Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Jeez, could be a little nicer, lady. Kael thought, But hey, at least she is really hot with the chestnut colored hair, beautiful hazel eyes, and especially with those enormous breasts and impressive figure of hers. I wonder how she will be in bed.

"Ahme, do you need anything else?" She says in disdain, staring at me with piercing hazel eyes

"Um," Kael coughs, "I wanted to ask… does the guild infirmary happen to be hiring?"

The clerk raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "You're looking for work already?"

"I figured it'd be good practice," Kael said, scratching his cheek. "I'm a healer, but I'd like to gain real experience before heading out on quests, you see, plus I really like helping people."

She seemed impressed by his earnestness and stopped looking at Kael disdainfully. "That's responsible of you. Let me check if there is anything open right now." She takes out a book behind the desk, flipping through the pages until she stops on a page. "Yes, actually. The infirmary is short-staffed since a few healers joined the expedition team not too long ago in a newly discovered dungeon. If you're registered and can cast basic spells, they'll likely take you."

A flutter of relief filled his chest. "Thank you."

She smiled again. "Ask for Sister Renna in the guild infirmary, ground floor, west wing. Tell her Mira sent you, and she'll know you're a good one."

Kael bowed slightly. "I'll do that, thank you very much. I'll be on my way now." He turns and leaves. He crossed the hall toward the western corridor. He couldn't help but glance at the adventurers standing near the quest board, waiting for their next adventure of Bounties, rescue missions, and dungeon raids.

"Once I get strong enough, I'll start doing some of these, but for now, I should focus on growing stronger, and thanks to this system, I'll be stronger in no time," He thought.

He turned the corner into the white-stone hall marked INFIRMARY. The scent of herbs filled the air around him. As he entered the infirmary, he saw healers working quietly over injured adventurers behind the partitioned beds. On a few of the beds, some just had bandaged arms, others had faint burns on their body.

A woman in gray healer's robes looked up from a patient's cot. Her silver hair was pinned neatly beneath a veil, her eyes calm but sharp.

"Oh, hello there, how may I help you, sir?" she said, looking at Keal up and down, trying to see if he was here because of an injury.

Kael gave a respectful nod. "Yes, ma'am. I'm Kael Dorian. I just registered as a healer today at the guild, and I was hoping to see if I could help out here to gain some healing experience and learn a thing or two before I step out into the world of adventure. Mira sent me here to see if there are any openings."

Renna studied him for a minute, studying him up and down, "This boy is clearly a novice," She sighs "Alright kael since mira sent you I'll give you a chance but if you mess up I want you out I don't have time for mess up right now" then she gestured toward a cot with a young mage laying there with burn marks going up his arm. "Show me what you can do. That boy burned his whole arm on a fire spell he tried to use, but got interrupted midcast, so it backfired. I want you to heal him."

Kael approached the patient, the apprentice mage, who was holding his arm with a pained expression on his face.e

He drew a slow breath, raising his hand. A silver light gathered around his hand as he whispered, "Recovery."

The silver light wrapped around the boy's injury, smoothing the cracked skin and blisters, which began to fade and disappear visibly. Within moments, the light vanished, and only skin as smooth as a newborn baby remained on the mage's arm. The boy blinked, shocked, flexing his fingers and moving his arm around in disbelief.

"It doesn't even hurt anymore; it feels brand new. Thank you so much, man!"

Kael grinned. "You're welcome, man, it's Good as new now. Next time, be careful out there and maybe try practicing quick casting so this won't happen again."

Sister Renna's brows lifted, eyeing the mage's now healed arm. "Clean technique and no sign of the previous injury, I've got to say I'm impressed, Keal. Have you trained before?" she says, looking him in the eyes with a spark of interest and curiosity.

"Oh no, never, this is my first time doing this," Kael said with a half-smile. Never knew healing magic could be this strong, he added silently.

Then, a faint chime rang in his mind.

───────────────────────────────

Target healed: Severe burn (shoulder to wrist).

Severity rating: High.

Healing Points acquired: +12 HPts.

Bonus: Efficient Mana Use (+3 HPts).

Total gained: +15 HPts.

───────────────────────────────

Kael's pulse quickened through excitement as he read the numbers on the panel.

Fifteen points for one heal, hell yes. Once I'm done here today, I'm sure I'll get a good amount of work done. Keal thought to himself. He dismissed the panel with a thought, and he turned to see Renna staring at him weirdly.

"Are you all right? You were staring into space for a minute," Renna asked.

He scratched the back of his head with a smile. "Hehe, yeah, sorry, I'm good. Just getting used to using healing and using mana on someone."

"Good, you'd better get used to it because we've got plenty more people to get to," she said simply with a smile. "Now get to work, Keal, you are still in your trial period."

Kael straightened his shoulders and stood up. "Yes, ma'am, I'll get straight to it." He looked around at the other wounded adventurers.

All of them could make me stronger and bring me to the peak, he realized, then winced at his own thought. No, that's not why I'm here. I'll heal them because I can. The points are just a bonus, kinda. I still want to get really strong and get a bunch of beautiful women.

He moved to the next bed, and the next healing each adventure at their beds, some with basic Cuts, others with Fevers, and others with dangerous gashes on them. Keal was healing for two hours straight until he sat in a chair in a corner, exhausted, using almost all his mana. "Fuck I'm tired. I never knew this would be so exhausting," he says as he looks at the floating panel on his left side view.

───────────────────────────────

+3 HPts … +5 HPts … +8 HPts …

Total HPts: 51.

───────────────────────────────

Sister Renna approached, folding her arms and smiling at Kael. "You did well today, Kael. If you're serious about being a healer, you can come here anytime to help out."

Kael smiled through his exhaustion. "Thank you very much, sister Renna. I promise I won't disappoint."

Renna did a soft smile, "Good, you better not, you since it's already so late, why don't you get some rest on one of the empty cots over there." She says as she points to an empty cot on the right side of him, and then she walks away

As she moved on, Kael couldn't help but admire her backside and the sway of her hips and ass.

"Dame, if only I had the chance", he sighs as he thinks that.

Kael leaned against the wall and summoned the interface again. The glowing screen opened with the shop option.

"Alright, let's get to buying some stuff with my well-earned points."
