The invincible kite appeared on the field, its semi-transparent body forming a barrier in front, so strong that even the shockwave of the Ultimate Dragon couldn't budge it.
"Then the third strike!" Kaiba shouted.
"Kite Robot activates its second effect from the graveyard," Yugen said, "This card can reduce the battle damage of a direct attack to 0 once while it exists in the graveyard." (Original effect)
Blocking two strikes with one card, isn't that the true value of a divine artifact?
"Heh, barely holding on with continuous defense tactics," Kaiba sneered.

It seems like a coincidence, but the monsters Yugen used and the tactics he chose seemed to align in many ways with what Kaiba remembered of that person.
"When Magic Guide Warrior is successfully summoned, place a mana indicator, increasing its attack power by 300 points," Yugen stated. "However, I will immediately remove this mana indicator to activate its second effect.
Magical Warrior - Destructors can remove its mana indicator to destroy any Magic or Trap Card on the field."
Yugen pointed at Kaiba's back row, which seemed to be the only card now forming his defense line.
"Destroy that Cover Card."
The Magic Guide Warrior swung its sword, and a crescent-shaped magic sword qi was emitted toward Kaiba's back row.

Kaiba immediately activated the targeted Cover Card before the Magic Guide Warrior's sword qi could strike.

It really seems like all great power comes with a risk.
But to be fair, the side effect of this card was only activated once in the original series, and that was in the Light Pyramid movie.
It was this depiction in the movie that resolved the controversy over the card's effect in the animation—whether it considered every turn or just one's own in counting turns.
In the Light Pyramid representation, it confirmed that it was "during your fifth turn's Standby Phase," meaning if it were by both players' turns, it would be the upcoming ninth turn...
