Chapter 8 - Chapter Seven: A Day of Mortal Joys

Recap

Once, there had been a man from another world.

A soul reborn by choice, gifted with the powers of Revan and the divine blood of Artemis herself.

That man became Auron, the god born from laughter and defiance, who turned destiny's chains into his own melody.

He found family in unexpected places among the immortal Hunt, under his mother's quiet protection, and within the laughter of a mortal woman who had once known heartbreak and war.

Lily Potter, saved from a tragic end, had learned to live again under silver light.

Harry, her son, curious, fearless, and prone to accidental magic that defied logic, had grown among gods and heroes, calling them family.

The Hunt accepted him.

Hecate blessed him.

Artemis tolerated him (mostly).

And Auron loved them all.

Now, years later, with laughter replacing fear, the divine and the mortal prepared for something utterly ordinary and profoundly rare:

A birthday.

Harry Potter Turns Six

The morning sunlight spilled across the glade like spilled gold, catching on tents, armor, and the occasional enchanted rabbit hopping through the ferns (the byproduct of one of Harry's "experiments").

"Happy birthday, little star," Lily said warmly, ruffling her son's messy black hair.

Harry beamed. "Do I get cake?"

Auron grinned from where he leaned against a tree, arms crossed. "Cake, yes. But first — an adventure."

Harry's eyes lit up. "Where to?! The moon again?"

Auron chuckled. "Someplace even stranger… Florida."

Phoebe frowned. "Is that in Greece? She says jokingly,"

Zoe sighed. "No. It's worse."

By midday, the divine trio stood at the gates of Universal Orlando, glamours carefully wrapped around them.

Lily wore casual jeans and a sunhat, blending effortlessly.

Auron, despite his mortal disguise, still drew looks tall, silver-eyed, radiating the kind of presence that made tourists wonder if they'd just seen a movie star.

Harry bounced between them, wide-eyed as he took in the sight of roller coasters, fountains, and costumed mascots.

"I want to ride that!" Harry shouted, pointing to a towering coaster.

Lily hesitated. "Maybe start with something less… likely to kill you?"

Auron smirked. "He's a Potter. Risk comes with the bloodline."

Harry puffed up proudly. "See, Mum? Even Auron says so!"

As the day went on, the trip became a blur of laughter and wonder.

Harry's magic, ever unpredictable, flared whenever he got too excited turning popcorn into glowing stars, making soda float, and once causing an animatronic raptor to bow politely before him.

Tourists cheered.

Employees panicked.

Lily pretended nothing unusual was happening.

"Auron," she whispered, "you're supposed to stop him from doing that."

"I tried," he replied, watching as Harry made the Jurassic Park gates open with a flick of invisible magic. "He's stronger than he looks."

"Hmm," Lily smirked. "Sounds familiar."

Between the chaos of rides and games, there were quieter moments.

Lunch by the lagoon.

Harry was asleep on a bench, clutching a plushy of a raptor.

Lily rested her head on Auron's shoulder, the Florida sun painting her hair in fire and gold.

"You know," she said softly, "I think this is the first time he's had something that feels like a normal childhood."

Auron smiled faintly. "Normal is overrated. But I understand."

Lily glanced at him. "And you? Do you ever wish for something normal?"

He hesitated, looking at the crowd, at laughter, at life untouched by prophecy or power. "Sometimes," he admitted. "But then I remember… I already have more than I ever thought I'd deserve."

She smiled. "Smooth talker."

He smirked. "Learned from the best."

As the sun dipped low, fireworks burst over the park in brilliant reds, blues, and golds, lighting up the night.

Harry sat on Auron's shoulders, cheering wildly. "This is the best birthday ever!"

Auron grinned. "Then it's worth every minute."

Lily slipped her hand into his. "You're good with him, you know."

"He's easy to love," Auron said simply.

For a long moment, they stood together beneath mortal stars, watching light dance across the sky.

The sound of laughter, mortal, divine, and utterly human filled the air.

Artemis, watching from afar through silver sight, smiled faintly. Her son had done something even Olympus rarely managed: he'd found peace.

And though she would never admit it aloud, even she thought the day had been… perfect

Later that night, as Harry slept curled up with his plushy of a raptor , Auron stood by the hotel balcony, gazing out at the lights of the city.

The wind whispered faintly familiar, teasing, divine.

A voice followed it.

"You look happy, nephew."

Auron didn't turn. "Hello, Apollo."

The sun god appeared beside him in a flash of golden light, sunglasses and all. "So… when's the wedding?"

Auron groaned. "You sound like the Huntresses."

Apollo grinned.

They stood in companionable silence for a moment, looking down at Lily and Harry asleep through the window.

Apollo's voice softened. "You've done well, kid. She's brought balance to you. And that little one… he'll bring it to everyone else."

Auron nodded quietly. "I know."

The moonlight brightened overhead gentle, approving.

And beneath it, for the first time in a long while, the god of balance allowed himself to simply be.

A son.

A lover.

And maybe just maybe a husband.

And, for one shining mortal day just a man.
