"I actually like this offer, but shhhh!"
Sam looked like he was confused and did not want to give up his lottery winnings, but he was also tempted to get that Harvester.
"Hey! Tell you what, you visit me in my home, I will show you that machine, and you might like it. Ask for Kinsley's house in Halstead, it's on your way home, perfect for everyone. Also, take this $2,000 and enjoy your stay. I am going to leave the town now. You don't have to worry about this money."
Micheal, saying this, handed Sam 20 hundred-dollar bills, then left the shop with his friend Andrew. Sam was confused—how can a person be this nice while deceiving?—but his eyes got clarity when he saw a small Sig Sauer handgun behind Micheal, this man was not afraid of getting robbed at all.
Sam smiled, his interest in the Harvester was not diminished at all. He was more interested now after that system ping. He calmly pulled out his wallet as he walked outside and stuffed the $2,000 with his $220 in the wallet.
I have to first call Jericho Implement Co. to know why they would exchange an old model for the flagship-level harvester.
Sam calmly walked out of the store while throwing a barely sipped soda bottle in the trash can, his goal was achieved, and he doesn't need to drink the soda he didn't like anymore.
Sam walked calmly to the OJ's Pizza Cafe, where Rose and Clara were seated, opening the door first. He was greeted with a smiling waitress, she looked very endearing and welcoming for some reason. Looking past her, Sam could see Clara's curly blonde hair and Rose's silky black hair, but they were talking with someone.
.............................
"I said, 'We don't want to be friends with you.'"
Clara rolled her eyes at three boys who approached them from the corner of the shop, they looked like high school students just like them, but Clara and Rose could tell what type of boys they were: bullies. They were high school bullies who threw parties and had never heard the word 'NO.'
"I don't see why not. Being friends means nothing."
The boy who was leading the pack replied with a cocky smile, his ears were pierced, and the hair on the side looked bleached. His friends were also a bit unique-looking, one was fat, and another was super muscular.
"Well, I just don't understand why the hell we need to be your friends."
Rose was rather calm in this situation, these boys don't scare her. She deals with Jack, a buffalo-sized human, on a regular basis, it's just that they were causing a scene in the middle of a shop.
"Because we are hosting a barbeque tonight, you can come if you become friends with us."
"Gentleman, Did you know 'NO' is a complete sentence?"
A calm voice came from behind the pack leader, then a gentle pat on his shoulder. He looked back and had to look up to meet Sam's eye. Sam was standing there with his left hand in his pocket and a light smile on his face.
"W… Who the hell are you?"
The pack leader tried to move, but the hand that was patting his shoulder felt heavy, he was not sure if he wanted to mess with this guy.
"Does it matter who I am? Enjoy your pizza."
Sam moved the leader from his place by simply dragging him by his shoulder, the smile on his face never left its place. As the leader moved, so did the rest behind him. Now Sam was standing between Clara and Rose's table and these boys.
"Do you really want to mess with us?"
The leader snapped out when Sam removed his hand from his shoulder, he was gritting his teeth in anger.
"Sure, why not?"
Sam was never the one to back down with such pathetic threats, his calm and gentle smile almost looked insane in a tense moment like this.
"Excuse me, Is there a problem here?"
The nearby waitress intervened after she calmly placed the big mugs of beer on the next table, she looked at the smiling Sam and three boys who looked nervous with her bored eyes. She was a middle-aged woman who couldn't care less about this teen banter.
"I don't have any, I just wanted to join my friends here."
Sam came clean as soon as someone from the restaurant cut in, he was not a cocky person either, and public scenes are not his thing.
"I… We are going to go. Hey!! Come "
The leader, seeing he was cornered, didn't want the situation to escalate either, he wanted to pick some cute girls. The trouble was the last thing he wanted right now, he is doing community service now. He yelled at the table, and then a few more boys walked out of the corner.
"Hey!! You know Jack? I am his sister."
Rose suddenly said when she saw a familiar face among the boys that came out of the corner, hearing Jack's name. All of them paused, they can't compete with Jack, not in size nor in friends.
"I am sorry about that."
*Jingle*
They left the place without making any other remarks. Clara and Rose were seated together, so Sam sat across from them with a sigh!
"Where were you? It's been almost ten minutes we are seated here."
Rose asked, looking at Sam's face with a questioning gaze. Sam, on the other hand, calmly handed the car keys to Clara.
"Met an old acquaintance, and he dragged me inside the grocery shop to have a soda or beer. I couldn't say no because he used to ride with Grandpa. I didn't even know Grandpa rode bikes back then."
Sam was more impressed now that he realized his grandfather also used to be a cool dude back in the day.
"Yeah, my grandfather also used to ride bikes, I have a picture in my house. They look like they belong to some biker gang."
Clara nodded her head hearing the information. Sam does not live where his grandfather used to live, so it was natural he doesn't know much about his grandfather.
"alsoIwonalottery."
Sam almost whispered fast, thinking they wouldn't notice what he just said and he could skip this part as their negligence.
"Wait, wait, what?"
