Chapter 110: Reckless Charge
The massive change in the Astronomican caused Horus's fleet, which should have gone straight to Terra, to drop out of the warp halfway.
Deep within the Vengeful Spirit's command room, Horus stood alone.
His figure was shrouded in a dense aura of Chaos, and the air around him was as suffocating as thick blood.
He heard them. He heard the whispers in his ear.
"Great Dark King, you are the supreme being."
"Abandon those foolish shackles, your destiny is here, to dominate the galaxy!"
"The False Emperor's era has ended. The age of Horus will descend!"
Horus frowned slightly, trying to block out these voices. They belonged to humans, xenos, and even daemons.
The voices gradually increased. As time passed, these voices began to overlap, becoming clearer yet more chaotic.
"You are the only leader!"
"We serve you, fighting only for your will!"
"Dark King, the galaxy trembles for you!"
They were no longer just whispers but carried endless obsession and fanaticism, as if the entire warp was singing praises to Horus.
This was an unprecedented feeling. His blood was boiling.
This voice seemed to tell him that as long as he personally killed the False Emperor, he would become a god!
The False Emperor was his final sacrifice! He felt an immense surge of power!
An endless stream of Chaos energy continued pouring into his body. He felt his strength had surpassed the False Emperor's!
In the warp, he could feel the False Emperor's presence!
Horus used the might of the Chaos Gods to establish Horus's domain in the warp, where his dark and colossal figure stood.
A giant psychic projection appeared above Terra, and his figure was magnified to an incredible degree.
A sinister smile was on his face, his gaze piercing directly through the void, as if meeting the False Emperor's eyes.
"You call yourself the savior of humanity, but everything you do is merely to satisfy your own vanity! The empire you built is a ruin piled up with lies and slaughter!"
"You sit high above, claiming to be a god, yet you refuse to acknowledge your own hypocrisy! You are more hateful than Chaos, because you don't even dare to face your true self!"
The Imperial warriors who were fighting all looked up at the sky with immense anger.
They cursed Horus relentlessly, even though he was so powerful now, they still spat upon the one who betrayed the Imperium!
He seemed not to hear them and continued speaking to himself.
"You constantly say we are your sons, but to you, we are merely tools! You never truly loved any Primarch, we were just pawns serving you!"
"If you were truly our father, why did you abandon us? You lifted us up when you needed us, but chose silence when we needed you!"
Dorn, Vulkan, Magnus, and Corax in the Sol System all frowned and looked in Horus's direction.
Magnus, especially, who had just been healed, was enraged upon hearing this and immediately shouted back with his own psychic power.
"What the hell are you talking about!"
"Father loves me! No, he loves us!"
"Look at Francis! He's been imprisoned for so long, and he still loves Father!"
"You're just an insatiable wolf!"
Horus initially disdained to argue with Magnus. When Magnus mentioned Francis, his blood pressure instantly spiked.
He roared madly. "If Francis dares to show up, I will kill him!"
"Even if the False Emperor comes, he won't be able to save him! I said it!"
"I will make him feel the most agonizing torture in this world! I will make him wish he were dead!"
Hearing that Horus intended to torture his brother in such a way, especially since Francis had indirectly saved him several times, Magnus shouted back with even greater fury.
"If you dare to lay a hand on Francis, I will lay a hand on you!"
"If I didn't need to be sitting here, I'd slap you right now!"
"You, you can't kill him! The freest man in the Imperium, he won't be easily defeated!"
Horus, hearing this, also grew angrier, and the two began to curse at each other across the void.
Abaddon: "..."
Other Primarchs: "..."
Outside the Sol System.
"Which of you can use psychic powers? Is there any way?"
"Horus has already entered. If we don't go in soon, it will be too late!"
Guilliman looked at everyone through the holographic projection. His own psychic level was...
The Lion's eyes flickered, but he remained silent. Perturabo just wanted to go home and lie down. Ferrus's eyes held some confusion.
It seemed no one was very skilled. The only one who might know a little was Konrad Curze, who was frozen in time...
"If there's no other way, we'll just have to force our way through!"
Guilliman and the others were at a loss when the Abyss's Roar swiftly streaked across the distance.
It stopped directly in front of their warships.
"What's going on? Why are you all standing here?" Francis said to the holographic projection.
"..."
"Their psychic powers have blockaded Terra. Time inside has become chaotic, and going in now will never reach Terra."
"Do you have a solution?"
Guilliman looked at Francis with immense excitement.
"I actually do have something. Someone come and get these blackstones. I've adjusted them all; they can all block psychic energy."
"You try it!"
Francis picked up a blackstone and had Sarpedon fire a psychic flame. The flame disappeared automatically before it even got close.
This scene stunned everyone.
