"What do you want?" Kieran asked one evening. "Long-term. For our eternity together."
Adrian considered. "I want to keep helping people. Healing bloodlines, coordinating species, building peace. But I also want time for us. Time that's not crisis management."
"We could travel," Kieran suggested. "See the world properly, not just rushing from one emergency to another."
"I'd like that."
"We could also..." Kieran hesitated. "There's a vampire tradition. Building a legacy together. Creating something that lasts beyond us."
"Like what?"
"A sanctuary. A place where supernatural beings can come for healing, refuge, knowledge. We could build it together—your healing abilities, my resources, our combined vision."
Adrian's eyes lit up. "That's perfect. A physical representation of what we believe—cooperation, healing, peace."
They spent hours planning, their excitement building. The sanctuary would be massive, beautiful, open to all species. A place where the values they'd fought for could flourish.
"This is our future," Kieran said. "Not just reacting to threats, but actively building something positive."
"I love it. I love you." Adrian pulled him close. "Make love to me. Celebrate our future."
