hunch, I suppose!"

"Then do you need me to do anything for you?"

"I need a strong and trustworthy bodyguard. Are you willing?"

"Didn't you have a powerful person by your side before?" Marc retorted.

"But I didn't trust that person."

"And I can make you trust me?"

"My intuition tells me you are trustworthy. You don't seem like someone who would easily change their stance for profit."

"Perhaps not necessarily."

"Then I would have trusted the wrong person, and I would only have myself to blame."
