The sun rises on a new day, it's light driving away the darkness, reveals the carnage that had occured throughout the night. Dried blood covers the ground having seeped into the dirt, while the lifeless corpses of Reapers, their eyes frozen, locked in their final moments, broken and battered tell of the violence that had occurred throughout the night.
Nearby with bloodshot eyes, their bodies covered in wounds and exhausted. Runt, Scar and Bighead continue to keep watch over the rest of the family. Overwhelmed by the nights ordeal, the girls each had collapsed into a heap desperate to rest their aching and weary bodies.
The father and sons, wary of another attack, continue to guard the family through the night. While the rest of the family sleeps the boys, ever vigilant, nurse their injuries as the wait for dawn.
Scar looks over his family seeing their sleeping forms and taking in the sight of their injuries, before his eyes ultimately settle upon Runt, Bighead and Breeze huddled up next to one another. Recalling how they had each laid their lives on the line to protect their family he his filled with pride.. as well as frustration...For without them none of them may have made it through the long and gruelling night.
Seeing that the Reapers are unlikely to return, Scar grunts at his two boys urging them to rest, while they can, before its time to continue on their journey. The boys ,already starting to nod off, listen to their father as each settles down for some well deserved rest.
Hours later with the sun high in the sky the family, having rested, awaken and gather together to take a quick drink from the river before they set off. Following the river north against it's flow the family continues on their journey.
A few uneventful days later, having traveled nearly a hundred miles following the river. The family comes to a stop at the far edges of the forest. Stepping out of the shade and into the light, the siblings eyes widen in shock and awe...
Off in the distance they see a ring of mountains, sharp and jagged like teeth, that tower to the sky. Rising past the clouds their bodies are covered in growths of colossal, crystal spires radiating with energy. They guard a calm and crystal clear lake, with a single massive tree growing beside it....
The tree, narly and twisted, stands at a height of nearly a hundred feet. White petals adorn its branches that spread wide covering nearly the entirety of the lake. It's trunk is nearly thirteen feet wide black and harder than iron, its roots run deep burrowing and weaving around a giant crystal growing out of the lake.
The lake is surrounded by a vast and verdant grassland. Its emerald blades and white flowers dancing in the wind, while groups of creatures move about, grazing upon it as far as the eyes can see.
Scar urges his family forward, as the siblings come out of their shock, they move together with their parents as they all make their way to their final destination...
With insects buzzing and the wind whistling through the air the family makes their way across the grasslands towards the tree. As they approach, the denizens of this paradise greet them with friendly chirps and grunts.
Before them is a plethora of beasts from spikebacks, to long necks, and even beasts they had never seen, mixed in with others of their own kind!! All gathered together with their offspring, to enjoy the bounty and safety of this unique paradise.
After days of brutal travel, and close calls, the family has finally arrived!! Runt and Breeze, unable to contain their excitement any longer, eagerly rush forward to explore their strange new home.
The rest of the siblings follow as they each soon start to enjoy themselves. Runt begins running circles around the tree while Bighead scratches his back across it.
Breeze settles in for a nap, while Jade basks in the sun, and Ember begins to forage nearby. Scar and Brook, seeing their children safe and content, settle down and relax by the waters edge.
Runt having tired himself out settles down onto the soft grass enjoying the breeze. As he makes himself comfortable, Bighead approaches. He Assumes his older brother is here to cause trouble once more.
Runt snorting, stands up defiant and ready to face his stubborn brother. Unexpectedly Bighead, let's out a soft grunt, as he lowers he head. His body showing the telltale signs of submission, he isn't here to fight.
Bighead had always assumed that his lil brother was weaker than him due to his size. However after their encounter with the Reapers he realized... that without Runt he might have lost of his life.
Seeing his older brother swallowing his pride Runt with soft eyes decides to bury the hatcher as the two brothers embraces one another.
The family is at peace and all is well in the world... but unbeknownst to them the greatest danger they will ever face is about to rear its ugly head..
Deep in space, death approaches.. having traveled for untold millennium a cluster of asteroids ,with one nearly a mile wide, is on a direct course towards the primordial world....
Their family is safe, united and ready to face any challenges that may come their way.
With the setting sun, and having played for a while Runt gathers with the rest of his family as they prepare to settle down for the night.
As he makes himself comfortable next to Breeze, he looks up into the vast and empty space. Watching as the sun disappears across the horizon and stars begin to gather and sparkle in the night....
Suddenly! As the last rays of light leave and night descends a cluster of stars begin to fall, their tails sending streaks across the sky.. Enraptured Runt and his family stand to observe this unusual sight.
Out of the cluster one star grows far larger as it approaches becoming so bright it brings daylight back to paradise. Afraid the family watches, their breath held in fear, as it crests over the mountains, roaring like thunder, flying past the tree into the distant horizon. Falling out of sight before a sudden and brilliant flash illuminates the night before disappearing as quickly as it came.
With it gone, darkness returns and the family breaths a sigh of relief only to be startled and knocked off their feet as the earth shakes. Death has descended..
