Chapter 309 - Chapter 211: Barley Beer, Tavern's New Arrival (4k)_2

Naoki smiled and nodded. After finishing breakfast, he asked the pair of Indeedee to use Telekinesis to move a barrel full of beer to the tavern's bar.

This way, if any Pokemon wants to give it a try, the Indeedee only need to turn the valve and pour a glass.

Recently, the Pokemon tavern has been thriving under the management of the two Indeedee.

They not only act as bartenders and host guests but also prepare food for hungry patrons.

Besides the milk and Berry Juice prepared by Naoki, they also specially prepared simple and easy-to-make sandwiches, berry pastries smeared with cream, and creamy popcorn made from corn for guests to choose from.

With their efforts and the word of mouth from the town's Pokemon, this little tavern, renovated from an old house, has clearly become a gathering place exclusively for Pokemon.

Although it deviated somewhat from his original intention of creating the tavern, this seems not too bad.

Naoki usually doesn't go over to disturb this group of Pokemon unless there are ones he has never seen before or is interested in; then, he'd rush over to watch and eavesdrop on their conversations.

Today, intending to observe the effects of the beer, Naoki specifically came to the tavern during its opening hours.

He had almost ten pieces of Translation Nuts Cake and stood behind the bar with the sister Indeedee to attend to guests.

The brother Indeedee stayed aside, acting as the bartender, ready to serve meals or clean up the floors and tables messed up by guests if needed.

At 6:30 PM, the tavern officially opened for business.

Not long after, the tavern's loyal patrons, the two Machamp from Keri's family, arrived.

They initially planned, as usual, to order a Berry Milk but suddenly found a new drink in the tavern today.

Machamp couldn't help but ask, "Nika?" (What's that? A new berry juice?)

The sister Indeedee smiled and shook her head, "Ai ee!" (No, it's beer that can relieve fatigue when you drink it!)

"Nika?!" Machamp was incredulous. Is there such a thing?

Sister Indeedee: "Ai ee?" (Would you like a cup?)

The two Machamp exchanged a glance and, ultimately unable to resist their curiosity, ordered two cups with the money Keri specially gave them.

Seeing this, Naoki amusingly filled two large mugs of beer and served them.

The two Machamp sat at the table, looking down at the golden liquid in the glass, thinking the smell was a bit strange.

They hesitated a bit but eventually lowered their heads and took a small sip.

As the beer went down their throats, the cheeks of the two Machamp turned visibly red within seconds.

They successfully entered a tipsy state.

Experiencing being tipsy for the first time, the Machamp felt as if they were stepping on clouds, their bodies light, unable to feel any trace of worry or fatigue.

Though the drink's taste was somewhat weird, it surprisingly wasn't bad at all!

The two Machamp raised their cups and downed the beer, then sat there burping, wobbling their heads while staring at each other's faces.

Nobody spoke; they just quietly savored the unique atmosphere.

Naoki: "..."

Uncertain if it was the overpowering effect of the beer or the poor alcohol tolerance of the two Machamp.

But when Quaquaval arrived, it saw them swaying on their chairs with expressions as if entranced by a Jynx's Disarming Voice.

This left Quaquaval stunned for a moment, and it curiously asked, "Ga?" (What happened?)

The sister Indeedee's face showed a gentle smile, "Ai ee." (They drank beer.)

Beer... no wonder!

Quaquaval had heard about this drink, meant for humans, with a somewhat strange taste that it didn't like.

Thus, it declined the sister Indeedee's recommendation and ordered a Berry Juice, sipping it slowly as usual.

As time passed, many more Pokemon guests arrived one after another.

Most were from the town, while some were wandering Pokemon who came upon hearing the buzz for free food and drinks.

There were a Tandemaus, Wattrel, Pikachu...

The remaining seats in the tavern continued to fill up, and those Pokemon chattered away, creating a lively atmosphere.

The Indeedee siblings happily watched this scene.

Naoki, however, felt a bit regretful.

Because these Pokemon felt that the smell of the beer was odd, so after the Machamp, he couldn't sell another beer.

Just then, the tavern door was pushed open.

A Meowth with a crestfallen face and a gold coin on its forehead walked in from outside.

Naoki recognized it.

According to Quaquaval, this was a Meowth wandering in Porto Marinada Town, making its living by opening treasure chests around town.

It was said that a Trainer once attempted to catch it but was refused, as it claimed to love its life of opening treasure chests every day.

By opening treasure chests, it meant rummaging through trash cans.

Naoki had seen this Meowth a few times before, and it was usually cheerful and lively.

Why was it showing such an expression today?

Meowth walked to the bar, downcast, preparing to order a Berry Milk as usual.

It felt that only the sweet and aromatic milk could soothe its wounded heart.

However, suddenly, the sister Indeedee's gentle voice reached its ears, "Ai ee?" (The tavern has a new product today! It's a magical beer that can help relax your body and soothe your soul. Would you like to try it?)
