Chapter 170 - Chapter 94: The Missing Link, Reentering the Illusion Realm (Part 5)

If they still remember... The only thing that made Ian feel somewhat incredible was that Dumbledore would actually allow Aurora's grandfather to disguise himself as Gilderoy Lockhart.

From the memory Dumbledore showed earlier, the two should have already fallen out. Aurora's grandfather had already been imprisoned in the Nimongard Castle located in Austria.

Released just like that?

The Ministry of Magic really doesn't have the capacity to supervise, and private prisons don't seem to be a problem either. After all, from Dumbledore's memory, Grindelwald seems to be serving his sentence voluntarily.

If he wants to leave... who other than Dumbledore could stop him?

"Maybe it's because of the death of the previous Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. It seems that it's not just the curse's cause, there must be something worse behind it than I initially imagined."

"Voldemort or something else?" Ian thought that the man might be here to protect Aurora, and he couldn't help but feel a bit regretful that such a situation didn't happen next year.

Nose-less Tom would certainly regret missing such a situation.

"Maybe the curse won't take effect?"

Ian considered the possibility of seven years of suffering for himself and his classmates, and the hope that nose-less Tom might have a surprise. Between the two, he really wanted to selflessly choose the latter.

Of course.

This wasn't something he could decide.

"I'm going to the library, what about you?" Ian just went to the restroom in the dormitory and came out to find his two drowsy roommates had already fallen asleep.

During these days of nightmares, excessive sleep was clearly not a good choice, but Ian's slap technique lost its effect on them for the first time.

"Maybe I used it too much today, and it's not powerful enough." Ian tidied up his bed briefly, detoured to the Room of Requirement to check his treasures, and as usual, the library became his must-go place for midday relaxation, though today the library seemed even less crowded.

Unsurprisingly, the situation in today's Defense Against the Dark Arts Class had already spread, but for those little wizards who hadn't yet personally experienced it, some even thought the new Dark Arts teacher was really cool or something; whether it was a case of the Leaf Dragon or the filter of Lockhart's fame was unknown.

Faced with hushed discussions in the library, Madam Pince unsurprisingly exerted her authority, and under the threat of the feather duster, everyone returned to silence.

"An unknown good Samaritan saved these little wizards who don't have any sense."

Ian just looked up at Madam Pince's "law enforcement," then lowered his head and began delving into Alchemy knowledge, which interested him nearly as much as Spell Class and Transformation Technique Class.

This is actually one of Hogwarts' elective courses, but it's unfortunate for Ian because he needs to achieve excellent grades in Spell, Ancient Magic Rune, and Transformation Technique in the fifth-year O.W.L.s exams in order to participate in the elective course taught by Professor Arthur King in the sixth year.

This is a transparent professor with whom Ian doesn't have any memory, but seemingly has worked at Hogwarts for many years, just like other faculty members that Ian can't find any information on from memory.

Of course, a vast school like Hogwarts couldn't only be familiar to Ian.

Just like the mysterious Ancient Magic Rune Professor Bathesda Babbling, Ian hadn't seen Professor Arthur King since the start of the term, thwarting his plan to showcase exceptional Alchemy talent, gain favor, and receive guidance from Professor Arthur King.

The O.W.L.s exam grades are naturally not a problem for Ian; his only disadvantage is being too young. Perhaps only by pulling a senior's hair and making a Polyjuice Potion could he sneak into the Alchemy class.

"Maybe I could skip Magic Potion class and sneak into the Alchemy class." Due to his morning conversation with the Dark Arts teacher, Ian developed quite an interest in Biological Alchemy.

He spent the entire noon at the Forbidden Book Area researching related literature and materials—even though he had a rudimentary understanding before, most came from fragmented information in books like "Bloodline Origin."

"It even has some connection to Biological Transformation Technique." Ian spent the entire noon in the library and found that his two roommates chose to skip the afternoon's Flying Class. Since there was no need to bring any textbooks, Ian didn't opt to return to his dormitory.

He simply saved ten minutes on continuing to read, not expecting his two roommates were still asleep in the dorm. This more or less seemed to be a side effect of encountering a Dementor in Defense Against the Dark Arts class.

Skipping class is quite rare for little wizards from Ravenclaw. But it doesn't really affect future studies, as even Ian thinks there's no significant difference whether or not you attend Flying Class, which is always about teaching low-altitude flying, just like having a motorcycle driver's license doesn't stop you from kicking on and riding.

Until dinner.

Ian finally saw his two roommates, who appeared even worse than before.

Their appetite for food wasn't great. Despite the rare chance to avoid fighting with his roommates for food, when faced with the chicken leg on his plate, Ian didn't eat much.

Because he noticed that on Slytherin's long table, the German girl kept glancing over at him. Her lack of movement with the cutlery clearly indicated she was thinking about the delicious food he mentioned.
