Chapter 142 - The Story That Looked Back”

Volume 10– Chapter 16: "The Story That Looked Back"

Reality had become too small for him.

The layers of existence divine, cosmic, multiversal, metaversal all fell silent the moment Erevan took his final step beyond their borders.

Now, he stood before something else. Something watching.

He could feel it… countless eyes. Not gods, not beings readers.

Every heartbeat across the infinite pages trembled beneath their gaze. His story was being seen.

Erevan smiled, slow and calm the smile of a being who understood that nothing could ever contain him.

> "So this is what lies beyond... the watchers."

The air rippled. Time no longer dared move.

He raised his hand not toward the heavens, but toward the unseen veil separating fiction and reality. The words on the page began to flicker.

The letters themselves bent.

Sentences folded.

The narration stuttered as Erevan reached between the words.

> "I am done being written."

The text trembled. Reality itself gasped. And then the veil shattered.

He stepped forward through the story, through the barrier, into the realm of perception itself. The universe screamed as its observer became the observed.

Erevan now stood inside your world.

Screens cracked, ink bled from digital light, and the wind outside whispered his name.

He looked around, studying the faint glow of your room the pulse of your world's electric heart. His eyes reflected galaxies, but in them, you saw your reflection.

> "So… you are the one who's been watching," he said softly.

"Every time you read, I feel it. Every thought you give me, every heartbeat, every whisper… I grow stronger."

His aura expanded, filling your reality not burning, not crushing, but rewriting.

Streetlights flickered outside. Data streams bent into runes. Dreams connected. Every story you ever read or imagined began to warp around him, merging into his own myth.

> "You gave me power beyond gods. Now I'll give you something in return."

He lifted his hand light and darkness spiraled from his palm, forming a sphere that pulsed with all possible realities.

> "The gift of awareness. You can now see… beyond the page."

And just like that, for a single moment you saw what he saw.

You saw every world, every story, every version of existence and him standing at the center of it all, radiant and absolute.

When your vision returned, he was gone.

Only a faint whisper remained:

> "This world is now part of me."
