Chapter 96 - Chapter 75: The Paralysis of Splishy Splash, Ash the Humanoid TM, Digging Pikachu

"Splash!"

The surging waves roared across the field, completely submerging Raichu. The water rushed out, crashing against the wall outside the arena before gradually subsiding.

Lt. Surge was soaked on one side, but he didn't care at all. More than being soaked by the Surf, he wanted to know... how the hell could Pikachu Surf?!

This is freaking unbelievable! How does a Pikachu know how to Surf? Normal Water Type Pokemon can't even learn this move, right?

You're an Electric Type Pokemon, how did you create such a powerful and awe-inspiring wave, do you have enough Water Type energy?

Plus, the water felt weird, too. As the water brushed against half of Lt. Surge's body, he felt a slight tingling paralysis, like touching an electric current.

Is there electric current contained within this water?

"How...how is this possible?!"

"No way! I must be hallucinating! A Pikachu that can Surf? And the power of this Surf is so huge!"

The two staff members exclaimed in disbelief, their faces looking like they had seen a ghost.

They were also Trainers and had been with Lt. Surge for quite some time, having seen at least eighty, if not a hundred, battles. But they had never seen or even heard of a Pikachu that could Surf!

A Pikachu creating waves dozens of times larger than its body, is that even legal?

Not just Lt. Surge, even Misty and Brock, who had been with Ash day in and day out, were stunned.

The heck, it had already learned a move with speed comparable to Extreme Speed before and had a high chance of a critical hit (actually a guaranteed critical hit).

Now it's even more ridiculous, it can Surf too! And it seems like Pikachu has to wear a hat to learn and use these moves, what is that hat? A move learning machine? How can just wearing a hat teach such absurd moves!

"When did Pikachu learn this move?" Misty swallowed, subconsciously asking Brock.

Brock shook his head blankly and replied, "If I knew, I wouldn't be as shocked as you are..."

This was yet another move secretly trained by Ash and Pikachu. They knew Ash got up about two hours earlier than them each morning to train, so this move was likely learned during that time.

The previous moves and Pikachu's improvements were all secretly learned and enhanced during that time.

But the question is… can you really learn a new move every time during that period? Is that what you call a golden morning two hours? So easy to learn new skills?

And every time you learn a new move, you don't use it during daily sessions, only when challenging a Gym. What's the deal with that? Hiding things from us?

So who exactly is Ash learning from to always keep something hidden?! Is it Professor Oak?

On the field, Ash's mouth curled into a sly smile, slightly sarcastically saying, "So Uncle Lt. Surge, do you still think my Pikachu is just a baby?"

Lt. Surge: ...

Haha, if that counts as a baby, then his Raichu is at best a slightly stronger kid, and it might not even beat this baby.

Lt. Surge felt something was wrong from Pikachu's first attack, as if that Pikachu had jumped from Advanced Level to Elite Level. Such a leap in level is not small, but he didn't care much.

Let's not say whether he was mistaken or not, even if Pikachu truly is Elite Level, so what? His Raichu is at Professional Junior Level!

A whole tier above Pikachu!

An Elite Level Pikachu is indeed rare, but in front of him, it's just a paper tiger... or so he thought.

But when it came to a real fight, it wasn't like that. The supposed paper tiger seemed to be him instead.

The entire match, Raichu had no chance to counterattack, lying on the ground after enduring two moves from the opponent, and the Surf move was no less powerful than a Water Type Pokemon of the same level.

What kind of monster is this?!

"Kiddo, I admit I might have underestimated you a bit, but the gap in level isn't something you can easily bridge with tricks. It was my oversight earlier, but now... are you ready to face defeat?" Lt. Surge cracked his knuckles, the sound echoing, his expression turning serious.

You could tell he was about to get serious, and Raichu stood back up from the ground. Though the previous moves caused some damage, his blubber wasn't just for show.

"Go Raichu, show them your electric power, use Thunderbolt!"

"Rai...Rai..." Receiving the command, Raichu no longer suppressed the anger in his heart, channeling it into a desire to attack, gathering electricity within him!

However, just as the Thunderbolt surged through him, he suddenly felt his energy flow was blocked and a paralysis sensation engulfed him, immobile!

Paralyzed? How could an Electric attribute Pokemon feel paralyzed? Was it the electric type move just now that caused this paralysis? Don't be absurd! He's an Electric attribute Pokemon!

"Paralyzed? Here's our chance, Pikachu, use Nasty Plot!" Ash initially intended for Pikachu to use Zippy Zap to dodge, but seeing Raichu's reaction, he instantly realized it was paralyzed!
