Chapter 11 - Could it Be Highschool of the Dead?

— — — — — —

A rainbow-tier… trait? Anime Gate? A portal to all worlds?

…What the?

For a moment, Kira just stared blankly.

No, seriously, what?

He had only recovered his state a moment ago, and suddenly a completely new trait activated?

"A Portal to all worlds? Will it be like the webnovels I read in my past life?"

He rubbed his temples, thinking it through. "Yeah… probably literal. A portal that links to every world out there. And rainbow tier… is that the highest quality?"

He wasn't sure. His Master of All Martial Arts had only just evolved into orange quality. Was there something beyond that? Gold, orange… and now rainbow?

Hard to say, but rainbow was definitely above orange.

Kira let out a long breath. His mind and body quickly stabilized.

"Kaguya, step outside for now. Once I run a few tests, we'll talk."

"Alright."

Kaguya didn't press him. She simply raised a hand and applied another buff, this time perfectly stabilizing his state.

…So what happened just now?

She didn't dwell on it. When her father wanted to speak, he would.

...

Breakfast passed in a strangely quiet mood.

Matsuyoi noticed the shift but didn't ask. She knew Kira well—when he was ready to share, he would.

After breakfast, Kira continued martial training with Kaguya—though at this point, it was no longer just drilling forms. Every movement looked ordinary, yet carried an invisible sharpness.

...

Training completed, Kira calmed his breathing and steadied his mind.

Once he felt ready, he spoke calmly. "Kaguya, keep track of my condition. If anything abnormal happens to my body, record it."

"Yes, Father."

No questions. Just a small nod, and she began her observation.

Kira focused and gently triggered the new trait.

A faint intent—and the world around him froze.

Time itself halted, and before him, space split apart like a curtain being torn open, making a big red gate.

"A time stop…?"

"Whatever. Let's test it."

Without a hint of hesitation, Kira stepped through the gate. In that brief moment before fully crossing over, he confirmed something important—the Anime Gate could be entered and exited freely.

This first activation was simply dramatic by design.

Then he took one step—and his figure disappeared.

In A Modern Ruined City

But the streets weren't filled with humans.

Only zombie-like creatures shambled aimlessly, letting out twisted, animalistic growls. Their faces were contorted, eyes empty.

Space tore open and Kira emerged quietly, glancing around.

"Zombies…? Is this a world I recognize? Or…"

He wasn't sure if the Anime Gate linked to worlds he knew, or to completely random parallel worlds.

"Let's take a look first."

"Modern Japan, huh?"

He scanned the surroundings. By all appearances, it was modern-day Japan—but completely overrun. Zombies wandered everywhere, yet none reacted to him.

Of course they didn't.

Sight, sound, smell, presence—he could erase every trace. To an ordinary zombie, he may as well not exist.

He walked down the street at a casual pace.

"Well... could it be Highschool of the Dead?"

That was his first guess.

Honestly, that fanservice apocalypse world was a perfect "newbie zone" for crossovers.

He considered it and found the possibility quite likely. Narrowing his eyes slightly, he expanded his perception.

"Not sensing any human life. Everything is just… zombies."

A few moments passed.

His mental field extended over half the city.

"Completely wiped out? Not even a single survivor?"

Even Kira found that a bit surprising. The infection rate here was a little too efficient.

He didn't overthink it and simply changed direction, heading toward the unexplored area.

His footsteps were unhurried, almost deliberately slow, as if he wanted to measure something.

"It should've been around an hour."

"That's enough."

Estimating the time, Kira finally stopped. A thought—and he vanished.

Before he left, he glanced once at a broken clock.

Main World — Back at the City Lord's Residence

The gate reopened, and Kira stepped back into his residence.

"Father?"

Kaguya's dark eyes blinked. She sensed something off instantly.

Kira walked over, sat beside her, and asked, "Kaguya, how much time passed just now?"

"Time was distorted. In my perception, Father never left. There was no flow of time. But… I did sense something interfering with time just now."

That was expected. Her ability—Eternity and the Moment—was naturally sensitive to temporal irregularities.

"Mm." Kira nodded.

Kaguya tilted her head slightly. "Father, what happened? May I know?"

"You can."

He never intended to hide anything—from his aunt, or even his new daughter.
