Chapter 43 - Chapter 35: Choosing a Target

Is that... a Dragonite?

As he gazed at the silhouette, Naoki's mind immediately conjured up the image of Dragonite's chubby and round body.

He wanted to ask Yousuke about this particular Pokemon, but as he looked up, he saw Yousuke completely absorbed and focused on his drawing.

Naoki thought it over and decided not to disturb him for now.

He continued flipping through the picture book in his hand.

However, since his thoughts were entirely captivated by the Dragonite, Naoki showed little interest in the other Pokemon like Sudowoodo, Slaking, and Amoonguss that came afterward.

After about an hour, the man finally put down his pen.

His face lit up with surprise as he looked at his artwork, "Perfectly done! Take a look!"

Saying this, he handed the paper with the drawing of Koraidon to Naoki.

On the paper, Koraidon lay peacefully beside Naoki, resting its big head on his leg.

Meanwhile, Naoki was engrossed in the book in his hand, creating a scene that seemed natural and warm.

"Amazing!" Naoki gave him a thumbs up and asked, "Have you been learning to draw for a long time?"

Yousuke scratched his head, "Not really; my parents signed me up for art classes, but after three months, I ran off to travel. I'm still honing my skills along the way."

Naoki didn't know much about this area.

Yousuke, satisfied, put away his pen, closed the picture book, and, with keen interest, asked,

"Speaking of which, are you also a Trainer traveling around?"

"No." Naoki shook his head, "I'm a Rancher, currently managing a ranch. If you need eggs, you can buy them at Naoki Ranch, east of Porto Marinada Town."

As he answered, Naoki didn't forget to promote the goods from his ranch.

Yousuke's eyes widened upon hearing this, "A Rancher?"

"Yep!"

"Alright." Yousuke opened his mouth to speak, "I originally thought you were a Trainer here to catch Pokemon in Casseroya Lake. There are many Pokemon species living around here, and I've often seen Trainers coming to catch Pokemon these past few days."

Speaking of wild Pokemon, Naoki flipped open the page with the drawing of what seemed to be a Dragonite in front of Yousuke, "Is this Pokemon still around here?"

"You mean that one? It's still here!" Yousuke said excitedly, "Are you interested in it too?"

Naoki didn't deny it, "If it's convenient, could you tell me about it?"

"Of course!" Yousuke began recalling as he narrated, "I discovered it about a week ago."

"At the time, I was on the Lake Island on the west side of Casseroya Lake, investigating a Pokemon not found in the Galar region that mimicked the appearance of sushi."

"Out of curiosity, I wanted to observe it closely, but for some reason, I was suddenly attacked by a Dondozo."

"Panicked, I fell into the lake and was chased by a frenzy of Veluza. I was carried by the current to the foot of a cliff by the lake, where I looked up and saw this Pokemon sitting on the cliff watching the moon."

"However, in the evening, Casseroya Lake gets foggy, and I couldn't clearly see what it looked like, only a blurry shadow."

"That kind of Pokemon doesn't exist in the Galar region; I was drawn to it, so I started observing it and found that it arrives around 7 PM every night."

"It stays there until 5 AM the next day, then it flies back to the sea, very punctually, regardless of the weather!"

"Unfortunately, I don't have a flying Pokemon, so I can't get to such a high place."

Yousuke showed a face full of regret, but suddenly recalled that there was a flying Pokemon right in front of him!

His eyes lit up at once, "Can you take me to see it? I just want to have a look at it!"

"I can, but..." Naoki hesitated.

The mysterious Pokemon would only appear at 7 PM, but he couldn't stay here that long since he had to return to attend to ranch work and prepare dinner for a few Pokemon.

After a moment's thought, Naoki asked, "It stays here all night and won't leave in between, right?"

Yousuke nodded, "That's right."

Naoki: "How about this, I'll come back after 7 PM."

He explained what work awaited him back at the ranch.

Yousuke immediately nodded, "No problem, I'll wait for you guys here!"

After making the arrangements, Naoki rode Koraidon away from the watchtower.

He looked at the five Poke Balls in his hand, contemplating which Pokemon to take back to the ranch.

Firstly, the ranch currently needed Nacli the most.

Because both its salt production and value are very high.

According to the Pasture Encyclopedia given by Mayor Thomas, Nacli, as long as it moves, will rub against the ground to produce salt grains.

Therefore, people build special Salt Houses for them, laying a specially designed film on the floor to collect the salt.

An average Nacli can produce a small bag of about 500 grams of rock salt every five days.

Such a small bag of rock salt sells for 3000 league coins on the market.

The high price is due to the rock salt being rich in minerals, which are highly beneficial when consumed regularly by humans and Pokemon.

Moreover, this rock salt can be directly used on Pokemon to very quickly heal their wounds.

After deducting the feeding costs, one can earn over 2500 league coins every five days from a single Nacli, amounting to fifteen thousand a month, and owning ten would yield one hundred and fifty thousand a month.

And when they evolve into Naclstack and Garganacl, the salt production will increase even more.

If the Rancher doesn't mistreat Nacli and is willing to spend time playing with them and ensuring their health every day besides feeding, ensuring they don't get sick,

then this Rancher is bound to make a fortune.

With this in mind, Naoki directed Koraidon towards the location where he previously found Nacli.

It was situated on a rocky area on the east side of Casseroya Lake, near Glaseado Mountain.

Behind was a cave that seemed to be the residence of Naclis.

Naoki gave Koraidon's neck a gentle pat, and it let out a cry before understandingly landing in front of the cave.

The few Naclis playing and sunbathing on the rocks sensed foreign aura, causing them to panic and scatter, fleeing back into the cave.

Naoki: "..." Was he that scary?

Although the initial attempt failed, Naoki wasn't discouraged.

He took out his prized delicacies—salted small fish and salted plum.

Worried that suddenly entering the cave might frighten the group of Naclis, Naoki opted not to go in but stood outside, starting to toss small fish and plums inside.
