The Security Team is a prominent feature of Konoha.
Established during the reign of the Second Hokage Senju Tobirama, it is fully staffed by Uchiha Race ninjas, responsible for maintaining the village's public order.
This not only acknowledges the strength of Uchiha Race ninjas but also serves as a measure of prevention and surveillance in a certain sense.
Since Uchiha Race ninjas who activate the Sharingan generally have unstable emotions, strict attention must be paid to them.
However, regardless of the situation, due to the immense power held by the Security Team, and since Uchiha is a top-tier Kekkeigenkai Ninja Race in Konoha, even the Hokage often gives them some face.
The Security Team building is the workplace for team members; most people coming and going here are Uchiha Race ninjas, though occasionally, ninjas or civilians in trouble are brought inside for admonishment. These individuals may have violated some village regulations, but it's usually not a big deal, falling under civil disputes, with maximum detention lasting a few days or half a month.
If the situation is severe, they will be sent to Konoha Prison for reform.
The work process basically does not require reporting to the Hokage, as long as no major issues arise, the Hokage won't bother with such matters.
Although complaints of the Security Team's arrogance and reckless detentions have piled up into several large baskets.
Among these are cases of genuine oversight leading to wrongful accusations, as well as instances of people stirring up trouble from behind the scenes, attempting to smear the Uchiha Race.
After joining the Security Team, Ruri sees such trivial matters every day.
After all, finding spies within the village or encountering enemy attacks on Konoha are extremely rare occurrences.
Most of the time, the tasks of the Security Team are to handle these civil disputes.
Even when handled well, they often don't gain any positive reputation, but if anything goes wrong, complaints surge in.
Moreover, Uchiha Race ninjas tend to have straightforward temperaments, and when they can't hold back, they might beat up those who speak recklessly, inviting further criticism.
"Such a bore..."
Ruri stands inside the Security Team building, on the third-floor corridor, looking through the glass at the passing crowd outside, clearly seeing two Security Team Uchiha ninjas bringing several people in, resulting in intense arguments right on the square in front of the building.
"It is indeed dull, but this is the daily routine the Security Team must endure. Especially after retiring from the front line, it's difficult to adapt to such peaceful life, isn't it?"
Walking up to Ruri is a Jonin Uchiha, Uchiha Fugaku.
He knows Ruri has just been transferred from Sakumo's team to the Security Team, and is finding it hard to switch her identity right now.
Unlike the stimulating life on Sakumo's team, the work in the Security Team is indeed much more monotonous.
Upon seeing the conflict in front of the Security Team building, Fugaku makes no comment; this kind of situation is already routine.
"This kind of thankless job should include other Ninja Races as well; just relying on our family alone is not enough to cope with these rumors."
Contrary to Fugaku, Ruri does not fear such trivial rumors, but hearing and seeing them frequently makes her feel annoyed.
Just like incessant buzzing flies.
Too few ninjas and civilians in Konoha can truly think rationally.
Someone like Sakumo is rare among rare.
The Uchiha are not without friends in Konoha; it's just that friends are extremely scarce.
There's also a portion with neutral attitudes, but more complaints about the Security Team's arrogant demeanor.
This is what displeases Ruri; since it's all being criticized, it would be better if all Ninja Races were castigated together, sharing some of Uchiha's burden.
Moreover, the addition of other Ninja Race ninjas could facilitate the handling of these civil disputes.
For instance, the Ino-Shika-Cho trio, or fellow Kekkeigenkai Ninja Race the Hyuga, they and their Secret Techniques could also serve in the Security Team.
"But this is the cornerstone only our Uchiha Race can uphold, and granting the Security Team's power to other Ninja Races would stir opinions within the family."
As one of the only two Ninja Races that founded Konoha, the Uchiha Race should enjoy such treatment, not stand equally with other Ninja Races.
"Only when our race maintains absolute power will any division of power not impact the family's status in Konoha, and those with insight would not underestimate us. As for those fools, Uchiha's power is not for their entertainment."
That's Ruri's perspective.
Fugaku says nothing, knowing Ruri's strategy can't pass family meetings and would be vetoed by many.
"On another note, aren't you supposed to be on an assignment?"
Ruri knows Fugaku is currently serving in the Hokage Faction, forming new squads with other village ninjas for missions.
"I also have a nominal position in the Security Team; I just drop by after completing assignments. It's still the same as ever, without much change."
Fugaku sighs.
"Kind of wanting to go out on a mission."
Ruri says.
"Bear with it; this is something every Uchiha ninja has to experience. Speaking of which, how much do you know about the Mangekyo Sharingan?"