Especially Guilliman, whose eyes flickered as he murmured, "If this material were made into armor, wouldn't it allow one to rampage through psychic attacks!"
No sooner had he spoken than Francis pulled out an external blackstone armor, which could be attached to standard power armor models.
"Guilliman, what a coincidence, I actually made a set and even included a shield."
His eyes lit up at this, but he said nothing. Although he wanted it, it was his brother's possession after all.
His mind was in endless struggle when Francis continued, "Alas, my Hundred-Eyed armor requires psychic energy, so I can't wear this. I'll give it to you then."
"Everyone take a portion of the blackstone, and you all try it out to see if it works!"
The other Primarchs also didn't stand on ceremony, and all took a portion, especially Perturabo and Ferrus, whose eyes went wide when they saw this brand-new material.
When the blackstone was placed inside the warship, the Navigator clearly felt the psychic energy dulling, even without properly activating it.
As the cruisers loaded with blackstone slowly sailed into the Sol System, they could see the warships flying at a slow speed. Although slow, they weren't stuck in place.
This was too slow!
"Or, we could concentrate the blackstone on one warship and have it go to save Terra!" Ferrus offered his opinion.
However, with only one warship, the change wouldn't be significant!
Francis, also understanding this situation, was constantly rubbing his chin, a thoughtful look in his eyes.
"Wait for me!"
Francis went to where the Ogryn were resting. Since he'd turned into an Ogryn, he'd felt the changes in them; the white markings on their bodies were increasing, and it seemed that once they turned completely white, they would almost evolve into another type of creature.
He seemed to be able to feel them and also generate Waaagh energy, but this conversion process was very slow.
Standing there, Francis seemed to hear the sound of a horn blowing again, followed by the Soul Drinkers also seeming to sense it.
They surrounded Francis, beginning to perform a strange dance, their bodies swaying as they emitted low roars.
"Woo woo woo~~ Oh oh oh~ Roar roar roar~~"
"Waaaaaaaaaaagh~"
As the sound grew louder, the white stripes on the Ogryn's bodies increased until they turned completely white.
Instantly, tens of thousands of white Ogryn opened their eyes, which gleamed with fanaticism, and roared: "Waaaaaaaaaagh!"
A massive green energy, like a psychic storm, swept through the entire Abyss's Roar!
On the Abyss's Roar, countless thick alloy cables emerged.
Francis's body grew larger again, his face significantly strained. He roared toward the holographic projection. "All of you, use the cables on my warship to tie to your own warships! I'm taking you through!"
"Hurry, I can't hold it in much longer!"
"Remember to fully stack all void shields!"
They still had some quest to stack all void shields fully, but at this point, they couldn't worry about so much. They hurriedly connected their warships with cables.
"We are ready!"
Finally, Francis could no longer hold back and let out an earth-shattering roar. "Waaaaaaaaaaagh!"
Instantly!
The Abyss's Roar, like an arrow released from a bowstring, instantly rushed into the Sol System!
They hadn't even had time to react when they heard a huge crash!
RUMBLE!
Followed by a terrifying impact sound!
The Abyss's Roar, dragging hundreds of warships, directly crashed into Horus's fleet, which was still cursing at Magnus!
Its hull, encased in black iron and steel armor, was like a giant beast of the cosmos, roaring as it surged into the enemy lines.
The trailing fleet was like the tail of a comet, radiating an aura of destruction.
This fleet, composed of over a hundred warships, almost filled the horizon, its sheer scale instilling indescribable fear in every enemy who witnessed this scene.
The warriors of Horus's fleet watched the charge of the Abyss's Roar in stunned silence.
A Sons of Horus captain froze on the command bridge, his voice trembling as he shouted orders.
"All hands, battle stations! Engage the enemy!"
However, their resistance seemed so futile.
Warship commanders frantically tried to adjust their fleet formation, activate energy shields, and unleash volleys of firepower, but everything happened too quickly. All their efforts were futile struggles.
"That's the Abyss's Roar... It's dragging the entire fleet!"
A warrior murmured, his voice filled with fear.
Horus's fleet's communication channels were filled with panicked calls and commands, but no matter how they arrayed themselves, this flood-like impact was already upon them.
As the Abyss's Roar, carrying the fury of the entire fleet, charged at full speed into the enemy lines, the starry sky seemed to tremble.
Its prow shield emitted a dazzling blue light, accompanied by space-ripping arcs of electricity that crushed everything in its path.
This immense power forced back Horus's warships, some even disintegrating in the shockwave.
A massive traitor battleship attempted to turn its hull, only to be directly struck by the Abyss's Roar, its hull shattered, the ship torn in half, scattered debris flying out like a meteor shower.
The trailing fleet, like a giant chain, also sliced Horus's fleet into pieces.
Every Imperial warship became a speeding blade, tearing and crashing through the Chaos vessels,
