Chapter 120 - Chapter 98: Cyclizar and Dragonite

"Amazing!"

Eric stared in disbelief at the scene before him. He adjusted his glasses, looked around at the surroundings, and finally focused back on the three Gogoat.

"This is absolutely insane! What a rich abundance of Grass Type Energy! Taking the simple move Grassy Terrain to its utmost limit, it's practically at a perfect level of breeding. No! It's surpassed the perfect level!"

Could this be something only a top-level, master Pokemon Breeder in the world could achieve?

"Full marks! Absolutely full marks!" Eric exclaimed, quickly looking up at the young man in front of him: "Are you the breeder who raised these three Gogoat?"

Feeling the whole crowd's eyes on him, Naoki couldn't help but feel a bit embarrassed. He composed himself and smiled politely, saying, "No, I'm the rancher who takes care of them."

However, Eric had a look of disbelief: "I can't believe an ordinary rancher could get a Gogoat to maximize the potential of Grassy Terrain."

Indeed, he deserves to be called a Pokemon Breeder; he recognized the move in one glance. Naoki thought to himself.

But he's really not a breeder! Naoki looked to Mayor Thomas for help.

Although Thomas didn't understand this stuff, he knew that breeding Pokemon to this level must be quite something.

Seeing Naoki's look, he stepped forward and said, "Mr. Eric, Naoki really isn't a breeder. He just moved here recently and is currently running a ranch."

Eric's face was full of confusion: "How is that possible? That's not scientific!"

Though very surprised, he quickly recovered his composure, contemplating while observing the young man beside him with a sharp gaze.

Naoki: "..."

Mayor Thomas timely picked up the thread, taking the microphone and announcing to everyone:

"Ladies and gentlemen, it seems the champion of this year's cattle and sheep competition has been determined. Let's congratulate Naoki Ranch, which will receive the champion's trophy and half a year's worth of Pokemon food specially prepared by the town!"

"Let's also thank the judge of today's competition, Mr. Eric!"

"Wahoo!"

The audience below erupted into cheers, and in this lively atmosphere, this year's Spring Competition officially came to a close.

Carrying the champion trophy and a photograph with the three Gogoat taken with the help of Mayor Thomas, Naoki rode back to the ranch on Koraidon, content and satisfied.

He placed the trophy and the photo on his desk and gazed at the picture.

In the photo, he stood on the grass with the three Gogoat, looking at the camera, capturing the moment.

It was quite a memorable scene, and Naoki thought to himself that in the future, he should buy a special trophy rack to place the trophies and photos.

As for the half-year's worth of Pokemon food, it was better than nothing!

Mayor Thomas said someone would deliver it tomorrow.

What a joyous day!

Now, it's time to sort out the Teddiursa issue.

Looking at the Teddiursa with the crescent moon mark on its forehead in front of him, Naoki took an empty Poke Ball from the drawer and asked:

"Teddiursa, would you like to stay at the ranch and live here?"

"Yumma?" Teddiursa seemed surprised by Naoki's invitation, letting out a startled growl: "Yumma..."

"What's the matter, you don't want to?"

Teddiursa quickly shook its head: "Yumma Yumma!"

After thinking it over carefully, it made a decision.

The Teddiursa jumped high with force and touched the Poke Ball with its paw, then its body transformed into a red light and was sucked inside.

The Poke Ball gently rocked a few times, then stopped moving.

This indicated a successful capture.

Watching this, Naoki beamed with joy.

Great! The ranch has a new friend!

He opened the Poke Ball, and Teddiursa was released.

Naoki smiled at it, saying, "From now on, make yourself at home at the ranch! I promise there'll be plenty of honey!"

"Yumma~"

Feeling someone care for it, Teddiursa was touched; this time, it didn't pretend to be cute but genuinely acted playfully towards Naoki.

Naoki reached out and scooped up the small bear, rubbing its head vigorously, saying, "That's more like it!"

He played with Teddiursa for a while before turning to prepare lunch.

But Teddiursa seemed to suddenly recall something; after a few exchanges with Naoki, it ran off.

Naoki was puzzled but figured Teddiursa was familiar with the area, so he didn't worry.

So when he finished preparing lunch, he saw Teddiursa struggling to drag a cloth bag back to the ranch.

It handed the cloth bag to Naoki, saying happily, "Yumma Yumma!"

Oh? Naoki was a bit surprised.

He opened the bag, filled with curiosity, and found it contained a pile of trinkets.

Colorful glass marbles, pebbles, small bottles, unknown plant seeds, Big Root, shallow shells, Hard Stone, bones...

Looking at these things, Naoki was slightly astonished and soon realized this was likely the "property" Teddiursa had accumulated over the years.

It brought everything over since it got a new home at the ranch.

Thinking of this, Naoki smiled and said, "Don't worry, I'll help you keep these things safe."

"Yumma~"

At night, after a tiring day, Naoki went to bed early with Teddiursa and Pawmi.

The moon was beautiful that night, and Dragonite, for once, didn't go back to sleep. After a day of practicing moves, it sat alone on the ranch's grass, gazing at the moon.

Meanwhile, a restless Cyclizar also came out, and upon seeing Dragonite moon-gazing on the grass, it walked over and sat down beside it.

Ever since the last Flying Disc game, Cyclizar had been pondering something.

It wanted to become stronger, as strong as the mighty Koraidon, to be of more help to Naoki.

But it couldn't think of a good way. Just then, seeing Dragonite, Cyclizar remembered how it had been diligently practicing ever since coming to the ranch and couldn't help but ask:

"Gao?" (Dragonite, why do you work so hard?)

"Awoo?"

Dragonite blinked. Hearing Cyclizar's question, it started telling its story.

About its birth on a small island, its favorite Dragonite, feeling sad due to weakness, sitting alone on a cliff every night, gazing at the moon.

Cyclizar listened quietly, showing a somewhat understanding expression.

Then it asked, "Gao?" (You learned so many strong moves. Can I learn with you?)

Hearing this, Dragonite was puzzled: "Awoo?" (Koraidon is stronger than me, why not learn from it instead?)

"Gao..." Cyclizar didn't know what to say. It lowered its head, saying, "Gao, Gao..." (It's scary, sometimes it looks at me with frightening eyes, I'm afraid of it...)

Dragonite was a bit confused: "Gao?"

Is there such a thing? It never felt that way itself.
