Si-Hun just smiled to himself while taking his lasagna out of the oven.
She, on the other hand, just had ramen.
"I almost forgot about those guys…but he didn't act bothered. He cared…even more than he should." She whispered to herself, clutching her phone close to her chest and lying on her bed.
She rolled on the bed, squeaking a little while thinking about the whole incident.
Suddenly, she stopped and just lay there, thinking…
"He didn't have to do anything yet…he stayed with me and…guided me even when he was not here…Why?"
He sat on the chair and got himself some food.
He took a bite and raised his brows.
"Hmm, impressive for a first time." He muttered to himself while licking the spoon from the tip of his tongue.
He ate quietly while his mind was racing with thoughts.
"I'm not sure why I have been paying attention to someone whom I'm not even obliged to. I've been thinking about her even when I'm away….and…and the thought of her safety keeps clicking. What's this?"
His mind was flooded with questions like this.
Just then, Kuro came.
"Let me take a bite and tell you EXACTLY how it is." Kuro just took the spoon from his hand and didn't even notice that Si-Hun didn't pay attention to him taking it away.
"It's…actually good for your first time," Kuro said to him while making a weird face.
Kuro was going on and on, but Si-Hun…he was just lost.
"Hey! Master!" Kuro screamed, waving his hand in front of Si-Hun's face.
"Yeah…yeah?" Si-Hun said, sitting up straight.
"Where are you lost, master!?" Kuro said while sulking dramatically.
"I…am tired," Si-Hun said.
"Then go sleep after eating."
"Yeah…give me my fork back!" Si-Hun said as he saw his fork in Kuro's hands.
"Whoa! Chill out, master…"
Kuro laughed and gave it back while taking a seat on the chair next to his.
"Life has been tiring, hasn't it?" Kuro blabbered.
"Moving with the flow is what we can do."
"You should take a break and go somewhere for a few holidays.''
"I want to, but what activities can I even do alone?"
"Ask her."
"Who?''
"Ughh, Su-Yeon!" Kuro said while slapping his forehead.
"Her…?'' Si-Hun said, tilting his head.
"I don't even know if she enjoys being with me…I can be a pretty boring person."
"Doesn't seem so."
Si-Hun leaned forward from his chair and took another bite.
"Maybe. She's the only friend I have…aside from Jae-Un. Wait…I'll ask him!" Si-Hun said, leaning back in his chair again.
"Right. Call him.''
Si-Hun picked up his phone from the side and unlocked it.
He didn't even check that Su-Yeon had dropped a text he hadn't read.
He read it on the screen.
"Okay. You eat too, or you'll feel tired." With a smiley.
He didn't say anything; his eyes relaxed a fraction.
"Why…why do you do it?" He muttered to himself.
"What are you murmuring?'' Kuro confronted.
"Nothing… eat," Si-Hun said.
He marked it as read and proceeded to call Jae-Un.

"Hey…Jae-Un. You sleep?''
"Nah…Just watching a movie."
"Okay, listen to me."
"Yes, sir?''
"Haha, so…bud, I haven't gone out in ages and have been stuck in this killing business. I'm thinking about going somewhere for a few days. Any holdiay spot. You in?"
"Yoo…since when did you start living too?"
"Aish, just tell me directly."
"Haha, OBVIOUSLY, BRO, I'M IN!"
"Great…but there might be one more person."
"Another person…who?''
"I'll tell you if they agree."
"Why not now?"
"Okay, bye!" Si-Hun spoke while hanging up.
Jae-Un just stared at his screen before putting his phone away and shoving a popcorn in his mouth.
"Great…I'll ask her tomorrow."
Kuro nodded.
[The police station]
"Then…here comes my most loyal man!" Minjun spoke while leaning back in his chair.
"Always, sir," Yu-Jun said, smirking.
"That's the spirit…What do you bring me? I want all the details."
"As per your order..................... That's all, sir." Yu-Jun gave Minjun the report of Si-Hun's day.
Minjun's eyes darkened as he listened to him.
"Good job. You can leave now."
"Okay, sir." That man said before bowing lightly and leaving.
"Great details he gave me. Reveals a lot about him."
"And this weapon shop away from the city, an old dagger, firing with such precision, and fighting three guys alone? Definitely raises my suspicion. He's…a suspect."
Minjun stood up and marked his board, the one that had all of the details about Si-Hun.
"Perfect." He blurted.
Just then, Baek Hyeon came in.
"I've told you so many times to knock before you enter!" Minjun said, raising his voice a little.
"Yah, yah, whatever!"
Minjun rolled his eyes and came back to his seat.
Baek Hyeon took a seat in front of his desk.
"What news did he bring to you?"
Minjun smirked at his question.
"As much as I needed to take him as a suspect."
"Haha, we're leveling up, huh? Tell the details."
"Sure, mister," Minjun said, leaning off his chair.
"Minjun told him about the whole scene.
Baek Hyeon tilted his head at the whole story.
"So…our suspicion was right. This Si-HUN gives off the wrong energy. Taking him as a suspect surely is a big move…but you're going to take him in or…"
"We'll keep him under observation for now," Minjun said.
"Let's hope that this suspicion is right…or if he turns out to be a normal predator."
"Didn't you read on his description that he's a NOVIS? How can he be this strong when he's just a novis?''
"So you're paying attention to details…Makes the work easier. Makes sense anyway. This is definitely worth digging in."
"It is! That's why I've been working on this case day and night. We could bring a whole new scientific discovery and earn millions! This blood and the surroundings, the fights are evidence of something going on beneath the surface that we're not aware of!" Minjun said, slamming his fist on the table.
"Tchh! Calm down! Don't be too happy! What if it's just some other monster?"
"It can't be…Just wait…" Minjun whispered, taking a deep breath.
Baek Hyeon just narrowed his eyes and leaned back.
"You're getting obsessed…."
"I'm not!" Minjun said, frustrated.
The truth was, he had spent HOURS working on this case.
It was his goal to bring some new discovery to this world.
He couldn't let such a good opportunity slide…not so easily.
"I'll get leaving. You stay locked in this prison, obsessing over a man." Baek Hyeon said as he got up and left while giving Minjun a last glance.
"Yeah, yeah. Leave!" Minjun said, scoffing.
"I won't let it get out of my hand so easily!" Minjun said to himself while his eyes twitched weirdly.
