Chapter 78 - Chapter 53: Finally Meeting Face to Face

The dark room was filled with silence. Except for two who were confident like Deathstroke, the other three were suspiciously eyeing their surroundings.

Only the sound of crackling logs in the fireplace could be heard, the flame continued to blaze but was destined to turn to embers.

"You're right, nothing can hide in the dark forever, not even me."

An mature, husky female voice rang out. Two people suddenly appeared like phantoms from the direction Cindy had pointed her gun, with golden lightning slowly fading from her black suit.

It was Batwoman. She was wearing a slightly different Batman Uniform, her deep blue eyes observed Su Ming from behind the helmet.

As she had guessed, this Deathstroke was not from this world. He not only knew her, but also knew Barry, this Otherworldly person. He seemed prepared yet without hostility, and from his tone, he even seemed happy.

In fact, they had just arrived. After reaching the Indian Mountain underground lab, they followed various corpses all the way, and after Su Ming and others entered the room, they arrived later and hid in the room.

Just like Su Ming said, Barry wrapped them with Divine Speed, ran along the room's walls, achieving 'Invisibility' by not leaving any trace on the retina through high-speed movement.

However, Su Ming still discovered them. Once he consciously thought in this direction, he easily associated it with The Flash. After all, in the Metal event, Barry was responsible for contacting the Multiverse's reinforcements.

But...his purpose should have been the Multiverse, like Earth 2, Earth 12, Earth 42, such worlds; why did he end up in the Dark Multiverse?

And the timing was wrong too, at this time, Barbatos hadn't gathered the Dark Knight Order nor attacked the Bright Multiverse; in the current Main World, except for Batman, everyone else should have been living their daily lives.

It seems there was some problem with the Divine Speed.

As a high-dimensional force in the DC Universe, Divine Speed is truly dangerous. Speedsters can harness its power, but it can also consume anyone.

Barry caused the Flashpoint event, rebooting the entire Multiverse. Later, in other events, he disappeared in the Divine Speed for quite a while, and everyone thought he was dead.

His nephew Wally, Lightning Boy, the Third Generation Flash Hero, was also trapped in the Divine Speed for as long as ten years.

The villains using Divine Speed almost all died because of it.

Several generations of The Flash always used a power they didn't fully understand to pursue Superhero feats. The Allen family was quite daring and even disregarded their life to do good.

In the realm of Bullet Time, when Su Ming mentioned methods to deal with Speedsters, Barry's face stiffened. The method he mentioned had indeed been proven by Deathstroke from the Main World to be effective, and he, as another Deathstroke, could obviously replicate this if he wanted to.

However, Barry didn't have the ability to accelerate cellular recovery like Wally, and the personal abilities gained from Divine Speed are different and random for each person; if he got slashed, it wouldn't be that easy for him.

Even though Deathstroke looked slow, when needed, he could be unimaginably fast, such as drawing a blade.

Briss naturally noticed this, and she sensed Barry's surprise.

"Is what he's saying true?"

"Mm, if it's Deathstroke from our side, he indeed has experience defeating Speedsters, not just once.... There are ordinary people here too; I'm not confident I can save them while facing Deathstroke and an explosion."

"Then let's leave and go with Plan B."

..............

Su Ming was also sizing up Briss. One had to admit, she gave a more dangerous vibe compared to the Bruce from the Main World described in the comics. She had more darkness and appeared tougher.

The Bruce from the Main World didn't get involved in various power struggles, but Briss would dip her hands into wars between Amazon and Atlantis.

The environment of the Dark Multiverse had deeply affected her.

But Earth -11 still had hope. Unlike other Dark Knights' Earths, it hadn't shattered to become World Furnace material in the end; it simply became devoid of life. Perhaps in tens of thousands of years, Earth would evolve new life again.

This gave Su Ming confidence. He could quietly preserve it as long as Barbatos didn't notice and the Dark Knight Order's attention wasn't drawn.

"Bat Heroine, you made us search so hard for you, but with Barry by your side, I suppose I don't need to explain some things?" Su Ming pushed over a wine glass, signaling her to sit down and talk. He changed his original plan and decided to adopt a backup plan: "But Barry, could you first go down and bring up an old man? He seems to be planning to blow up all of Gotham."

"Oh, although we might not know each other, we'll talk later... Okay, how did you know me?"

He gave Su Ming a puzzled look but actually found the entrance leading underground in an instant and, after going back and forth twice, brought out the Romans, Sofia, and Gordon.

He knew Gordon, so placed him on the sofa. As for Falcone father and daughter, they were knocked out and thrown on the floor, covered in feathers from a pillow, making them look like they had turned into poultry.

Poor Gotham villains. They might fare well against ordinary Batwoman, but once facing a real Superpower User, they're somewhat lacking in strength. Besides that brainless Sea King, anyone from the Justice League should be capable of handling this situation.

That's the DC setup: Barry's opponents are mostly Speedsters, Wonder Woman's opponents are mostly mythical figures, Green Lantern's opponents are mostly Aliens, Batman's opponents are mostly lunatics...

If the Justice League swapped opponents, they could likely solve issues effortlessly.

"Dad!"

Barbara wheeled herself beside Gordon, while Gordon seemed a bit dazed. He held Barbara's hand incredulously, feeling the warmth on it.

"You... Barbara, are you okay? You're alive?"

"Yes, Dad, Deathstroke helped me." Barbara cried, hugging him.

"That's great, that's great.... " Gordon also cried, tightly embracing his daughter: "I thought I lost you. I really didn't know what I'd do without you."

Briss sat on the sofa without taking a drink or the teapot but watched the two Deathstrokes seated side by side, thoughtfully, while speaking to Gordon: "Actually, had you calmly analyzed, you should've noticed the bullet's trajectory was off, and no blood sprayed."

"Batwoman...." Gordon's expression was complex since he didn't want her back, as she said her return would bring danger to the world. Yet, he had to admit, seeing her at the moment did bring a sense of relief.

"Ahem, Gordon, first off, Barbara was saved by us. Secondly, we came to rescue you first, so if you're looking at the Bat all gratefully, you're looking at the wrong person."

Cindy pouted, knocking her long knife on her leg armor with a clang, expressing her dissatisfaction.

"..."

Gordon looked even more bewildered since Deathstroke had always been Gotham's most wanted, yet he realized now that he had neither the stance nor the ability to apprehend her.

"I'll settle the cost of rescuing Director Gordon with you, whether cash or transfer; you can choose," Briss interjected. She leaned back on the sofa, her face completely shrouded in shadow, with her index fingers crossed in front of her, observing Su Ming's face: "So, who are you exactly? And what do you know?"

Su Ming raised an eyebrow with a smile, turning to Vico Vali, who seemed thrilled like it was Christmas: "Now the director is rescued. He must want an exclusive interview. Barbara can appear on camera, and my demands on your TV station can be canceled."

Vico handed the camera to Pete, took up the microphone again, and led the drowsy Gordon father and daughter out the door, understanding Deathstroke had something not to say in front of her, but she restrained herself.

"Don't forget my reward." Vico mouthed silently to Su Ming.

Su Ming glanced at Cindy, who nodded, indicating she'd handle this business.
