Chapter 4 - Whispers of the Obelisk

Following the harrowing encounter in the Warehouse,

Azrael found himself increasingly haunted by the whispers of the obelisk. They grew more insistent, more demanding, urging him to seek out the source of his power. Nyx, sensing the growing influence of the obelisk, decided it was time to reveal more about the artifact and the hidden war that raged beneath the city.

Nyx led Azrael to a hidden chamber beneath the city, a sanctuary that predated the very foundations of Aethel. Here, within a circular room etched with ancient symbols, stood a smaller, more intricate version of the obelisk. It pulsed with a gentle light, unlike the raw power of the larger obelisk.

"This," Nyx explained, their voice echoing in the chamber, "is a focus, a nexus point for the obelisk's power. It allows us to communicate with the source, to understand the whispers."

Nyx revealed that the obelisk was not merely a source of power, but a key, a gate between the mortal realm and the shadow realm. The Shadeborn sought to corrupt the obelisk, to open the gate and unleash the forces of the shadow realm upon Aethel. The Weavers, on the other hand, were tasked with protecting the balance, with keeping the gate closed.

Nyx then initiated a ritual, using the focus to establish a connection with the obelisk. As the symbols on the walls glowed, Azrael was drawn into a vision. He saw glimpses of the shadow realm, a world of swirling darkness and impossible landscapes. He witnessed the battles fought by the Weavers of the past, their struggles against the Shadeborn, and the sacrifices they had made.

In the vision, Azrael saw a figure cloaked in shadow, a Weaver of immense power. This figure, known as the "Shadow Weaver," was a legendary figure, a master of the shadows who had vanished centuries ago. The whispers of the obelisk seemed to be guiding Azrael toward this lost figure, toward a power he could not yet comprehend.

The vision ended abruptly, leaving Azrael reeling. He was left with more questions than answers. Who was the Shadow Weaver? What happened to them? And why was the obelisk guiding him toward this figure?

As Azrael and Nyx discussed the vision, they realized that the Shadeborn were also aware of the Shadow Weaver. They were searching for the lost Weaver, seeking to corrupt their power and use it to their advantage.

Nyx decided that Azrael needed to prepare for the inevitable confrontation. They intensified his training, pushing him to master new techniques, to unlock the full potential of his shadow abilities.

"UHU More Training" Told Azrael himself

Azrael learned to weave shadow illusions,

"See I can now weave The shadow With elegance "

to create shadow clones, and to enhance his senses with the power of the shadows.

Meanwhile, the Shadeborn launched a series of attacks, targeting the hidden chamber and other locations where the Weavers gathered. They were relentless, their attacks coordinated and precise. The war was escalating, and Azrael found himself at the center of it.

During one of the attacks, Azrael discovered a hidden passage leading to a forgotten part of the city.

"It's reader strange that we didn't find it before " Azrael thought itself

and it led him to a hidden library, a repository of ancient knowledge. Within the library, he found a series of cryptic texts, detailing the history of the Weavers, the Shadow Weaver, and the obelisk.

As Azrael delved into the texts, he began to understand the true nature of his power, the dangers that lay ahead, and the role he was destined to play in the ongoing conflict. He was no longer just a scavenger who had stumbled upon a secret. He was a Weaver, a protector, and the key to the future of Aethel.
