My name is Sirius Black, and I never thought...
I just got off the bus to use the restroom and got arrested—really, is relieving oneself in America such a strict offense?
An hour earlier, as I looked at the two men in black appearing beside me, for a moment Sirius was a bit confused, so confused that he even forgot to shake off a few drops, "Oh, good evening, gentlemen, are you also here to..." he instinctively asked, while his right hand was already reaching into his pocket.
"Imperio."
A warm current surged into his brain, and Sirius's attempt to resist was instantly slowed and stiffened. Moments later, the hand he had raised was lowered, and in the following silence, he simply pulled up his trousers as if nothing had happened.
The man in black standing behind and to the right of Sirius seemed to breathe a sigh of relief, and lightly flicked his magic wand.
Thus, Sirius began to move, following the two men as they walked toward the other side of the forest.
Soon, a clearing appeared in the midst of the pitch-black forest, looking empty until they got close enough that it felt like passing through a barrier, the blinding technique disappearing, revealing a brightly lit bonfire in the center of the clearing.
Blood, screams, and a pungent smell of decay in the air; walking at the forefront among the three, Sirius seemed to wrinkle his brow unconsciously, though the two behind him apparently couldn't see his expression, and Sirius gave no further indication, continuing to walk forward.
The camp was much larger than it appeared from the outside, perhaps magic's wondrous nature. Entering the camp, there were rows and rows of iron cages visible, with countless magical creatures Sirius couldn't even name, their wary eyes watching the three approaching figures.
A stench seemed to assault the top of Sirius's head—being already sensitive to smells, this situation was far worse.
Where the hell is this place?
Sirius seemed to snap out of a daze, wrinkling his nose, and his steps instinctively coming to a stop.
"...What's wrong? Why did he stop?"
Noticing Sirius's unusual behavior, the man in black walking to Sirius's left stepped forward, turning to look at Sirius's face, but found him still hanging his head low, hands resting on his thighs, eyes wide but devoid of any spirit.
Therefore, the latter half of the black-robed man's question was evidently directed at his companion who had cast the Imperio curse.
"Maybe too much time has passed, I can re—"
His companion was also unsure what went wrong, but having reached this place, even if a problem arose, it wouldn't be major. This person was one of the three specifically targeted by the leader, and though they were initially just responsible for reconnaissance, they unexpectedly caught him alone—
Oh! A great achievement indeed!
So, just like encountering a solitary Tang Monk on Black Wind Mountain, the two decisively decided to capture him and take him away!
Hence, the scene where Sirius was ambushed while using the restroom. And at this moment, as the gaze of his companion turned his way, the man in black behind Sirius raised his magic wand, intending to cast another Imperio curse, when suddenly, the supposed spiritless figure made a sudden move—
Taking advantage of the momentary distraction as the two conversed, Sirius unhesitatingly smashed his head hard into the man's nose, blood splattering from the impact, even waking the cheetah in its cage, which was resting its head on its paws. Surprised by the blood on its cage, it blinked.
Forcefully breaking free from the Imperio curse caused Sirius's head to split with pain, but for someone who spent ten years in Azkaban, such pain was actually nothing, and so he didn't even utter a groan. Seeing the black-robed man before him retreat, clutching his nose, Sirius quickly switched targets, using a "bunny kick" to strike directly at the stomach of the black-robed man behind. The glowing magic wand in the man's hand instantly extinguished—
Seizing the opportunity, Sirius didn't hesitate, immediately throwing a punch at the man's face. His wand had been confiscated when he was captured, so before the other man could recover, he had to retrieve it... Just then, a dreadful feeling suddenly overwhelmed Sirius, causing him to shift his position instinctively.
The black dog landed on the ground, the sickly green electric light almost skimming its forehead, crashing into the side cage. Seeing the shattered cage door, the cheetah, which had just sat up, blinked in disbelief, then glanced at the humans who hadn't noticed it, its emerald eyes flickering.
"Avada Kedavra!"
A bolt of sickly green lightning, several times thicker than before, struck the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust. Compared to when he had just escaped from prison, the now transformed Sirius was no longer the malnourished, skin-and-bones figure. A robust black dog leaped atop the stack of cages, looking at the spot where the curse had just landed, at last realizing how terrified he had been.
Damn, that scared the hell out of me.
Who the hell are these people? Why are they using Unforgivable Curses right off the bat? Has America become so liberally free now?
Isn't there an Auror to manage this?!
While these thoughts ran wild, Sirius's eyes moved to the two who had grabbed their magic wands, and from the pile of cages not far behind them emerged two more figures in identical black robes, one wielding a wand shimmering with green lightning—the very source of the killing curses just now.
