This was the first time Su Ming had seen Albella seriously reciting incantations. The lengthy spell was practically enough to fill a flyer.
The power within her ignited like a furnace, even Su Ming, an amateur, could feel the nearby air becoming scorching hot. Strangulation dove directly into the depths of his body, snuggling against the cold X Metal to cool down.
"Last time when I was playing cards and drinking with Lucifer, perhaps because we drank too much, he taught me an ancient magic. According to him, it was something he casually picked up when he fell from the 'Silver City'. After Hell's modifications, this magic could even completely annihilate a god if directly hit."
The incantation was completed, and the power was gathering here. The intense fire collected from the Hell Plane was accumulating, and Albella's task was already over.
She summoned power; the power came accordingly, and then followed its set path to destroy everything that blocked the Hellfire.
So, besides extending one hand to point at the strange tower, she held a cigarette in the other hand, speaking drowsily to Su Ming.
"I guess there will be quite a few warlocks envying you now, not only can you still cast spells, but their power is also formidable."
Albella shook her head and spat behind her: "In reality, it's just that my time to pay my debts hasn't come yet. The difference between me and them is merely paying debts in life or in death."
"...makes sense."
Su Ming just watched in front of him, not noticing the magic floating cloak secretly sneaking a small corner into his backpack, absorbing the gemstones from a few magic staffs.
After losing their power, these gemstones turned into fine dust, and then the cloak stretched comfortably, laying limply behind Su Ming, unmoving.
At this moment, red glare filled Su Ming's vision completely; this was the largest-scale magic he had ever seen.
Not to say that Albella's magic was stronger than that of Master Gu Yi, but this catastrophic aura and the simple, crude primordial magic power were truly captivating.
Due to the proximity, beside the heatwave and flames, he couldn't even clearly see the shape of this magical torrent or how long it lasted.
All he knew was that when the bright light faded, the mage tower before them had vanished, not even the hill remained.
In its place was a crater like one struck by a meteorite, resembling a lava pool with magma burning at the bottom.
Albella casually flicked her cigarette butt into the crater; she had just sculpted a hellish baseball field.
"If you tell me you have a nuclear bomb in your gut, I'd believe it."
Su Ming nodded in satisfaction, for only magic could so easily destroy a castle situated within a spatial rift.
Of course, if he wanted to do it himself, he could, but it would just require chipping away bit by bit with the Nightfall Greatsword.
The female mage shook her head with a smile. Casting large-scale magic had left her a bit drained, but given that she usually looked languidly listless, she seemed more like she was having a bout of alcoholism.
"I suppose all I have are red innards, and ultimately, these destructive forces come from there."
She pulled a bottle out of her coat pocket with one hand, pointing to the sky with the other.
"Ah, that one's business is none of our concern. He doesn't meddle with us, we don't meddle with him, it's just fine."
Su Ming picked up Bo Bo, and the group began to head back the way they came: "Did you know that Lucifer has disappeared?"
Albella was grabbed by Diana who was flying, holding a bottle herself: "I've gotten used to it; Lucifer disappears every few days, probably off wooing someone again."
"Did you know that the Sleep Demon has disappeared too?" Su Ming asked again, the rushing wind passing by them, but his voice still clearly reached their ears, as Bo Bo and Diana widened their eyes.
The Sleep Demon was the one among the Endless Clan who dealt most with humans, and the current Master of Dreams, Daniel, was the son of the sixth Doctor Fate, Hector.
Albella sighed and shook her head: "The Sleep Demon once helped Lucifer manage hell for a while... my suggestion is, don't get involved with things related to the Endless Clan."
"But if you succeed, the benefits could be huge. Though they appear human, in reality, they are the manifestations of world rules... being recognized by the rules, you know what that means, right?"
Su Ming tempted, he still needed to find the Sleep Demon, and as a mage, Albella was very important.
"I'll consider it. I'm not interested in looking for Lucifer, but the Sleep Demon..."
............
The group returned to the Forgotten Bar, and unexpectedly, it was now crowded, with a lively and bustling atmosphere filling every corner.
The jukebox that had been playing jazz music was replaced with DJ dance tracks, only missing the light shows.
Bo Bo covered his eyes; he knew it would be like this.
"Is this a party?"
Su Ming looked around; before him were a bunch of magical girls, most under twenty years old, essentially all 'Second Generation of Demon', meaning they were daughters of famous casters.
The Black Ape climbed onto a table, searching the crowd for Trish. That little demon was throwing another party in the bar! The Forgotten Bar is a quiet place, not a nightclub!
He hadn't dropped dead yet!
"They're a small group of witches, the Skillful Sisters Association; damn it, several of their parents are top-notch sorcerers."
Diana stopped Bo Bo from trying to shout at them, pulling him down: "No need, they're still children; the mistakes of their parents shouldn't be their burden."
"It's not just kids; some notorious villains also come here to teach them magic, and that's not a good thing," Bo Bo said to the female hero, having spotted the Deputy of Celestial Erosion here last time.
The Skillful Sisters Association hadn't initially planned on gathering at the Forgotten Bar; they had plenty of safe locations. After all, following the X Metal incident, Bo Bo had sided with the Justice League, and this place wasn't very safe for many.
However, the rebellious young lady Trish assured them that if Bo Bo was in the store before the party started, she'd take responsibility for getting him drunk.
The young girls thought this feasible, but unexpectedly, they were caught red-handed again this time.
"Forget it, Bo Bo, we've got serious matters to attend to," Su Ming said, uninterested in busting young girls for their parents' crimes here.
Besides, now that everyone knew the dangers of casting spells, they were just gathering to have a few drinks together.
This was a good thing for the bar too, given the increase in sales turnover.
Bo Bo scrutinized the scene again, finding no evil sorcerers, ready to breathe a sigh of relief.
Just then, he noticed a dangerous man in the corner of the bar, smoking a cigarette and sipping whiskey; it was one of the last people he'd want to see in the bar, ranking even higher than Albella.
Not just because the man's scent was enough to drive a wide circle of people away, but because wherever he appeared, trouble followed.
