Chapter 9 - Chapter 8: Pain Who Cares for His Members

The Moment of Holy Judgment, a skill where an angel descends.

Uehara Naraku noticed the effect of the skill The Moment of Holy Judgment, and felt slightly reassured in his heart; at least he wouldn't have to worry about instant death in the future.

The Moment of Holy Judgment: Adds an invincibility shield to oneself or others, lasting for 3 seconds; simultaneously, a Blade of Purification appears around the person in invincibility status, causing massive damage to the surroundings.

Chakra consumption is related to the duration, with a minimum chakra consumption of 100 points; cooldown time is 160 seconds.

"Naraku!"

Teacher Konan waved at Uehara Naraku in the air, and only spoke after he landed: "Hey, Naraku, was that jutsu a Kekkeigenkai just now?"

The power of the life energy disintegration ray was beyond her imagination!

When that purple energy first touched the Paper Clone, it didn't feel like much; yet almost instantly, a burning pain clawed its way from inside!

It was like forcibly erasing the body!

"Hmm, I don't know."

Uehara Naraku shook his head and casually shirked off the question: "I'm not sure if it's Ninjutsu or Kekkei if my father were alive, I could ask him if our family had any peculiar Kekkei..."

"..."

Konan shook her head and didn't pursue the matter further.

Perhaps because the Akatsuki organization has too many strange and bizarre jutsus, like Kakuzu's Earth Grudge Fear, and Sasori's Eternal Human Puppet.

Pain stepped forward and coldly said: "His Taijutsu is terrible, even worse than yours, Konan; this could become a fatal flaw in combat..."

Konan: "..."

Pain easily undermined both of them with just one sentence.

Moreover, Pain previously mentioned that regardless of Uehara Naraku's abilities, he must be involved in the Akatsuki's revenge mission; but now he's being so picky...

But Pain's words had some truth; Uehara Naraku's Taijutsu was quite flawed, even she, a ninja not adept at Taijutsu, could see it.

Uehara Naraku scratched his head a bit.

His Taijutsu indeed had some deficiencies, but once the life energy stats accumulate, improvements would naturally follow.

"All right."

Pain glanced at Uehara Naraku, then turned to Konan: "Now that you've tested, his power is enough for that mission!"

Uehara Naraku looked up, obediently towards the woman with light blue hair: "Teacher Konan, what mission are we undertaking?"

"Attack the Hidden Rain's base, force Hanzo of the Salamander to summon his close associates, and finally execute them all!"

Konan's face turned icy when she mentioned that name: "Twelve years ago, Hanzo of the Salamander, hailed as a Ninja Demigod, betrayed his promise, colluded with Shimura Danzo from Konoha, and murdered Akatsuki's leader along with most members..."

Everything that happened on that day she remembers day and night!

The Akatsuki organization, believed to be heading towards the light, was destroyed overnight, except for her and Nagato, everyone else was killed!

Among them, Akatsuki's leader Yahiko.

He was their childhood companion, leading her and Nagato through the harsh war to survive, guiding those who trusted him in pursuit of peace.

He didn't die stopping a war, instead perished in that conspiracy, leaving a massive shadow in the hearts of two close friends.

On top of that, Nagato's legs were also injured by paper bombs, losing the ability to move thereafter, even striking a deal with those two evil men, leading Akatsuki down a fearsome path.

For revenge and commemoration, Nagato chose to preserve Yahiko's body, creating the strongest Celestial Path of Pain among the Six Paths, allowing the Celestial Path of Pain to always lead Akatsuki.

Twelve years.

Konan and Nagato stealthily endured for twelve years, waiting for the completion of the Six Paths of Pain; only then did they muster enough confidence to plan their revenge on the Hidden Rain Village.

Since it's revenge, they couldn't allow others to interfere.

But who could have thought they'd encounter another youth who should join their revenge mission during a nostalgic visit before their attack on the Hidden Rain Village?

Uehara Naraku lowered his head in contemplation, their attack on the Hidden Rain Village should go smoothly; with Six Paths Pain's abilities, capturing Hanzo of the Salamander wouldn't be difficult, indicating this would be a purely supportive journey.

The primary objective is to complete several tasks.

For instance, a series of missions Uehara Naraku had consistently overlooked.

Advanced Mission 1: Kill ten wandering ninjas (10/10), reward 100 life energy points, 100 chakra energy points, mission completed.

Advanced Mission 2: Kill ten official Genin (3/10), reward unknown.

According to Uehara's speculation, future tasks should involve a series of Genin, Chunin, and Jonin, possibly culminating with Kage-level figures.

Alright, there'll definitely be some.

Given his current abilities, facing Kage-level fighters is indeed difficult; and with the system's task individuality, those Kage-level challenges would definitely be against the Five Great Countries' Ninja Villages' Kage, not against rogue ninjas like Kakuzu.

Currently, Uehara Naraku's only hope is that future advanced missions from the system will be ordinary Jonin rather than such problematic Jonin like Might Guy and Kakashi, which would be overwhelming.

However, in order to improve strength, the advanced missions are necessary, and Uehara Naraku estimates these missions will grant life energy and chakra energy.

The rewards should not be skimpy.

In the beginning, Uehara Naraku encountered some not-so-powerful wandering ninjas, relying on his few skills to easily take them down.

However, most formal Genin have their own Ninja Village and operate in groups; even Uehara Naraku, during his wandering days, occasionally encountered a rogue Hidden Rock Squad running rampant in the Land of Rain.

To complete the required advanced mission numbers, a ninja gathering place must be sought; no place is as suitable as Ninja Village.

A chance like this to complete numerous advanced missions simultaneously, significantly enhancing one's strength, is rare.

The preparation time ahead left Uehara Naraku feeling somewhat strange.

According to his understanding of Naruto World Intelligence, Nagato would store the Pain when not using them, to conserve his chakra.

Who could've predicted that during this time before the war, Pain not only didn't return to its proper place, but also frequently appeared at the training ground with him and Konan, constantly commenting on Uehara Naraku's Taijutsu training, proposing a slew of issues?

"Arm strength too weak, insufficient to crush the enemy..."

"Kicking speed too slow, exposing weaknesses to the enemy..."

"Too pitiful, kid, are your punches meant to tickle the enemy?"

The orange-haired man stood at the edge of the training ground, occasionally uttering evaluations, indeed tarnishing the image of the Celestial Path Pain with background music.

Uehara Naraku couldn't argue back.

Konan found it hard to endure and argued: "Pain, Naraku is only twelve; he is still too young, with plenty of time to grow..."

"I'm just concerned about the organization's members."

The orange-haired man justified himself, speaking with a matter-of-fact tone.
