Chapter 71 - Chapter 68: If You Can Talk, Say More!

"Ahhhhh!!!"

A miserable groan erupted, and a player was lifted off the ground by a tangible impact of dark energy, rolling several times on the ground disgracefully.

The player's LP was cleared to zero as a result of losing the duel.

A faint shadow of darkness enveloped the surroundings. A woman with a slender waist, long legs, and skin as white as snow stepped forward, her face half-hidden under the shadow of a black hood, and her overly seductive red lips curled into a smile.

Sharp fangs subtly extended from the edges of her soft red lips.

"According to the rules of the Darkness Game," she sneered coldly, "as the loser, your blood is mine now!"

However, at the brink of life and death, facing imminent demise, she noticed the strange duelist before her was not panicking at all, but rather holding his head, distressed: "Damn it, if only I had drawn that card..."

Moreover, his companion at the side seemed equally unfazed, mocking him: "Didn't you say you grinded for a week to exchange for lots of good cards? Seems like it's not working at all."

"Nonsense! It's purely that this Vampire got lucky! Look at her skin, so white, definitely pure European bloodline, while I've got a bunch of normal monsters without drawing a single crucial card, totally unlucky. This has to be racial suppression, nothing to be done about it..."

"What the hell are you whining about? You're just weak!" The bystanders all jeered, "Stop blaming your bad luck, look at the King! Can't even draw the cards you want and still dares call yourself African? Africa doesn't need garbage like you!"

"The King is from Egypt! Does Egypt even count as Africa?"

This Vampire from the Ghouls was a bit confused.

She noticed that lately, there seemed to be an unusually high number of strange duelists in Domino City. These people clearly lost in the Darkness Game and were about to have their blood drained and be engulfed by darkness, yet every one of them acted as if they were celebrating, facing death without the slightest concern.

Moreover, their companions even stood at the side mocking and ridiculing them...

Hey, aren't you supposed to be companions?

If you're companions, at least pretend to feel some heartache, even just a little, okay? How can you all be so heartless?

But the rules of the Darkness Game are absolute, having won, the required actions must be taken.

The Vampire Queen removed her hood, revealing a seductive and charming face... and snake-like fangs.

"As per our agreement," her face distorted like a demon, "your blood is mine!"

However, the dumb player still showed no fear, adopting a pose of "I'm just a salted fish, hurry up and drain me already" sitting on the ground, eyes closed, saying: "If you're going to do it, do it quickly, stop dawdling."

Quine: "?"

Are you not aware of your situation, my dude?

I'm about to drain your blood, buddy! If I drain it all, you'll die!

Could you please show a little fear to give this vampire some face?

As the Vampire's fangs pierced the skin, the dumb player bizarrely shouted: "Ah~ so good! Ah~ so this is how it feels to be drained dry!"

Bystander players: "..."

Vampire Quine: "..."

Damn, what a bunch of idiots I've run into today!

After draining the blood, the dumb player's body slowly dissolved into the void.

Quine was a bit surprised.

Huh? My Darkness Game level shouldn't be high enough to devour the body, should it?

Her ability should at most restrain the opponent and forcibly drain blood after winning. How did the target completely vanish?

Could it be that her dark energy level unconsciously got stronger?

But she didn't ponder much further, instead, she continued with a coquettish smile to assess her remaining prey: "Your companion has already been buried by darkness, who's next?"

"Heh, that loser indeed couldn't handle it." The first player straightened his collar and stepped forward, "I guess it has to be me."

"Get outta here, I'm the next one!" The second player started rolling up his sleeves.

"Let go of that Vampire, I'm next!" The third player began to unbuckle his belt.

Vampire: "..."

She suddenly didn't feel like sucking the blood of these three fools anymore, fearing their blood might be toxic...

Then suddenly, Quine jerked to a halt, realizing something.

...Damn! Because of these idiots' confusing antics, she forgot to take the opponent's rare card after the duel!

Now the person and the card deck have dissipated into dust; it's too late to retrieve it.

This is a total loss!

Just as she was thinking this, a voice came from the other end of the street: "Regarding the Darkness Game, would you like to try it with me?"

Everyone turned to look towards the voice.

They saw someone approaching, clad in a leather trench coat, black interior, a duel disc on hand, and the trench coat fluttering like a cape in the evening breeze along the street.

That unique aura, coupled with an overwhelming sense of style...

... could only be one person!

"Wow, that's Youyu!" a player exclaimed.

"Isn't he usually in the store, why's he out now? Could it be a side-quest?"

"No one ever said NPCs can only stay in one place, and can't leave, right? Didn't the official say it's a highly open game..."

While players babbled on, Quine from the Ghouls also narrowed her eyes.

"Youyu... I see, the new rising star in the underworld recently?" Quine smiled, "Your reputation has indeed been quite notable of late. I heard you drew with the legendary Kaiba Seto, confronted his Blue-Eyes White Dragon head-on and even forced out that legendary Egyptian God... quite remarkable indeed."

The passing players quickly grasped the elements.

"Kaiba Seto... could she be referring to the President!?"

"Duh! Could there be another Kaiba Seto here? Didn't you hear her mention the Blue-Eyes White Dragon?"

"Could the Egyptian God be 'Obelisk the Tormentor'?"

"Damn, Youyu fought with the President? And it sounds like it was a draw?"

"Impressive, drawing out the Egyptian God and still ending with a draw, that's truly amazing. I never played cards before, but I recall that the Egyptian God cards in the anime were particularly invincible..."

Actually, Quine's news was inaccurate. That match wasn't a "draw" but "interrupted," as in the end, the President's duel disc short-circuited, and it couldn't be completed...

If the match had continued, the odds of ending in a tie were slim. Either Youyu's Dark Magician beats the President or the President's Egyptian God takes him down in one strike.

Well, he didn't plan to correct that little detail.

Haha! This Vampire from the Ghouls sure is thoughtful! Upon the first meeting, she helped him show off in front of the players, truly polite!

If you can speak well, say more!

Having someone else boast for you always works better than showing off yourself. Especially when others say you're remarkable and you pretend to be calm or act as if you didn't hear at all; the listeners would believe even more that you're profound and unfathomable.

...just like the reactions of a few passerby players now.

"Did you record that?"

"I recorded it! I'm posting it on the forum soon, this post will explode!" another player said, patting his chest.

Youyu secretly felt quite pleased.

Not bad. Now even this Vampire Beauty seemed more and more agreeable to him.

If she just behaved a bit, perhaps he might spare her life, recruiting her as a mount or something...

...cough, just kidding.

"Let me verify if the rumors are true," Quine smiled, activating her duel disc, while a hungry look shone from her eyes, "If I win, I won't just take your card, I'll take your body too!"

Youyu unfolded his duel disc: "Not that I'm... wait, isn't it supposed to be blood?"

"Such a handsome lad, just draining blood would be too wasteful," The Vampire lady licked her lips with her long tongue, "I have other plans for you."

Youyu raised an eyebrow.

This sly Vampire, is she... lusting after my body?

Geez, that's quite something.

Hearing this, the spirit of the Dark Magician Girl drifted out as well, staring at the Vampire ahead with puffed-up cheeks full of hostility.

"Master! You definitely cannot lose this duel!" her little face was full of seriousness.

"I know, I know." Youyu chuckled, "I didn't plan on losing anyway. Let's get to it then."

"DUEL!" x2
