"This is my full power!"
Asuka began her move, revealing another card from her hand. On the green Magic Card, a flowing golden glow shimmered.
"Magic Card 'Preparation for the Ceremony'!
Add a Ritual Monster of Level 7 or lower from your deck to your hand, then you can select a Ritual Magic Card in your graveyard and add it to your hand!"
She drew from her deck, quickly selecting a card and displaying it.
"I add the Level 6 'Digitalized Angel - Vajra Heaven' from my deck to my hand!"
The deck was shuffled and replaced into the Duel Disc. Following that, a card shot out in golden light from the graveyard slot of her Duel Disc.
"The card that was just discarded as the cost for the activation of 'Blessed Church - Ritual Church', the Ritual Magic 'Mechanical Angel Ceremony', returns to my hand!"
As she spoke, she immediately placed the retrieved card into the Duel Disc.
"Ritual Magic 'Mechanical Angel Ceremony' is activated! By offering monsters as a sacrifice from the hand and the field, the Ritual Summon can be conducted for a 'Digitalized Angel' Ritual Monster of combined levels equal or greater!"
She triumphantly revealed the two Ritual Monsters that she had just added to her hand.
"I offer the Level 6 'Digitalized Angel - Benten' as a sacrifice for the Ritual Summon!
Appear, embodiment of light and wisdom—
—Level 6, Digitalized Angel - Vajra Heaven!"
The altar of the Mechanical Ritual appeared, and the image of Benten briefly flashed, swiftly transforming into a beam of light. From the light emerged the full-figured and tall Digitalized Angel.
[Digitalized Angel - Vajra Heaven, Attack Power 1600]
The physically printed card Benten gained the powerful ability to "search an Angel Race Light Attribute monster from the deck when used as a sacrifice", though that was an original effect added ten years later, not present in the original anime.
But since anime characters could always draw the cards they want, they didn't particularly need the search effect anyway.
Asuka followed with a sweeping gesture.
"The effect of 'Digitalized Angel - Vajra Heaven'! When this card is successfully Ritual Summoned, return a Magic Card from the graveyard to the hand!" (Anime Effect)
The printed card for Vajra Heaven was modified to only recover Ritual Magic Cards, though it could retrieve them from both the graveyard and the deck. The original anime version of Vajra Heaven, however, could recover any Magic Card, which could be seen as having its own strengths and weaknesses.
"I recover this card from the graveyard... the Magic Card 'Pot of Magic Book'." Asuka said, "Then, activate the Magic Card 'Pot of Magic Book' once again! Both players draw three cards from their decks!"
Yugen calmly accepted the additional three cards sent by the opponent: "Are you planning to decide the outcome this turn?"
While there's a huge risk in giving the opponent resources, Asuka's decision within the current situation isn't necessarily wrong. Because Yugen already has a XYZ Divine Dragon Cannon on the field that can destroy cards and is immune, and with only two hundred Life Points remaining, Asuka would almost be facing certain defeat if she did nothing this turn. She had no choice but to go all out this turn.
It's similar to modern Yu-Gi-Oh! where sometimes you have no choice but to put everything on the line against a "Multiplying G". If your opponent activates a "Multiplying G" during your turn, they draw a card every time you Special Summon. And if you aim to go all out, you'll have no choice but to conduct numerous Special Summons, sometimes giving the opponent a massive resource of a dozen cards in a single turn.
But even knowing this, many players still choose to take the risk and move forward, betting on the chance to potentially defeat their opponent in that turn.
"Then, I Normal Summon 'Digitalized Little Angels'!"
[Digitalized Little Angels, Attack Power 300]
"The effect of Digitalized Little Angels, when this card is successfully summoned, adds the Ritual Magic 'Mechanical Angel Ceremony' from the deck to the hand."
Asuka searched her deck again, and immediately played the retrieved card.
"Activate the Ritual Magic 'Mechanical Angel Ceremony' from the deck again! This time, using the Level 2 'Digitalized Little Angels' and 'Digitalized Angel - Vajra Heaven' on the field as offerings, perform the advanced Ritual Summon!
Let the way be illuminated by the light of glory, Angel of Light, descend here—
—Level 8, Electronic Angel - Tujini!!!"
The two angels disappeared into the altar of the ritual, and the spiral light beam surged once more. The sacred four-armed angel spun out, holding a long blue magic staff with two hands, and wielding swords in the other two, exuding the imposing presence of a queen.
[Electronic Angel - Tujini, Attack Power 2700]
Electronic Angel - Tujini, Asuka's true trump card, and the strongest monster she has used in the TV series.
The printed card for 'Digitalized Angel - Vajra Heaven' can grant an additional 1000 Attack Power to your Ritual Monster on the field when sent to the grave as a sacrifice, though that was also an original feature unique to the printed card.
"The effect of 'Electronic Angel - Tujini'!" Asuka declared with a wave of her hand, "When this card is successfully Ritual Summoned, the opponent must send a monster from their field to the grave!
And since you only have one monster on the field right now, you have no other choice..."
Asuka pointed towards Yugen's field.
"You can only send 'XYZ Divine Dragon Cannon' to the grave!"
The audience erupted in gasps once again.
Of course, there were also the voices of the less adept students. For instance, Marufuji Sho from Osiris Red: "Eh? Isn't 'XYZ Divine Dragon Cannon' protected by 'Super Shell', unaffected by any Magic Trap Monster effects?"
At this moment, Mitsuzawa Earth, who appeared beside them unaware of when, explained with his arms folded: "Because Tujini's effect doesn't affect the opponent's monsters, but the opponent duelist.
