Chapter 40 - Chapter 32: Familiarity (Two Chapters in One)_3

Based on years of watching anime, I know that to capture a wild Pokemon, besides battling, you can also use delicious food or form emotional bonds.

After all, Orges never submit unless there's a promise of food and housing.

Pokemon are even simpler than Orges; aside from those that can only be caught through battle, most will follow you as long as you give them some food.

So, Naoki prepared several delicious dishes, catering to Pokemon who enjoy Berries, those who like meat, and those with sweet, spicy, or sour preferences.

These dishes also needed to be easy to carry and store.

After working overtime to finish them, Naoki packed them into his backpack. As he was unzipping it, he suddenly saw a few Poke Balls at the bottom.

Looking at them, Naoki suddenly remembered something.

Professor Sada didn't give him Koraidon's Poke Ball!

No, to be precise, Koraidon had already destroyed its Poke Ball!

Images of Koraidon using Dragon Claw to smack away the Poke Ball flashed through Naoki's mind.

So here's the question: does the mark left by the Poke Ball on a Pokemon still exist after it's destroyed?

After contemplating for a moment, Naoki picked up a Poke Ball and tried using it on Koraidon.

But several seconds passed with no reaction from the Poke Ball.

"Looks like the mark is still there," Naoki thought.

He casually tossed the Poke Ball back into the backpack, but as he zipped it up, he suddenly thought of something else.

He reopened the backpack, took out a red-and-white ball, and approached Cyclizar.

"Ga-ow?"

Cyclizar quickly recognized the Poke Ball and realized that its trainer was finally ready to capture it.

Cyclizar's face lit up with joy as it eagerly leaned its head forward. The moment it touched the button in the center of the Poke Ball, its body turned into a red light and was absorbed into the ball.

The ball then gently wobbled twice before coming to a stop.

This signified a successful capture.

"Is this what it feels like to capture a Pokemon?"

Naoki weighted the Poke Ball in his hand, holding it softly, and then made a pitching motion.

He saw trainers in anime throw Poke Balls like this.

However, fearing the Poke Ball might hit the wall and break, Naoki didn't really throw it but pressed the button while holding it instead.

Immediately, the Poke Ball opened automatically, and a beam of light shot out, revealing Cyclizar's figure on the wooden floor.

"How do you feel?" Naoki asked.

Cyclizar looked very excited: "Ga-ow!"

Judging by its reaction, going inside the Poke Ball didn't seem so bad after all.

However, Naoki believed that there were differences among Poke Balls.

The regular red-and-white ball is the most basic Poke Ball. Above it are the Ultra Ball, Great Ball, Luxury Ball, and so on.

The further up you go, the better the Poke Ball's performance and living environment.

The internal space of the Luxury Ball, which can make Pokemon feel luxurious and comfortable, was personally confirmed by Meowth from Team Rocket.

Well, for now, we'll just make do. Once I make a fortune, I'll get Cyclizar a Luxury Ball to live in.

As for now, it's late, and it's time to get to bed!

Naoki stretched, took off his clothes, and dove onto the bed.

He didn't notice Koraidon's gaze toward the Poke Ball at all.

"Ga-sii?"
