Chapter 75 - Chapter 61: Ten Thousand Rain Dances, Mastering a Peerless Divine Skill!

That's nature's gift!

Nature's Gift: A Normal-type move that draws power from Berries for attacks, altering the move's type and strength depending on the Berry held.

This move implies that Berries also contain various elemental energies!

Berries related to dragons…

Naoki's mind conjured up information about several Berries.

Aguav Berry, Nomel Berry, Jaboca Berry, Haban Berry.

So, is it possible to make use of these Berries?

Cooking with Berries could work, but Naoki had an even better idea.

That would be Poffins and Pokeblocks!

Both are Pokemon treats made using Berries.

With this thought, Naoki decided to visit the town's dessert shop once the weather clears up.

For now, he had to settle the newly hatched chicks.

Entering the Chicken House, Naoki intentionally surveyed the area to observe the conditions inside.

The plum-shaped footprints on the floor remained, with no sign of anything else reappearing.

This indicated that the intruder hadn't visited during that time.

Without thinking much about it, Naoki decided to check back later.

The newly hatched chicks were extremely fragile and tender, needing to stay in a warm environment with ample water and an appropriate amount of feed.

Exactly, an appropriate amount of feed.

Unlike Pokemon, these little yellow chicks weren't very smart and didn't feel full after eating.

Thus, as long as there was feed in the trough, they would continue eating nonstop until they eventually stuffed themselves to death.

Hence, Naoki canceled the free-feeding system in the Chicken House, opting for manual feeding until the chicks grew up.

He added an appropriate amount of feed to the trough, ensuring the doors and windows were closed to prevent the chicks from running outside or cold wind and rain from blowing in.

Having completed all this, the time had reached noon, and Naoki began preparing lunch for the myriad Pokemon.

After lunch, he started wrapping Grassy Seed using glutinous rice flour and grass fields.

Since Skiddo ate them too quickly, he made a larger batch this time, keeping busy until four in the afternoon when the grassy green dumplings gradually came out of the pot.

Setting the Grassy Seed dumplings aside, Naoki glanced at the time.

Aha! It's already half-past four, and it's time to start preparing dinner!

Naoki, having worked all day, felt physically exhausted, with some soreness in his wrist, akin to the feeling of having all energy drained in a farming game.

He fetched a small stool to sit under the eaves, gazing at his thriving ranch, physically weary but mentally fulfilled.

"Whew, if only there were a hot spring!"

A place to relax during fatigue would be wonderful.

But alas, Porto Marinada Town is located in the northwest of Paldea, surrounded by plains, snowy mountains, and lakes, lacking volcanoes, and naturally lacking hot springs.

Still, it's not entirely impossible.

Naoki suddenly remembered a dish he'd once made—Spicy Iron Block.

This dish had an extra effect; when fed to Heatran, it slightly increased its fondness.

If he could entice Heatran…

Then he could dig a cavern beneath the ranch, where Heatran could reside among the magma, creating an artificial hot spring above ground.

Heatran would get a caretaker and a new home, and Naoki would gain a hot spring.

Then, he could bring his adorable Pokemon to soak in the hot spring.

Such a life is delightful even to imagine!

Yet, dreams are sweet and reality is stark.

The old-fashioned clock inside the house chimed promptly at five, signaling it was time to prepare dinner.

Gazing at the mountain of ingredients awaiting him, Naoki took a deep breath.

No way! His home needs a Pokemon proficient in household tasks to help him prepare ingredients and tidy up!

Like Indeedee and Mr. Mime.

Both are Pokemon adept at housekeeping.

Because of Ash's Mr. Mime in the anime, it's well-known that Mr. Mime excels at housework.

It can clean the yard, wake Ash up, wash utensils, and much more, being exceptionally smart and an outstanding domestic helper.

Indeedee is just as skilled in household chores as Mr. Mime, given its role as Miss Joy's aide in the Galar Region.

Indeedee are both male and female, with each gender having different areas of expertise.

The male Indeedee resembles a butler, always attending to its master's needs using Psychic Power to foresee the Trainer's actions and manage daily affairs.

The female Indeedee excels at childcare, despising conflict, exchanging information through the collision of partners' horns.

But regardless of gender, they diligently care for humans and Pokemon, seeking happiness and gratitude.

This is because positive emotions are their energy source, absorbing these feelings and converting them into their energy.

However, apparently, Mr. Mime doesn't inhabit the Paldea Region.

Yet, there are Indeedee.

"I guess I'll have to pay more attention to Indeedee information going forward," Naoki thought.

Due to being overly busy today, Naoki went to bed early after dinner.

Early the next morning, Naoki awoke from his sleep, feeling sore and light-headed.

His heart skipped a beat, worrying, "Could I be catching a cold?"

No way? It was just raining briefly yesterday.

Propping his body up from the bed, Naoki surveyed his surroundings, his drowsy mind pondering.

Without a thermometer or medicine at home, it seemed he needed a trip to the town hospital.

At this moment, Koraidon and Cyclizar noticed his condition, approached him looking concerned.

"Gao…"

"Giss…"

Naoki patted their heads one by one, smilingly saying, "It's okay, probably just a rainy cold, minor illness, just need to get some medicine from town later."

Saying this, Naoki got up to start preparing breakfast.

Koraidon and Cyclizar followed closely behind.

Alcremie and Smoliv also showed worry.

Alcremie hopped onto the stove, expressing sadness, "Ma…"

Having emerged from the Poke Ball planning to deliver milk, Dragonite looked remorseful after hearing the news.

"Wu..."

If not for helping with its Rain Dance practice, Naoki wouldn't have fallen ill.

Dragonite felt thoroughly guilty.

Seeing their expressions, Naoki found it both amusing and distressing, sniffed and began giving instruction to the Pokemon:

"Really, it's fine. Dragonite, deliver the milk to Mrs. Davis. Koraidon, Cyclizar, Alcremie, Smoliv, wait aside, don't crowd here."

With inner trepidation, Dragonite went to deliver the milk.

Meanwhile, the rest exchanged glances, communicated briefly, and started helping Naoki with ranch tasks.

Koraidon went to help Naoki water, Cyclizar to feed Skiddo, and Alcremie took salted feed to the Salt House where the Nacli resided.

Seeing this, Butterfree flew in, standing by the bed with concern.

The tiny Smoliv, unable to do much, anxiously paced back and forth.

Naoki watched with amusement, but for some reason, seeing the Pokemon's backs made him feel a sense akin to "my children are growing up."

It's a feeling similar to seeing your children, raised by you, learn to help their parents.

Indeed, they've matured.

Naoki gave a contented smile and continued preparing breakfast.

Due to his condition, today's breakfast was simple; he casually fried some eggs and sliced tomatoes to make sandwiches.

Once the sandwiches were ready, the Pokemon returned.

Naoki's appetite wasn't great, so he let them eat first, while he went to the Chicken House to personally feed the chicks.

At this point, he noticed another string of plum-shaped footprints inside again.

Since the ground was still damp from the recent rain, the unknown creature must have accidentally stepped in mud on its way, hence leaving further prints.

It appeared to be a quadruped.

The creature's target was clear, still aiming for the feed in the trough.

This time, Naoki decided to take precautions and planned to make a trap later to see if he could catch this "thief."
