Chapter 121 - Chapter 118: A Duelist Still in His Right Mind

"My turn!"

Morishima looked at Tenjo Hikari, suppressing the fear in his heart.

Although Akaba Leo had put a bounty on Tenjo Hikari internally, saying that if anyone encountered him in the Other Dimension, they should "capture" him directly, Morishima had never witnessed Tenjo Hikari's duels firsthand. He only knew of Tenjo Hikari and had a rough understanding of his Deck.

A Deck focused on "Polymerization," the purest Fusion Deck.

But when truly facing Tenjo Hikari and seeing the strange purple puppet lines on his body, Morishima had to admit that this person, daring to oppose their Fusion Army, indeed had his own arrogance.

However, as a graduate of Blue Academy of Duel Academy and as a "senior," he was not so easy to deal with.

He was once a competitor for "Chief"!

"Draw!"

He swiftly drew a card and, looking at its contents, laughed heartily.

"I activate the Continuous Spell Card, Spell Absorption!"

He slapped a card onto his field.

"A Continuous Spell Card?" At this moment, the threads around Tenjo Hikari's body began to surge, occasionally sweeping up and eventually gathering into a huge Magic Staff. Tierra also appeared beside Tenjo Hikari, "Looks just like last time."

Tenjo Hikari nodded.

"As long as this card is on the field, every time either of us activates a Spell Card, I restore 500 Life Points."

He continued to reveal another card: "Next, I activate the Continuous Spell Card, Archfiend's Oath!"

With a rumble, a giant black stone tablet floated beside him, shaking the ceiling and causing many stones to fall.

"Huh, what's that card?" Tierra was surprised to see this card, "I haven't seen this card in any of your school's students' hands."

Tenjo Hikari also nodded: "It's a gambling-type card... maybe Tarzan has it?"

He referred to Tarzan, a student who once competed with Judai in drawing cards, but as Tenjo Hikari had never dueled this student in this world, he wasn't sure.

With a sneer on his face, Morishima chuckled: "Thanks to Spell Absorption, I gain 500 LP."

Morishima LP: 4000→4500.

"Then, I activate the effect of Archfiend's Oath, paying 500 Life Points to declare a card name.

If the card name matches the top card of the deck, add it to the hand. If not, send the revealed card to the Graveyard."

Morishima LP: 4500→4000.

"Isn't this pure guessing?" Tierra was a bit surprised, "What's the use of this, why not use Pot of Greed?"

"Hmph, ignorant Duel Spirit, don't spout nonsense!"

Tierra couldn't help but clench her fists.

You're really asking for it.

If this weren't a duel, she might have turned this person into a wet piece already.

Morishima placed his hand on the top of his Deck, closed his eyes, and a golden electric glow gradually emerged from his body. He then suddenly opened his eyes: "I see it, the next card in my Deck is, Frontline Base!"

He flipped over the top card of the Deck, showing it to everyone, and as he had guessed, his first card was indeed Frontline Base!

"How is this possible!" Tierra exclaimed in shock, "Did he use Prophetic Arts?"

"No..." Tenjo Hikari furrowed his brow, "It seems his status as 'Chief' wasn't just talk."

Duel Academy does teach students how to "draw cards," and there are specialized courses that teach students how to draw the cards they want during duels.

Although it sounds extremely unscientific, in this world where cards could change with the user's will, this was no joke.

And, for Morishima to be capable of this level, it indicated that he wasn't a mere braggart as a 'Chief competitor', he might actually be in the top three of a class!

This also meant that he was not on the same level as those "small fries"!

With a high level of Spirit Adaptability, a powerful card-drawing ability, and the card of Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder, it seemed this person's confidence wasn't baseless.

"Next, I activate the second Archfiend's Oath!"

"And then—I declare, Y-Dragon Head!"

He swiftly drew a card and displayed it.

Accompanied by a fierce crackling sound and a clear electric crackle, a card was flipped over, revealing the text on the card. However, the image of Y-Dragon Head on the card wasn't the normal dragon head, but one leaking electricity and struggling hard!

"Not done yet, I activate the Continuous Spell Card, Frontline Base! Restore 500 Life Points! Then Normal Summon, X-Head Cannon!"

Morishima LP: 4000→4500.

"Then, using Frontline Base's effect, once per turn, I can Special Summon 1 Union Monster from my hand! I Special Summon the Union Monster, Y-Dragon Head!"

Two electricity-leaking robots appeared on his field, both X-Head Cannon and Dragon Head looked quite dispirited.

Tierra unhappily shook her head.

Arriving at a Dimension of Machine-Type Spirits, Tierra was originally very happy, and when she sensed what Tenjo Hikari intended to do, knowing she could take the initiative to snatch the cards of the Three Phantasm, she was even more delighted.

But what was the result?

These humans were really arrogant and foolish, using the power of the Phantasms to control the Union Machines, and even forcing them to serve, for their own research.

She glanced around the facility, seeing many Spirits disassembled, and then looked at Dr. Union and the device next to him.

Oh? That mortal, unconsciously protecting that device, huh?

She silently looked at it twice but was in no hurry.

"When X and Y are on the field, this card from my Fusion Deck can be summoned to the field! This is a special fusion unique to Union Machines—have a good look, Tenjo Hikari!

Using the X-Head Cannon and Y-Dragon Head on the field to combine!"

The bodies of the two Monsters began to break down, various parts connecting, eventually combining the lower body of the X-Head Cannon and the back of the Y-Dragon Head into a brand new Monster.

XY-Dragon Cannon, LV 6, Light Attribute, Machine-Type, 2200 ATK.

"Set a card, end turn!"

"Good job!" the nearby doctor shouted excitedly.

Even though he was an outsider and didn't quite grasp the nuances of dueling, he had watched many Spirit Duels and duels between Duelists. Morishima's opening move, increasing his LP, Special Summoning a Monster with 2200 ATK, setting a card, with a total of 4 Continuous Spells on the field, seemed very stable!

"However, why not directly Special Summon the Lord of Striking Thunder?" he still had some points of confusion.

He'd seen earlier that the mighty Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder could easily keep the powers of Spirits outside the laboratory, and in duels against Spirits, could practically end the battle instantly. Even someone who didn't understand dueling could tell that card could bring victory!

Morishima, however, didn't explain to him, instead sneering at Tenjo Hikari, seemingly calculating and wary.

"Hmm, this opening indeed looks impressive?" After seeing this scene, even Tierra had to nod in approval, "This is what a graduate should be."

Having watched many duels and even tried it herself a few times, and given Tierra had been quite studiously learning duels, she somewhat understood the opponent's strategy upon seeing it: "He is keeping those Continuous Spells to restore more Life, replenish his hand next turn, and then summon the Phantasm?"

"He still retains sanity, not completely bewitched and controlled by the Phantasm's power."

Tenjo Hikari nodded.

"If that's the case..."

Tenjo Hikari drew a card, a hint of purple light flickered in his eyes: "Well... heh, I Normal Summon, Elemental Hero Prisma!!"
