Chapter 15: Roshin, the Expert at Burying People
Standing on the second-floor balcony, watching the sneaky delinquent, Roshin felt the frying pan in his hand itching for action.
After completing three commissions, Roshin clearly felt he had grown stronger. Most importantly, he now possessed a Vision.
In Roshin's view, a Herrscher core was probably equivalent to something like a Gnosis. While a Vision couldn't compare to a Herrscher core, it was more than enough to deal with an ordinary person.
Roshin touched the Vision in his hand, feeling a gentle breeze wrap around him, making his body lighter.
Though this was his first time using a Vision, after listening to Barbatos sing in person, he had gained a buff.
[Blessing of the Anemo Archon]: You are a friend favored by the Anemo Archon. For the next half hour, you can proficiently control the Anemo element.
Though the buff's duration was short, it was more than enough for now.
With the Vision's enhancement, Roshin leaped effortlessly over the one-meter-high railing and jumped down from the second floor.
Thanks to the Anemo element's protection, Roshin landed without making a sound. Just like that, he stood silently behind the delinquent, completely unnoticed.
Seeing the delinquent still oblivious to his presence, Roshin raised the frying pan.
Thud!
A dull sound echoed through the quiet night.
The delinquent collapsed on the spot.
The frying pan in Roshin's hand was none other than Red Wolf's frying pan, possessing special attributes. Combined with Roshin's Furniture Mastery—since frying pans counted as furniture—his strike was perfectly measured.
No need to worry about accidentally killing the guy.
"This guy probably came to get revenge on me, right?" Roshin looked at the unconscious delinquent on the ground.
"Kinda feels like that big pit the Herrscher of Sentience smashed open might come in handy…" Roshin muttered to himself.
No time like the present. Roshin grabbed the delinquent by the collar, showing no concern for his well-being, and dragged him toward the backyard.
He could even hear the sound of the delinquent's clothes scraping against the ground.
Thanks to his increased strength and the delinquent's sturdy clothes, Roshin didn't have to exert much effort to haul him to the vegetable garden.
"First, I'll go home and grab a shovel, some rope, and a bucket," Roshin thought as he headed back inside.
He had kept a shovel at home for some commission involving gardening—though he couldn't remember whose—but now it was finally proving useful.
Moreover, Roshin never expected that his mastery of furniture would also grant him proficiency with a shovel.
After the enhancement from commissions and the boost from his Vision, Roshin's digging speed in the backyard increased significantly. It took him only six minutes to dig a hole deep enough to bury someone standing upright.
However, before tossing this blond troublemaker into the pit, Roshin, adhering to his philosophy of "robbing the rich to help the poor" and upholding justice, first searched the guy's belongings.
"Only a little over 200 bucks? What a cheapskate!" Roshin scoffed at the still-unconscious blond. "And here I thought you were some infamous school bully."
"Then again, mobile payments are all the rage now, so it makes sense that he'd carry less cash," Roshin mused. Using the guy's fingerprint, he unlocked his phone.
WeChat.
Alipay.
True to his reputation as a school bully, the combined balance across both apps totaled around 2,000 yuan—a substantial amount for a student. After a moment's thought, Roshin transferred the money to his own account, again using the guy's fingerprint.
As for evidence, Roshin deleted the transaction records, though he knew it was practically useless since the payment platforms' backend data would still retain them. No matter—he could always ask the Herrscher of Sentience to tweak the guy's memory later. After all, this was for their shared living expenses. Otherwise, Roshin wouldn't even bother with such petty cash. The Herrscher ought to pitch in, especially since she was out there "upholding justice" herself. Their actions were fundamentally the same.
Besides, this jerk had dismantled Roshin's 200,000-yuan bicycle over a dozen times. If they were to calculate compensation, 2,000 yuan wouldn't even begin to cover it. Thankfully, his parents reimbursed the repair costs under the guise of "normal wear and tear," or else Roshin wouldn't have been able to afford the repairs himself.
As for human rights… Roshin had long believed that those who committed heinous acts of school bullying forfeited theirs. Murderers killed bodies; bullies killed souls, leaving behind lifelong psychological scars.
In a way, Roshin—constantly victimized by this bastard's bike dismantling—was also a target of the blond's bullying.
"Maybe I should just give this phone to Venti…" Roshin pondered, eyeing the device.
Those who live by the sword must be prepared to die by it. Not that Roshin planned to kill anyone—this was far from worth taking a life over. He wasn't some demon. Burying the guy overnight would suffice. Once the Herrscher of Sentience tweaked his memory, he'd emerge a reformed man.
But then…
"This scumbag actually has nude photos of others? And they're all guys? He's even blackmailing them? And there are so many victims?" Roshin's eyes narrowed as he stumbled upon the guy's chat logs while transferring the money.
Any lingering guilt vanished instantly.
He delivered another kick for good measure.
"Hmm… On second thought, I'll keep it for now. Let's see what the Herrscher brings back this time. Can't function in the modern world without a phone anyway."
Decision made, Roshin pocketed the phone without a shred of remorse.
Now, onto the burying. First, he needed to tie the guy's hands.
Actually, burying someone with just their head exposed isn't completely reliable, because some people can indeed wiggle their way out. So tying up their hands is a must, and their feet should be bound too.
Better safe than sorry.
Next, throw the person into a vertical pit and fill it with dirt.
This process took Roshin two minutes.
And because Roshin was worried the other might die from chest compression, he left a small breathing space around their chest area.
Although Roshin intended to teach them a lesson, he didn't plan to kill them.
If he really wanted them dead, he wouldn't have transferred the money to his own phone first.
Since he left breathing room around their chest, they wouldn't suffocate—though this did make it easier for them to struggle free. But Roshin had also tied up their hands and feet.
Evil begets evil, and Roshin despised school bullies the most.
Next, he took a rag and stuffed it into their mouth, then wrapped ten layers of tape around it to ensure they couldn't scream or spit it out.
Finally, he placed a large bucket over their head.
This way, if they woke up and started screaming, the sound would be muffled, barely audible, if at all.
Since the bucket was quite large, they wouldn't be able to knock it over by thrashing their head around.
Moreover, the edges of the pit Roshin dug weren't smooth, so it was impossible to completely seal the other person inside. Some air vents were left to prevent suffocation.
"Whew, that was exhausting." Roshin spent 15 minutes burying the other person thoroughly.
"Still, getting 10 Primogems isn't bad." Roshin glanced at the notification on his talent panel.
[You defeated a delinquent and obtained 10 Primogems]
"Was he judged as an enemy the moment he showed hostility toward me? Well, that works. But 5 Primogems is a bit stingy, isn't it? Just slightly more than snatching a lollipop from a little girl. What a pathetic weakling. Embarrassing."
Roshin picked up two bricks from the garden and placed them on top of the bucket to keep it from being blown over by the wind.
"If he still manages to escape from this, I'll treat Venti to 10 glasses of apple cider tomorrow!" Roshin thought to himself as he admired his handiwork.
