Brock also leaned over Ash's map, and after searching with him for quite a while, they finally managed to roughly determine their location. Then, with his finger, he pointed out the direction they should take next.
From Brock's words, it seemed like they could reach Vermilion City soon, but only if they didn't get lost anymore.
"Oh right, my Aura Power can extend to a radius of fifty miles and see the terrain around us within that distance. This should make it easy to find our way back to the normal path!" Ash suddenly clapped his hands, looking enlightened.
Hearing this, Misty's face froze, and her eyes slowly turned to Ash, becoming increasingly fierce: "You had this ability... why didn't you mention it earlier!!!"
The angry Misty reached out her fair little hands to strangle Ash's neck, shaking him continuously like a ghost from the underworld.
"Alright, alright Misty, let's have Ash find the route first," Brock quickly intervened, trying to prevent the situation from escalating.
If Ash reacted instinctively, Misty might not fare as well as Team Rocket.
Upon hearing this, Misty did release Ash's neck. In fact, although she was very angry earlier, she hadn't used much force. She understood the seriousness of the situation, but couldn't help being a bit irked.
Luckily, Ash cooperatively stuck out his tongue, pretending to be almost choked to death, which dissipated most of Misty's anger.
Seeing Misty release her hands and her face not as angry, Ash guiltily expanded his Aura Power to start exploring the surrounding route.
No wonder Misty was so mad; had he remembered this function of his Aura Power earlier, they probably would have been in Celadon City by now instead of just heading to Vermilion City!
But after all, he did capture a Bulbasaur along the way, so maybe a blessing in disguise!
"...Found the road, it's over there!" In just a moment, Ash had already scanned the surrounding terrain and found the road to Vermilion City on the map.

Seeing how quickly Ash resolved the matter, Misty nearly lost her temper again.
You have such an easy, effortless ability, yet you waited until today to use it, and the reason was that you forgot!
This really is infuriating!
"Aura Power is truly convenient. I checked some data about Aura Power on the computer at the Cerulean City Pokemon Center. It's a power that only a few Pokemon can wield, and nobody else has such versatile abilities like Ash. Moreover, there's no record of anyone possessing this power. Ash, you're really something special," Brock remarked with a face full of awe.
There was no need to speak more about the various wonders of Aura Power; its rarity was off the charts. Among humans, apart from Ash, no one else seems to have this power.
Even among Pokemon, Aura Power is mostly only used for Aura Sphere and some wave-related skills, nowhere near Ash's abilities to navigate and create barriers.
These functions were likely unlocked by Ash's thorough study of Aura Power. Previously, Ash's knowledge might had been limited because he spent so much time studying Aura Power.
Hearing this, Misty also silently recalled the various miraculous functions of Aura Power Ash had demonstrated, gradually dispelling her anger.
A Newbie Trainer, with power comparable to or exceeding that of elite-level Pokemon, strong training talent, imaginative tactics, caring for Pokemon, and rapidly growing experience in breeding Pokemon.
Even if slightly goofy, Ash is quite the captivating figure. If the girls outside were to know of Ash's capabilities and energy, they might swarm around him.
An outstanding Trainer is really popular.
Thinking about this, Misty's gaze towards Ash grew stranger...
"Ah! There's a Pokemon with a really weak Aura over there. Let's go check it out!" Just as Misty was silently watching Ash, his sudden shout almost scared her soul out.
The heartwarming moment from a second ago disappeared, replaced by a strong urge to pummel Ash!
Ash didn't shout for no reason; while using his Aura detection, he discovered a Pokemon with a very weak Aura on the path they were heading to.
