"Damn!"
Harry called out in his heart, hastily using the Iron Armor Spell to block Leian's spell, only to be tripped by Michael's Leg-Locker Curse.
"He's down!"
Michael shouted, panting heavily as he ran over, pointing his Magic Wand at Harry, his arm trembling slightly.
The moment had passed very quickly, and he hadn't run far, but he inexplicably felt his whole body heating up, breathing rapidly, and his heart pounding.
When Harry fell, his Magic Wand slipped from his hand, leaving him without the strength to resist, and Michael was confident of his victory.
But lying on the ground, Harry didn't look dejected; instead, he stared in surprise at the space beside him.
Beside him?
Why isn't Leian speaking?
In an instant, this thought flashed through Michael's mind, and he shouted, "Stupe—"
Suddenly, his back was hit by a spell, and Michael fell down like a statue.
He saw Leian's body beside him, as stiff as a wooden post.
"Beep—"
Hagrid blew the whistle, his deep voice echoing like thunder from afar...
"White team completely defeated, Black team wins!"
Michael blinked hard and saw a person suddenly "grow" beside the pumpkin.
Vid seemed to squeeze out of the air, smiled at Michael, and then lifted the spells off everyone.
"That was awesome, Vid!" Harry jumped up, happily saying, "I thought we were done for!"
Michael shrieked in disbelief, "Disillusionment Charm?"
"Just learned it," Vid said.
"No... I'm not asking when you learned it..."
Michael murmured, his eyes looking distant.
Leian silently stared at Vid, his gaze full of reproach—how was this different from a dimensional reduction blow?
Though Leian didn't know what "dimensional reduction blow" meant, his feelings were the same.
Theo pulled Neville up, and the two patted the dirt off themselves, accepting their defeat quite well.
Then they went to recover the others.
"Disillusionment Charm?" Padma said in shock once the spells were lifted, "It's like a spell that makes you invisible, right?"
Vid explained, "The Disillusionment Charm isn't an external object... besides, you can't expect there to be no invisible enemies, right?"
"But we haven't even mastered the Stunning Spell yet..."
Padma said with a grievance.
She always felt like her team was being bullied.
George sighed, while Fred made an exaggerated wink at him.
"But we had more people, and we hid a minute earlier, gaining the advantage of striking first." Michael said dejectedly, sitting on the ground.
After the teams were formed, he understood the reason for the grouping.
The Black and White teams should have been fair, but the numbers on both sides were unequal, preparation time was unequal, and starting ahead of time made it easier for them to ambush and set traps.
Evidently, in Vid's view, the three people on the Black team were stronger than their seven combined.
Fred and George were about the same, but Vid and Harry were stronger than their six people.
Vid was understandable, and Michael was somewhat prepared mentally.
But Harry joined the SSC after them all, though he learned spells quickly, but in Michael's view, his schoolwork was just average.
Unexpectedly, when it came to real confrontation, Harry managed to take down two of them when surrounded.
Looking at the time, only half of the allotted thirty minutes had passed.
The seven members of the White team gathered to discuss strategy.
"We shouldn't have thought about hiding at the start," Hermione said remorsefully, "Padma and I separated from you, and they found and defeated us easily."
Padma nodded in agreement beside her.
"We should use our numbers advantage for an attack."
"We should also know the surrounding terrain," Michael suggested, "It's best for everyone to run a lap and understand the environment."
...
Watching the members of the White team scatter and run in all directions, Harry asked curiously, "What are they doing?"
"Trying to find a good spot for an ambush?" Fred guessed, and then asked Vid, "Seems like they have a new plan; we should get to know the terrain too, right?"
"It's useless."
Vid pointed to the tall Hagrid, who was holding a giant pumpkin to place it beside him.
Vid said, "See that? Hagrid adjusts the pumpkin positions after each round ends. He also puts his chickens and pigs into the pumpkin patch to cause interference."
"How do we play the next round? Same as this time?" Harry asked eagerly.
"I don't think that'll work," Fred said, "They'll probably act together; if we separate, we'll be surrounded and attacked."
The two continued to whisper crude tactics, constantly adjusting their plans.
Vid didn't intervene much, silently absorbing and learning everyone's experiences, feeling everyone's growth.
The second round of the duel started quickly.
This time, the White team lost even faster.
They managed to work together and took down Harry and Fred, with only George "sacrificing" on their side.
But immediately, Vid used the Transfiguration Technique on the vines scattered everywhere, transforming dozens of snakes to launch an attack on the group, causing the young wizards to scream loudly in fright, deranging every formation and taking them all down with Immobulus.
Third round.
"Vid, your level of magic is too much of a cheat! There's no way to fight like this!"
Michael began to act shamelessly and hinted at Padma to cry, attempting moral manipulation.
Vid rolled his eyes at the sky, asking, "Then how about Harry and Fred joining your team, hmm?"
"Sure!" Michael agreed readily, and Padma immediately stopped crying.
Fred was a bit disappointed, but Harry felt it would be great.
He wanted to try what it's like to be opposite Vid.
The nine people gathered their heads in a huddle, discussing for a full twenty minutes.
The Weasley Twins even imitated the team captain Wood's style, drawing complex tactical diagrams with various triangles and lines.
Vid and Hagrid just sat on the pumpkins, sipping tea, waiting for them to be ready.
"Nine against one, are you up for it?" Hagrid asked worriedly.
Vid poked a little ant crawling onto the pumpkin with his finger, smirking mischievously: "They think I'm the one at a disadvantage, but what if it's just the opposite?"
The game started, with the nine engaging in various roles: some keeping lookout, some lurking in ambush, some setting traps, and one disguising as a pumpkin to launch a sneak attack.
Vid lazily yawned, not even bothering to get down from the pumpkin.
The Enlargement Spell worked wonders.
The group was chased by a swarm of ants and spiders, shrieking in terror, not to mention getting close to Vid—they would consider it a victory if they didn't cry.
Hagrid was amused and laughed heartily, rolling off his tall stool.
"Stop! Stop!"
After the round was over, even Hermione yelled frantically, "Vid, you are banned from using the Enlargement Spell again!"
Vid helplessly replied, "Can't you use it too?"
Hermione stared at him expressionlessly.
Did they not want to use it?
When they enlarged the ants, they would immediately turn to attack them!
