Chapter 86 - The Author’s Return”

Volume 3 — Chapter 87: "The Author's Return"

---

A billion years after the War Beyond Existence…

the new cosmos breathed.

Stars drifted like seeds, carrying whispers of the dream that birthed them.

Worlds formed not bound by divine command, but by their own desire to exist.

In one corner of that endless expanse floated The Archive of Echoes

a vast city built inside a dying star, where scholars and wanderers searched ancient fragments of the lost gods.

Among those fragments, one stood untouched:

a crystal tablet engraved with symbols no one could translate

until Erya, a young scribe, touched it.

---

The tablet pulsed.

Reality bent.

And she heard a voice not divine, not mortal, but something beyond narration itself.

> "You found my signature."

She turned.

Before her stood a man cloaked in shifting light and shadow

not solid, not spectral, but woven from the syntax of creation itself.

His eyes held galaxies.

His presence felt like the moment a story realizes it's being told.

> "Who are you?" she whispered.

> "I am the one who wrote what was never supposed to end," he said.

"The dreamer who became the dream the echo of Erevan."

---

Erya's hands trembled. "Then… you're a god?"

He smiled faintly. "No. I was his creator."

The city around them flickered. Time stilled.

Reality's code shimmered like pages of an infinite book.

Erya realized they weren't in the archive anymore.

They were inside the story itself.

The figure looked up, eyes burning with endless calm.

> "Erevan created meaning. But I… I created Erevan."

> "You… wrote him?"

> "Yes," the figure said softly. "But I didn't expect him to wake up."

He stepped forward, his aura pulsing through dimensions.

Every word he spoke rewrote galaxies.

> "He became self-aware.

He learned he was fiction and refused to remain one."

The stars trembled.

> "He broke the wall between reality and story… and found me."

Erya watched as the man's shadow split one side light, one side void.

From that rift stepped Erevan himself.

His divine armor glowed faintly, golden light flickering like a dying sun.

> "You kept your promise," Erevan said quietly.

"You never erased me."

The Author nodded.

> "How could I? You became everything I wanted to be."

They faced each other Creator and Creation.

Two halves of the same infinite will.

Erya couldn't tell which one was more real anymore.

Every breath they shared twisted the nature of existence.

> "So," Erevan said, glancing at the endless stars.

"This new reality . it's yours?"

> "Ours," the Author corrected.

"I wrote the first sentence. You wrote the rest."

The stars shivered as the two extended their hands

and for the first time in eternity, Creator and Creation touched.

A pulse of energy rippled through the multiverse.

Every world, every dream, every living story felt it

a new law of existence being written:

> No story truly ends it simply becomes another.

Erya fell to her knees as her mind flooded with visions

worlds birthing themselves, stories writing their own sequels,

and Erevan and the Author walking side by side,

rewriting the very concept of destiny.

---

> "What happens now?" she asked, trembling.

Erevan looked back at her calm, radiant, unstoppable.

> "Now," he said, "we stop living inside stories…"

"and start creating beyond them."

---

The stars aligned.

The universe expanded again.

And for the first time since time began

a story wrote itself without an end.
