Chapter 106 - Chapter 105: Battle in the Forbidden Forest (Double-Length)

"Being humble is great, and being cautious isn't wrong either, but those are things to consider later. Right now, you can certainly express yourself better."

Professor Oren seemed to truly treat this as a classroom, speaking seriously, "After all, your age is here. Who would really consider an eleven-year-old freshman as an opponent?"

Kael continued walking forward without speaking.

Professor Oren didn't mind and continued, "I've finished speaking. It's your turn now. Tell me, when did you discover it?"

Kael blinked and said, "Discover what? I don't understand what you mean, Professor."

"If that's your answer..." Professor Oren suddenly stopped, speaking coldly, "Then there's no need for us to continue forward."

The atmosphere suddenly became tense.

Even Conna, who was focused on searching for Poke, vaguely sensed something amiss and unconsciously leaned closer to Kael.

"As a year-round Defence Against the Dark Arts professor, I don't doubt you have the issue."

Kael shrugged, "Everyone knows this is a cursed position. For most of the inducted professors, they either get injured and sent to St Mungo's, or they're sent to Azkaban.

There's also some particularly unlucky ones who didn't make it to either place.

Even those professors who manage to survive to the semester's end have to resign for various reasons.

Now it's the end of the semester, and you've neither met an accident nor resigned, so surely your identity must be problematic."

"You put it correctly, tsk tsk... the cursed position."

Professor Oren sighed, "I actually quite liked being a professor, but it's a pity my identity was discovered. I just received news that people from the Ministry of Magic are already on their way.

They probably never thought I was hiding in Hogwarts, searching for me for so long."

When speaking of the Ministry of Magic, Oren's eyes were full of disdain.

"Wait, you mean the Ministry of Magic isn't looking for the Swooping Evil, but for you!"

"Of course it's me."

Oren sneered, "Think about it, just a Fantastic Beast alone, is it worth such a big commotion?

What they want is what's in my hand."

"What thing..." Kael instinctively asked.

"Are you sure you want to hear it?" Oren taunted, "If you want to know, I can tell you."

"Uh... I don't want to." At this moment, Kael realized, laughing awkwardly, "Actually, I'm not that curious."

Whatever made the Ministry of Magic go through a half-year pursuit likely involves something huge, and he doesn't want to touch it.

Upon hearing this, even the slow Conna realized, looking incredulously at Oren, instinctively pulling out her wand.

"No need to be so tense, Miss Prince." Oren wasn't fazed by her small gesture and instead directed his gaze to a tree on the left.

"Oh, look what I've found."

He lightly waved his hand with the wand, and the fallen leaves began to wriggle, like a snake, coiling up a gray rat lying on the tree root.

"Poke!"

Conna cried out in shock, tremblingly stretching out her wand, "Let it go..."

"I'll give you a final lesson."

Without even looking at Conna, Oren aimed his wand at the rat, "If you want to confirm if the animal in front is an Animagus, a Revealing Spell is the best choice.

Revealing!"

A blue light shot out from the wand, and the rat paused mid-air, its tiny gray body twisting wildly.

Oren waved his wand again, the leaves scattered, the rat fell to the ground, followed by a dazzling flash...

Just like a fast-forwarded scene of a tree growing, a head emerged, limbs followed, and after a moment, a hunchbacked and ugly witch suddenly appeared.

The witch hunched over, making her look very small, with sparse, lackluster hair that messily covered her large, ugly hooked nose.

Conna stared at the old witch before her, once again stunned, stretching out her hand, stumbling over her words, "She... Poke... Po..."

"So your name is Poke, nice to meet you," Oren said cheerfully, as if meeting a new friend at a party.

"Damn it!" The witch, furious, pulled out a thick, short wand, glaring at Oren, "I'll kill you, kill you!"

Her voice was incredibly raspy, like using a rusty lawnmower to saw wood.

Speaking, the witch's wand emitted a purple light, aiming straight at Oren's chest.

"Good chance..."

Taking advantage of the witch's aggression, Kael swiftly took two Broomsticks from the Transfiguration Lizard Skin Bag, handing one to Conna.

"Go, find Professor McGonagall!"

After a brief shock, Conna understood Kael's intention, quickly mounting the broom to fly into the sky.

After she left, Kael didn't follow up but casually tossed the broken broom aside.

...

On the other side, facing the witch's charm, Oren simply turned slightly to dodge, then chuckled, raising his wand too.

"Avada Kedavra!"

A deadly green light skimmed past the witch's ear, hitting a passing spider behind her.

The unfortunate spider instantly went stiff.

The witch, nearly brushing with the God of Death, was so frightened she slumped to the ground, shaking uncontrollably.
