Chapter 271 - Chapter 113: That Year, That Day, That Deal (Part 3)

"He has shown us the mysteries of the Resurrection Stone, which is never something meant for the living to use. To demonstrate its powers, you must first place it in the hands of the dead you wish to revive."

"Of course, just like the exaggerated powers of the Elder Wand and the Invisibility Cloak, it too cannot truly resurrect the dead. However, you can truly bring the dead back to the mortal world temporarily through the link established." Rowena Ravenclaw's gaze indeed fell on the Pendant Box in Ian's hand.

"This is a beacon that Slytherin once displayed, you can continue to use it..." Rowena Ravenclaw paused for a moment, then spoke in a rather helpless tone, "But I think you probably don't need to use this thing. After all, unlike other living people, you don't need to pay a huge price to reach here."

Her words made Helena nod in agreement. For countless years, she had never heard of anyone with abilities as exaggerated as Ian's, which seemed to completely trample on the barriers between life and death.

"I'm an orphan, though I do have parents. It's just that I've never really found them... Of course, for the time being, my headmaster might need this answer much more than I do." Ian weighed the not-so-heavy Resurrection Stone Ring in his hand, pondering if this thing could be exchanged for the Elder Wand to study.

"Are you going to use this ring to blackmail Dumbledore?" Seeing Ian grinning, Helena couldn't help but ask.

There was a slight hesitance for a moment.

The youthful-looking lady still added another sentence.

"You'll be locked up in the basement by him; he's not the same as the little wizards you've blackmailed." Apparently, this ghost from Ravenclaw College had surely heard quite a few rumors about Ian at the school.

"?????"

Ian really wanted to catch the person spreading rumors about him everywhere. He just wanted to study Dumbledore's wand, not to make Dumbledore announce his abdication in the Great Hall and deliver a two-hour speech praising him, not to mention settling all objections from the board of directors.

"Perhaps the current headmaster has someone he cares about who has already passed away, but I wouldn't recommend you let him use this ring frequently. It isn't really good for either the living or the dead." Rowena Ravenclaw didn't care about the little wizard blackmailing the headmaster; she merely reminded him softly and earnestly.

"Don't forget, it was crafted by the God of Death, not... someone else." The founder of Hogwarts' voice was filled with a feeling of prejudice against the God of Death, "Those who use such means will eventually bear some cost, for the Three Sacred Artifacts themselves are accompanied by a contract with the God of Death."

"Whoever uses, signs, with no escape."

For people of her era, perhaps this was not an uncommon thing, for ultimately, those involved in the many stories about the God of Death did not end well.

"I'll research, gather thoughts from others, and see what the alchemy pen on this is about." Ian also felt it would indeed be safer to avoid accidents. Compared to his desire for the old headmaster Albus Dumbledore, he was more concerned about whether this ring might bring bad influences to his good friend.

To be honest.

Lady Rowena Ravenclaw's words were not without reason; several previous owners of the Elder Wand died quite dramatically. The purpose behind the God of Death crafting the Three Sacred Artifacts is indeed puzzling.

"Can you take me back to the place I am familiar with?" Ian carefully put away the Resurrection Stone and the Pendant Box, looking up at Rowena Ravenclaw who was helping Helena comb her hair.

Rowena Ravenclaw did not turn her head, "Little one, I'm afraid your time is limited, the deeper you go here, the greater the burden you'll have to bear."

Just as Rowena Ravenclaw could predict when Ian would leave the isolated island, now she still seemed able to sense how much longer Ian could continue staying in the Misty Illusion Realm.

"Ah?"

Ian, in contrast, did not understand his "limited-time experience" as well as Rowena Ravenclaw. It was with Rowena Ravenclaw's reminder that he focused his mind to sense it carefully.

"When will I be able to stay as long as I wish?" Ian helplessly discovered that what Rowena Ravenclaw said was true, his "experience card" was indeed depleting at twice the speed.

"When your magic power can accumulate to surpass our limits, perhaps that will be when your wish will come true." Rowena Ravenclaw offered her suggestion. Previously, Teacher Morgan seemed to have told Ian something similar, but Teacher Morgan said that there would be a qualitative change once the limit was reached.

Who is right?

That can probably only be verified once the limit is surpassed.

Name: Ian Prince

Profession: Bloodline Mage

Magic Power: Level 8 (in explosive transition)

Ian looked at the top information of his personal panel and sighed somewhat helplessly. He originally hoped the combustion of Voldemort's soul fragment would bring him a qualitative change.

Who would have thought that Rowena Ravenclaw would directly throw Voldemort into the lava? Perhaps he should have decisively added some of his own magic into the lava at that time to see if he could gain a bit of "experience."

"My Patronus Charm seems to have some issues, can you help me see if it can be changed?" Ian didn't have extra time to return to the town or castle to reminisce.
