However.
Ian wasn't in a hurry to learn what was inside, as he could study it anytime. He kept flipping through pages, trying to extract the information he wanted.
Finally, nearing the end of the book, just when he was about to curse the heavens for playing a joke on him, Ian found the answer he sought.
"Until my life was about to end, I finally mustered the courage to write this book for her."
"She taught me so much, even before my betrayal, she had already guided my entire life's path. I couldn't bear to take this knowledge with me to the grave."
"Perhaps I've long lost the right to call myself her apprentice, but please forgive my final selfishness—this book is dedicated to my teacher, the Witch Morgan Le Fay."
"On the path you carved, your vile apprentice can only go this far... May we meet in Soul Land, may the ravens of Soul Land bring me to your side."
The last few pages.
Another long author monologue.
Repentance was the main theme of the monologue.
However, Ian finally found the truth in these words.
"Morgan Le Fay!"
Ian was shocked. He was somewhat prepared for Teacher Mara being a bad witch, but clearly didn't expect his teacher to be that bad.
Wizards have levels too.
Perhaps Albus Dumbledore is already a part of history, but it's clear that the headmaster has yet to achieve true legend status, whereas Morgan Le Fay has long been a legendary black witch in the annals of history!
Ian, having been in the magical world for quite some time, how could he not know the stories of that epic? He truly never imagined he could have intersections with legendary figures!
"Damn, Mara... my enlightenment teacher Lady Morgan, she could really have fought Lady Ravenclaw!?" Ian recalled his sudden thought while on Rowena Ravenclaw's little island. Initially, he thought his first teacher was just an ancient witch buried in history.
Who would have thought it would come to this?
Ian felt it wasn't about showing disrespect to the founders of Hogwarts.
He just felt that if the two truly clashed, Lady Rowena Ravenclaw's chances of winning might not be as high as he previously guessed.
"It had to be me! Just casually holding onto a thigh!" Ian was eager to enter the Misty Illusion Realm again, to bring his thoughts to Dumbledore and expose his teacher's disguise.
His teacher's expression would surely be fascinating!
"Ah, there's still several days of cooldown, I wonder if there's any way to shorten this cooldown." Ian had never felt time pass so slowly.
Probably because ever since the school started, things have been nonstop?
...
The afternoon class was Herbology.
No unexpected incidents occurred.
In fact.
Over three consecutive days.
Ian's studies were not affected by any new unexpected events, apart from the continual opening in the Defense Against the Dark Arts class without any substitute, everything was very peaceful. Rumor had it that Snape demanded to substitute the class, but was rejected by Dumbledore on the grounds that he was too evil, only teaching Dark Arts, not Defense Magic.
This rumor came from Gryffindor and was never particularly credible, especially when it involved the Slytherin Headmaster, the professor most disliked by Gryffindor students.
"I love this atmosphere!"
Another morning.
The Dementors and Ministry of Magic personnel had withdrawn, and the investigation results were not disclosed to anyone. Professor McGonagall merely gave a vague reassurance during dinner that there was no need for the little wizards to worry.
Most little wizards believed it.
However, like Ian and some senior wizards, from Professor McGonagall's forced smile, it was not difficult to deduce that the murderer of the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher likely hadn't been caught. The lucky situation might be that they found a suspect, the unfortunate one that not even a suspect was found.
The so-called no need to worry.
Was merely to prevent panic and chaos.
"It has nothing to do with me!"
After breakfast.
The morning class was Snape's Potion class.
Ravenclaw still attended the class with the little wizards of Slytherin.
After failing to team up with Little Black Sister, Michael was forced to pair with William, who had no other friends, becoming close buddies again, while the long-missing Aurora had already taken a seat in the Ravenclaw section.
When Ian arrived in the classroom, Aurora nodded at him, split her "limited edition" textbook using the Cloning Spell, and signaled for Ian to sit on the empty chair beside her with her eyes.
"I have notes from the Half-Blood Prince, and I'll let you copy them next time. The Half-Blood Prince is awesome, definitely more skilled than your grandfather's Potion Master in the Saint lineup."
Ian glanced through the cloned textbook and compared it with the notes he hadn't brought along, not that Snape exceeded the Potion Master in the Saints in every aspect.
At least in the area of easy-to-understand explanations, Aurora's textbook annotations were easier to learn from, whereas Snape excelled in modifying various potion formulas.
Perhaps because Snape didn't have as much money in his younger years, many potions that were costly in terms of Galleons, Snape could always find substitutes in cheaper materials.
