Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: Maniac!

Chapter 15: Maniac!

Her face turned a mottled blue. Her struggles became weak, slowly turning into twitching movements.

The more she tried to struggle, the more unnerved Adrian's expression became.

Every spasm, every arch of her back, only dragged him deeper into that intimate, awful warmth. Her pitiful struggle as she was chocked to death was pulling him deeper into her.

By the time he was halfway buried in her, the fight was over. Her face was now a dreadful purple, her eyelids fluttered and then fell shut. Her hands dropped to her sides.

Only then did Adrian finally let go of her, slumping back first into the snow, panting heavily, trying to catch his breath.

" Huff..Huff..I did it"

" I finally did it.."

" I killed her..." He continued to breath in and out rapidly, his breath emerging as chilling vapour.

All Adrian wanted to do was rest. Every muscle in his body ached, and his mind felt foggy and drained. But he knew he had to get up before he wasted more time here.

lying naked in the freezing snow was a one-way ticket to becoming a human popsicle or even worse, dead due to frostbite.

Since he was currently naked, the cold wasn't just uncomfortable anymore, right now, it was actively draining the life from him, the chill air continued to seep, deep into his bones and made his teeth chatter uncontrollably.

" I can't keep wasting my time here, mom's still at home..."

" I need to hurry up and head back to her before I end up having to pay the medical bills for two."

Adrian forced himself to get up, his body protested with every movement he made but he continued to push on.

Fortunately for him, The blizzard had calmed to a steady, bitter wind, but it was still brutally cold.

Before heading anywhere, he had one thing he needed to get. Which made his stay out even longer in this chilling environment.

He had to find his basket of herbs. It was his only ticket to getting his mom help, moreover he did promise Mr Miller, what type of person would he be if he went back on his word.

Additionally, he also needed it for what he was about to do next.

He stumbled back the way he came, his bare feet numb against the frozen ground, retracing the path he took while fleeing from the half eared female goblin, although that didn't lead back to his basket, he still managed to cover some ground.

Since the cave wasn't to far from where they kidnapped him, Adrian began to scour the area, looking for his wicker basket.

" F-Finally f-found it..." Adrian's teeth chattered as he spoke.

After what felt like an eternity, he spotted it, the wicker basket, was half-buried in a drift by the snow but still intact.

" Thank God it's still in one piece."

He was joyous but his relief was short-lived because by the time he found it, his whole body was now shaking violently from the cold, and a dangerous drowsiness was pulling at the edges of his vision, tempting him to just lie down and sleep.

" S-Stay focused..." Adrian shook his head strongly.

He fought the tempting urge, no matter what, he couldn't give up now after coming all this way.

He gritted his teeth and knelt down on the snow, using his stiff hands to dig through the herbs.

Eventually, he saw what he was looking for.

He found his sickle, A triumphant smile bloomed on his face at the sight.

He carefully placed the herbs back, hoisted the heavy basket onto his back, and continued his miserable trudge through the snow, each step felt as if he was battling against the cold and his own failing body.

Back in the cave, the tied-up young man stared listlessly at the burning campfire. His eyes, hollow and tired, drifted over to the two remaining female goblins who were now asleep, their slightly swollen bellies rising and falling rhythmically.

His gaze then moved to the dark, slowly freezing pool of Adrian's blood on the cave floor, and then to the random bones strewn carelessly in a corner.

Some of those bones, he knew for a fact, had belonged to people he knew. Yet now they were gone and he was the only one left.

Tears welled up in his eyes and began to stream down his dirty cheeks, his silent sobs shaking his shoulders.

While he was struggling to hold back a flood of tears, his eyes suddenly widened in pure shock.

He suddenly caught sight of a naked guy who was now in the cave.

Adrian emerged, standing near the entrance, this time without the herb basket yet his sickle was tightly clenched in his hands.

The familiar intruder, who he would later know as Adrian, quickly brought a finger to his own lips, his eyes pleading, while he gestured for him to keep quiet and not say a word.

The young man nodded his head rapidly , showing he understood.

He remained silent and watched, holding his breath, as Adrian quietly moved towards the unsuspecting two. even though his steps were a little unsteady and his vision seemed to be blurring.

He sneaked up to the side of one of the sleeping goblins. Adrian crouched down beside her, his shadow dancing on the cave wall from the firelight. He raised the sickle high above her exposed neck.

Just then, her eyes flew open wide. She was startled and confused by the sight of him, a human she thought was dead and digested was now crouching so close to her, too close for comfort.

But before she could make a sound, Adrian's hand clamped down hard over her mouth, muffling her completely, while he used his right leg to press down on her legs, to keep her in place.

With a brutal, decisive motion, he drove the sickle deep into her throat. Blood sputtered outwards, fortunately it didn't cause much of a commotion.
