Ariana was about driving off when she got another message. She picked up her phone to look at who had texted. It was her fiancé.
"I am home. But I'd be leaving soon. You can come now". His text said.
Ariana heaved a sigh of relief and drove towards his house. Getting there, she knocked and waited. After some seconds, the door was wide open with her fiancé standing before her. Tall, pale-skinned, muscular, blue eyed and dark haired. His handsome looks were another reason Ariana loved him.
"Come in" he said as he stepped out of the way to let her pass.
"Do you want something to drink? Watch a movie?" He asked, walking towards the kitchen.
"No, not really. Thanks" she replied.
"Rodrigo I told you I was having a bad morning and you're acting like nothing happened" Ariana continued, slightly irritated. Rodrigo was causally picking up chips from his kitchen counter.
"Babe, I was going to ask you about it so relax." He said as he walked towards his room to get what only God knows before joining Ariana in the living room.
"So, what happened?" He sat beside her while chewing on some chips. He was a loud eater, one could hear every munch and gulp while he was eating. Ariana had already accepted his behavior but today, she was already pissed before meeting him and his loud munching and gulps just irked her more but she didn't say a word about it.
Rodrigo Sanchez was a successful wealthy business man. He had what most men and even women desired.
Wealth, good looks, influence.
But Ariana never fancied him until her parents setup a blind date with him. She disliked him at first because he was full of himself but in a long run, she saw his good side.
The Sanchez family and the Sterling's saw the relationship as an opportunity to better their status and increase their income through business alignments and strategies. So whether she liked it or not, she was going to get married to him.
Rodrigo on the other hand, agreed it to because not only will the relationship and business ties benefit his bank account but also his desires. Ariana was a breathtaking woman. She had an hourglass shape, long wavy burgundy colored hair and piercing ice blue eyes. She was also intelligent and when it came to the business world, she was an asset.
A desirable woman.
Their relationship wasn't the best but Ariana had grown to love Rodrigo.
"It's about the company. My parents made Ava the president instead. It's so infuriating! After all my hard work!" She complained.
She poured out everything on her mind and he listened.
"That's a lot" he said with his accent evident.
"What do you plan on doing?" He asked.
"I don't know. I really don't" she sobbed.
Rodrigo pulled her close, trying to coax her.
After few minutes of silence, Rodrigo held her face in his palm. "My love, it's going to be fine. Don't worry, I'd give you a high position in my company instead" he said.
Ariana retorted "As much I appreciate you offering this, I don't want to work in your company. I want something that I worked for. Taking a position I didn't work for just because we're engaged isn't right".
"So tell me what you want; anything and I'd give it to you". He began placing soft kisses on her forehead, making her giggle.
"I'd think about it. But most likely, I'd like to have a business of my own." Ariana said.
"We'd work on that" Rodrigo patted her head and Ariana smiled.
Rodrigo had a proud look on his face, like he had won a gold medal just for making her happy.
"Let me get you something" he said as he stood up from the couch and headed towards the kitchen once again.
Ariana laid back on the couch till she felt a tingling sensation below indicating she was pressed.
She stood up and walked towards the bathroom. After she had relieved herself, she was about exiting the bathroom when she saw a tank top hanging from the head of the shower.
Her brows furrowed as questions filled her head.
"What was a woman's tank top doing in his bathroom?".
She grabbed it and walked out of the bathroom, back to the living room where Rodrigo was now sitting with a bucket of ice cream and cookies in hand. Ariana's favorite snack.
"Rodrigo, what is this? Who does this belong to?". Ariana tried her best to be calm. One hand gripping the tank top and the other clenched by her side.
"Oh that. It belongs to Bella, my cousin. You know I wasn't home few days ago and Bella just moved to this side of town. The days I wasn't home, she stayed over because she hadn't found an apartment yet. She found an apartment yesterday so I think she forgot that".
The explanation rolled off his lips so easily and so believably.
Ariana's brows furrowed. "Bella? The same cousin you told me takes a two hour drive from the country side just to come visit you at the office at times?".
Rodrigo nodded.
"But you live in a freaking mansion. There are other rooms, why didn't she stay in one of them. Why yours?" Ariana raised a brow.
"I don't know love. I really don't". Rodrigo had a calm expression.
Sighing, Ariana said "You both are really close then. I'm sorry but for a moment I thought you were cheating on me. I've had a rough morning and well-" she paused as she sat beside Rodrigo and placed the tank top by her side.
"Sorry for doubting you" she continued before placing a soft kiss on his cheek.
"Don't apologise my love. I understand. For you" he handed her the ice cream and cookies and a smile quickly appeared on her face.
