The people from St Mungo's arrived swiftly.
A few wizards in healer uniforms, holding their wands, rushed up to the second floor in a panicked state.
"Merlin... a werewolf, what on earth happened here!" An older witch clutched her chest in disbelief.
"That's what we'd like to know." Professor Kettleburn stepped forward and said sternly, "It almost bit two young wizards just now, right here in St Mungo's.
Ha, this is practically the biggest joke in the Magic Realm."
"Sir... we..." A middle-aged wizard wiped the sweat off his forehead, looking flustered, "There must be some misunderstanding here, we'll definitely get to the bottom of it."
"Misunderstanding?" Kael laughed in exasperation, "That's your explanation?!"
If he hadn't reacted quickly, plus with two professors nearby, who knows how this would have ended.
Even if he were lucky enough to escape, what about that boy, and the many patients in the rooms nearby, could they all get away?
"I'll be reporting today's incident to the Ministry of Magic," Kael said coldly, "If there's a misunderstanding, let them investigate."
"The Ministry of Magic... this..."
"No need!"
At that moment, a tall, thin witch with a stern face emerged from behind the crowd, casting a chilly glance at the middle-aged wizard, who immediately lowered his head.
"I've already notified the Ministry of Magic, their people will be arriving shortly, and I'll give you an explanation regarding this matter."
"You are...?" Kael asked in confusion.
For a moment, he thought it was Professor McGonagall, because their appearance and serious demeanor were so similar.
"Let me introduce myself, Pegasus Saxia," the witch said seriously, "and I'm also the head of St Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries."
Professor Cecily is a capable witch, and after making her decision, she promptly had the dying werewolf taken away.
Thanks to the werewolf's robust life force, it didn't die, but it was close.
"For certain reasons, it holds more value alive," Professor Cecily explained, "I hope you understand."
Kael nodded.
With Hagrid and Professor Kettleburn present, he wasn't afraid of any tricks they might pull.
"Thank you for your understanding."
...
Three minutes later, the people from the Ministry of Magic arrived.
The leader was Minister of Magic Cornelius Fudge, accompanied by a group of Aurors and a witch in a pink coat.
Fudge looked at the large pool of blood on the ground, a trace of panic in his eyes.
"Heavens... a werewolf that can transform at will... Merlin above... how could this be... I mean, why is this happening."
"We're still investigating, Minister," Professor Cecily said calmly, "If you're not assured, you can join us."
"Alright, I mean we'll assist."
"Where is that werewolf?"
At this point, an Auror approached, looking like an old lion. His tea-brown hair and bushy eyebrows contained streaks of gray, with sharp eyes behind his gold-rimmed glasses.
Professor Cecily summoned a healer to take him to the room where the werewolf was.
Fudge moved next to Kael, somewhat distractedly asking, "Child, are you alright."
"I'm fine, there were two professors nearby."
Kael noticed Fudge's eyes continuously shifting sideways, seemingly pondering something.
"Child, is there a possibility you mistook something?" Fudge hesitated before suggesting, "Perhaps the attacker was merely a wolf-form Animagus, not a werewolf..."
"You want me to lie?" Kael asked.
"Lie... no, no, no, that can't be lying."
Fudge removed his hat, his gaze flickering, "You're still young and have never seen a werewolf before, mistaking it is normal."
"I didn't get it wrong." Kael pretended to be serious, "We just studied werewolves last semester."
"Perhaps you remembered it incorrectly."
Kael's expression remained unchanged, "My final exam scores were first in the grade, with perfect scores in all subjects, I didn't remember it wrong."
Fudge squeezed the rim of his hat tightly, his tone growing impatient.
"But everyone knows werewolves only transform during a full moon, not during the day.
If this false information spreads, a lot of people could panic."
Kael silently criticized in his heart, that last sentence was what you were really concerned about, wasn't it.
But before he could speak, a witch wearing a pink coat behind Fudge leaned forward.
"Child, I've discovered that you violated the Ministry of Magic's regulations by using magic outside of school."
Umbridge cast a glance at Fudge, speaking in a sickly sweet voice, "According to the rules, we'll have to punish you."
"I've violated the rules?" Kael said incredulously.
"Obviously, haven't you?" Umbridge looked pointedly at the wand in Kael's hand, "Child, arguing is pointless, the Aurors will soon trace the magic you've used.
If the total exceeds three... then, unfortunately, you won't be attending Hogwarts this year."
Seeing Kael's shocked expression, Umbridge felt immensely satisfied. She loved this feeling.
And she was no longer content with her current position; she wanted to climb higher, gain more power, and naturally wouldn't miss any opportunity to please the Minister.
It's just a young wizard.
There are some things the Minister isn't convenient to do, and she's more than willing to take care of them.
Kael couldn't keep the composure anymore, and coldly said, "You want to expel me?"
"That's the Ministry of Magic's rules." Umbridge said with a fake smile.
Throughout this process, Fudge stood aside, seemingly deeply interested in his hat.
Kael's face grew colder, squinting as he said, "So the Ministry of Magic's stance is, I should have just stood there and let the werewolf take a bite out of me, right?"
"You could run." Umbridge gave a hypocritical smile, "The stairs are right there, you could've run to a crowded place for help, why use magic?"
Kael took a deep breath, gripping his wand tightly, resisting the urge to cast Avada at her.
Race against a werewolf?
Even Lockhart couldn't have written such an absurd plot.
Seeing Kael silent, Umbridge felt even more triumphant. She cleared her throat and said, "Of course, if you..."
"I wasn't late, was I."
Footsteps echoed again from the staircase, Dumbledore approached Kael without casting even a glance at Umbridge, saying, "I was just about to go to France and rushed here as soon as I got the message, are you hurt?"
"No, Headmaster." Kael smiled, "But this... unidentified Ministry bystander says I used magic outside of school and wants to expel me."
"Don't worry, Kael, expelling students is a right reserved only for the Headmaster."
Dumbledore said gently, "If they insist, I'll accompany you to the hearing.
I recall clearly that when life is at risk, even young wizards who haven't graduated can use magic as an exception, your actions were completely justified."
"I'll go too." Professor Kettleburn said.
Hagrid: "Me too."
"And me."
Professor Cecily also stood up, looking at Umbridge with a playful tone, "This lady bystander, if that werewolf wakes up, would you be willing to have a race with it to testify to your previous statements.
If you can escape from it without using magic, Albus will have no reason to stop you from expelling this student."
