Chapter 185 - Chapter 96: Severing Fate, The Destiny of a King

"No one has ever done what you're doing, so logic doesn't apply to our situation now. Even if it fails, all we'll waste is some time."

"The one thing we're not short of is time." Even though Pandro was doing something incredibly foolish, he could still speak with an air of seriousness and spout lengthy reasoning.

Leaving one with no room to argue.

"You win."

Ian slapped his forehead. Trading a Curled Wing Demon's egg for a Phoenix Egg was definitely worth it, but he was doubtful about whether he could bring this Phoenix Egg back to the present world that didn't really belong to him.

Perhaps Pandro noticed Ian's doubt, "A Phoenix is a magical creature. When it crosses the boundary between life and death, it won't be rejected by your rules."

"However, this Phoenix was born in our world, it might be different from what you imagine a Phoenix to be, so don't use common sense to understand the hatching of this Phoenix."

Pandro's words were full of information.

Ian raised an eyebrow slightly.

"Alright, I'll ask a Witch who knows about Phoenixes; they are the companions Wizards desire the most." He thought Pandro was definitely less reliable than Albus Dumbledore when it came to hatching Phoenixes.

This made Pandro a bit exasperated.

"Have you forgotten who taught you to control your magic power? Even though I'm not a Wizard, I do know a lot about Wizards!" Pandro stomped hard on the freshly laid soil, venting his frustration.

"Wizards are all frauds!"

His irritated words were obviously not aimed at Ian.

"Ian, did you find my brother?" Ariana, who had been staring at the Phoenix Egg, suddenly looked up and asked. Clearly, though her mental age was only in her early teens like when she was alive, her meticulous intuition allowed her to guess why Ian had been asking her unusual questions earlier.

"Of course, after all, I promised you I would."

Ian nodded with righteous conviction.

"How are they doing?"

A concern flickered in Ariana's eyes.

Looking at the little girl in front of him, slightly taller than himself, Ian recalled the young man he had met previously, and he asked Ariana with some confusion.

"Earlier, I met someone on the road who should be your nephew; he called you 'Aunt.' Didn't he tell you anything about the Dumbledore family?"

Ian's words left Ariana deeply astonished.

"Someone did come before. He said he was a traveler, just asked us for a drink of water… Pandro thought he had ill intentions because souls don't get thirsty."

Obviously.

The information Ian provided left Ariana very surprised.

"My nephew?"

Her expression was quite odd.

"I knew he wasn't a traveler!" Pandro felt pleased with his judgment but didn't mention he was suspicious of the traveler's intentions.

"I feel like he might be Albus Dumbledore's child, a secret love child, perhaps with a mother who's an extremely evil Dark Wizard or something." Ian's tone was not entirely certain, but since he didn't know Abeforth and only recognized Albus, he naturally chose to make up tales about the people he knew.

Snape might not have been entirely wrong; spending too much time around Gryffindors does inevitably lead to adopting some of their habits.

"Believe it or not, your brother has really become quite successful; I promised to show him your situation, and in return, he'd rewrite your family vault to become mine."

Clearly, Ian was daydreaming again.

"Is that really true?" Ariana tilted her head skeptically; having grown up with Ian, she obviously knew him well.

"If you write it down! Then it will be true!" Ian pulled out a table from the nearby post office, slapping some stationery and envelopes onto it.

"Ian, I may have died young, but I'm not stupid." Ariana naturally wouldn't write such things, leaving Ian to sigh in disappointment.

"I only met one of your brothers, Albus, Dumbledore… He's the headmaster of our school now, and your other brother is supposedly herding sheep or something."

"That's what the portraits at school told me."

Ian shared all the information he knew.

"Abeforth, my brother." Ariana's expression froze slightly, her eyes beginning to shift from dazed to clear, clearly recalling a lot.

"Perhaps I should write two letters."

She looked at Ian for help.

"Luckily, I'm someone who likes to be prepared." Ian pulled out another sheet of paper and envelope, noticing Pandro sneaking some of the snacks meant for Ariana. Since the Witch had confiscated Pandro's share, Ian could only pretend he didn't see, handing the paper and envelope to Ariana.

"Actually, I don't know what to write."

Ariana wore a somewhat melancholic expression, holding a pen uncertainly. Ian, who had started walking away earlier, immediately returned to her side.

"You could write that Ian is a good friend, that even if Ian breaks school rules, he shouldn't be punished. And under no circumstances should Dumbledore devise a plan for Ian to fight Voldemort."

"If Ian absolutely has to fight Voldemort, then he must be given plenty of rewards." Ian suggested, feeling unwilling about joining Harry Potter for unpaid battles next year.
